A friend of mine pitched his pilot chute and the bridle detached from the pin. Doh!

I did it once. I think I had 1000 or so jumps at the time. It scared the bejeezus out of me! Sitting in the plane without a rig, depending on someone else to pull... It just wasn't right! -g

I've flown crossfires loaded from 1.5:1 to 1.9:1 and had no problems landing with out having to run it out.

I was talking to a very experienced wingsuit flyer this weekend who told me that he will attempt to land a wingsuit within the next year. Can't provide any more details but if it happens, I'm sure everyone will hear about it. -g

My understanding was that black marks on the birdman's rig originally led folks to theorize that he'd hit the tire first but that subsequently folks decided that the black marks were from exhuast deposits on the stabilizer.
