Sihk's have always seemed to me to be some of the most redeeming people you can find in the United States, I can't imagine why anyone would want to do such a senseless thing. Peace, love and hoppiness

All politics aside, even though it's clear which side of the fence I sit on, I'm wondering what those who practice law think of the feasibility of getting the courts to issue a writ of mandamus to make the executive branch enforce the laws on the books. I grew up here, got a job, did college, and joined the military, but i was born a citizen and I can't speculate on what I would do if I found out my parents forced me to be a criminal. The problem is it's not my fault their parents did that to them. Virtually any other developed country would have them imprisoned before they are deported. There's a thing called national sovereignty, and I don't understand why the United States has to be the one country in the world that idea doesn't apply. It sucks that their parents lives were shitty enough that they would actually trade a lifetime of criminality for a marginally better way of life for them and their children, and I'll do/ have done my microlending and volunteering to do what I can as an American to contribute to a better way of life for those in Central and South America. I just don't see how anyone can deny that we as a country have to put our sovereign right to choose who we do and who we do not allow to come into this county aside. No other country has been as tolerant of illegal immigration as the United States, with the exception of maybe Brazil, so I don't see why those of us who wish to just enforce the laws on the books have to be the bad guys. I want to know what the "specific and articulable" facts were for every single person they pulled out of a car. I wonder if our esteemed old dirty barristers on this board feel the police department can justify these as a lawful terry stops. In other cases I think that can be one of the open primaries strong suits, especially when it's applied to state elections. Instead of "sabotaging" an election, members of the other party can go into an open primary knowing full well whoever wins that primary is going to win the general election in that district and pull the votes away from candidates on the fringes and shoulder up someone who is more moderate. I believe that Ron Paul is a distraction, and I can't take him seriously. President's normally don't come from the House of Represenatives. I think Lincoln and Ford are the only two with just house experience. Going with Ford as it more fits the modern context he was an extremely respected and powerful congressman, serving as house minority leader for 8 years and probably lead the strongest republican showing in the house since reconstruction. Once he got elected to the presidency he showed how legislative experience doesn't translate into executive and largely was just a placeholder president between Carter and Reagan. Dr. Paul on the other hand is largely considered a joke among his peers. He continually sponsors legislation that is so outlandish it will never even pass through a committee. Since 1997 he has sponsored 411 bills, of which only one has been enacted. While most bills from any congressman don't make it through, the average is around 5%...way above Dr. Paul's anemic .2%.Dr. Paul has ideas, the problem is that his ideas only seem to make sense in the vacuum he creates for himself and his colleagues and the pundits understand they aren't workable in the political reality. I like Dr. Paul being in the house. He continually throws ideas out there, like pasta against a wall, and sometimes one out of the myriad stick, that's a good thing. But as president Dr. Paul would be expected to be the leader of his party, the leader of the government, the leader of the nation, and the leader of the free world, and the emphasis isn't going to be on the 1 good idea, it's going to be on the 11,999 bizarre and unworkable ideas that he keeps thumping on the people. A lot actually. I've done two internships and about to do a third that don't pay squat, but they are immersing me in an environment i can network the hell out of and I'm setting myself up for a career that I can get in on that is normally associated with people with way more experience than I have. instead of working as a barista at starbucks or bouncing from mcjob to mcjob like the vast majority of recent college grads I'm essentially working for free to pay my dues in a very lucrative and very competitive market. I've really been looking forward to him getting in. Rated the number one governor at one point. More foreign policy experience than anyone who was on the stage Monday. Oh, I totally agree, and I didn't mean it to come off that way. I just was noting that the democratic party was quick to place a much distance between themselves and Rep. Wiener as quickly as possible, and rightly so. It's not a commentary on the Democratic party and it shouldn't be taken that way, and Rep. Wiener should be held accountable if any house ethics rules were violated, but I don't see any reason to drag partisanship into it. Peace, love and hoppiness
