I started paragliding about a year ago and I felt very comfortable once airborne. Since learning how to kite, it really helps me when landing after a skydive or base jump to shut down my canopy behind me so it's not full of air. Makes for a quicker get away.

Do you have any areas around you with paragliding? It's pretty chill and at 34, I'm usually the youngest guy in the group.

I started skydiving to become a homosexual, so I'm mostly doing freeflying.

I've been told that articulated harnesses will conform to your body better during different body positions, like freeflying which wasn't as popular 25 years ago.

An AAD you don't understand thoroughly is testing your luck, and luck is not the right approach to risk management.

I just don't understand why you are complaining about a potential problem that doesn't exist. If they offer it for sale and don't provide any information on it, then sure, I'd understand your frustration.

Any device/shoes have minimal benefit and can be of detriment as they can distribute a impact to another location and break/stress that.

The AAD may be triggered into thinking there is a deployment before the jumper spins out and thus is just like having a normal "Pro" setting.

So now the jumper is in the same situation they'd be in if they had a regular AAD.

I was brought up to use the term "Nylon-American". The word "r*gger" is offensive to some.

I have a pair of Crispi Airborne GTX Boots that I used to wear before I was a skygod. They are pretty expensive and heavy, but have excellent ankle support and don't have hooks that could be a snag hazard.

I'm at work and don't have access to the video, but I watched it before work and I was certain that I saw him fly over the wall. Was I mistaken?

like the slat system used on an OSP or Outlaw BASE canopy is how I interpret it.

I think they meant that the mylar forms better to the suit when it inflates because it's not sewn together in the back. The slat system is open on the front and back to help airflow over the canopy in deep brakes which makes it less likely to stall. The slat system doesn't "stick" to the canopy.

My DZ offers free jump tickets when they rape my girlfriend, so I have no complaints.

If I could do it over again, I would have gotten more coach jumps in the beginning instead of doing solos. You won't get much feed back from a solo. It also took a while for me to realize the dropzone I was at didn't have much of a training program after AFF, so I had to go to another dropzone to get coach jumps.
