  1. I was on an 8 or 12 way at Mardi Gras Boogie in Covington, La circa 1988 and 2 of of the guys on the dive got together on break-off and did a mr. bill and landed it. They had done it before apparently. Take care, space
  2. Please state if you want the container resized or the harness and the peeps here could help you more. Take care, space
  3. Try sewing straightline on the far left and the far right, if one shreds it, it is more than likely a timing issue. Take care, space
  4. Always make sure the steering lines are clear to the risers on a corrected oriented harness. Game over. If your teacher did not teach this, they suck. Name and shame them. This really pisses me off. Take care, space
  5. My question has been answered by many. Next drink is on Dick's honor. Take care, space
  6. Was he a friend of yours? "A forum where we can post memories and tributes to our friends who stayed for a while and left before us". I dont think he was a skydiver. An outstanding paratrooping soldier, yes. Does this belong here? Just asking. Take care, space
  7. The municipality should most certainly pay for it. The government must take care (govern) of its citizens. Otherwise, what point is the government for? I doubt the community there is without benefit from the business. "We tax people for absolutely no benefit to them and govern air! Muhahaha!" Just my opinion. take care, space
  8. Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNagyr19c44. it is a BASE jump but distraction still applies. These guys are very experienced. Target jumper over-rotated and camera dude got it all in frame. So let us do some math here. about 3000 jumps betwixt them (BASE and Skydiving). Target jumper made a mistake by over-rotating, just for the sake clarity we value him at 1500 jumps. Camera dude 1500 jumps freaks out on target jumpers mistake and almost forgets to pull. So take your amount of jumps as a percentage of 1500 jumps. So let us say that you have 150 jumps. that would equate to 10% of those guys in the vid. Cam dude opened at 15ft let us say. So, lets convert this to skydiving. 100%-10% = 90%. and we throw 10factor in. Ahhh screw it we do a 20. So 20 times 15ft times 90% =270skydiving-ft. and if you notice on the vid, the guy does have a radio. But he got everything in frame and did not let the radio distract him. Not meaning to be a jerk, but I have been distracted doing video also. Being distracted for a few seconds is all that it takes. Strapping on that cam can make you feel like Stanley Kubrik and make you think that you can get the uktimate shot framed (all the way to impact), oh, you probably have an AAD so you should be ok with landing a 2 out downplane situation, in the forest at sunset, next to a brothel. 17. To the nay-sayers. What if the device always knew what song/stanza/chord/note (of fav song(s) to end on to signal whatever one does? With the song they knew. Rhythm is the basis for learning sequences is it not? It would suck of course if there was a glitch. Try this: recite the alphabet fwd and time your self. Then recite it backwards timed. Huge difference for me in secs. But if one could do the abc´s forward at a speed relevant to the exit altitude and assign a number to each letter assuming the signal will always activate "z" (26) and it would digitally calculate the exit altitude (EA) to the intended signal activation alt (AA) divided by units of measurement (UM) =[EA-AA/UM] and multiply that into measurements of unit and one could get altitude on digital display in meters or feet or what ever one wants and know if it is accurate by looking at the ground.....
