  1. Really... ? i mean, come on... Lol, sorry... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  2. In turn, expect others to be hypercritical of an experienced jumper who can't figure out for himself why student cypreses are a bad idea for non-students. Indeed, but I'm not the one issuing unsolicited advice. You did solicit advice, you started this thread. Unfortunately you're not entitled to receive only the opinions you want to hear Yes, I did start this thread. You should go back and read my original post. I asked a few specific questions looking for some specific information. You haven't provided any useful information and just want to be a little bitch. Fuck off troll. Or not, I kinda like bantering back and forth with you. Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  3. Okay, I'm very curious what your new (last 600 jumps) technique is. Can you elaborate? I know larger canopies spin up too, but what I mean by it not mattering is that even if it does spin up, it's not like a diving elliptical. The line twists pretty much take care of themselves. 4. In turn, expect others to be hypercritical of an experienced jumper who can't figure out for himself why student cypreses are a bad idea for non-students. Indeed, but I'm not the one issuing unsolicited advice. Just trying to get some simple info and go have fun. Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  5. Glad to hear that. What was the problem, and what were you loading those canopies at? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  6. It is quite odd that someone who hides his own experience in his profile would question/attack the experience of someone who doesn't hide his. However, since I may not have been flying for long enough to give you any good response, please see Jeff's post above. I am certain he has been flying long enough to know what he states, and he makes the same point I would have. I would not suggest a large suit to someone who is worried about being able to fly straight while pulling. But maybe my opinion will change once I've been jumping longer. Don't take it personal. I question everything and like to argue.
  7. Crazy idea, but you may also consider stopping your turn before pitching. I think that might work! Maybe you just haven't been jumping long enough to realize that sometimes you just do stupid stuff, either on purpose, on accident, or because you're still functional, but kinda brain dead from a mid air collision, hard opening, etc. You've never pitched with bad body position in a wingsuit? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  8. Happy to oblige. You went a whole 4 months without jumping a wing. Didja go with the design you put on FB? It was nice! True, technically still current according to USPA, but I see your point. Yes, the FB design is the one I went with. 5 month lead time, so I've got until July to get comfy on the S Bird, new PC, Bridle, etc. Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  9. Ahh.....if you're expecting... What the fuck is a guy with your low experience, non-currency, and lack of understanding of skydiving gear doing in a high-performance wingsuit under a low-performance canopy? That enough smart-ass for you? Where did you get this information? I have experience. I'm been extremely current at any given date for the last five years, I'm flying high performance wingsuits because its fun. I'm flying a low performance canopy because when I pitch while still in a carving turn on my wingsuit, it doesn't matter. Thanks for filling the quota of smart ass answers from ignorant assholes with no useful information... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  10. Lol, $1400 is a lot to spend on something you've already researched and and have an idea you shouldn't be using anyway! Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  11. Wow, and I was expecting a lot of smart ass bs! Thanks for the info guys! Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  12. Yes, sir. That's exactly what I was thinking. That wouldn't be good! It didn't occur to me that a 7 cell so lightly loaded could be flown faster than 29 mph! Are you positive about this? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  13. No. Yep. No. Yep. Care to also answer the "and why?" part? or are you just regurgitating conventional wisdom as well? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  14. No. Student Cypres is designed for student type mistakes and student type canopies. What attributes of the Student model do you think would benefit someone in a large wingsuit? The ability to fire at speeds slower than 79 mph... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  15. Opinions wanted... Is the student CYPRES a better option than the expert when flying an X2 with a Spectre loaded at 1:1? Conventional wisdom would say "no", but rationally, it just seems to make more sense. Am I wrong? and why? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  16. Who's doing your modifications for the handles? Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  17. New suit design... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  18. Who the hell doesn't recognize wingsuiting as a formal discipline? Where the !@#$ are you jumping?! Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  19. Roberta Mancino flys an X2 and she's smaller than me. I absolutely love my p2z, which is my main suit, and I've made quite a few flights on the R bird, The X2 is only going to have one purpose. Traveling to XRW camps and getting into that. I figure with my feather lite frame it should be good fun, as long as I can deal with how mushy the suit will feel at my wingloading... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  20. I'm getting an X2 and was wondering what kinds of performance other super lite flyers are getting... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  21. OMG. Really? The first Reply? Please start or contribute to a thread about wingsuit progression/safety and leave this one alone unless you have some relevant info. Thank you. (but I thought for sure you of all people would vote for the Venom) Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  22. Please take the time to describe why you prefer the P2 over the R Bird? thanks Craig Sure. The R-Bird was a lot slower in flight, very wobbly with the arms pulled low, and didn't feel as stable or responsive. However, the R-Bird had much better pressurization, slower descent rate vertically, and was less tiring than the P2. It might be my lack of experience or skill, but the P2 is just easier to fly and control, and WAAAAAYYYY faster than the R-Bird! Blue skies, Keith Medlock
  23. i think i can answer that. my guess is it was designed by the company you bitched about when i met you at the wings over marl competition 2010. you told me about the cutaway system that can kill you that they created.... and if i remember right that conversation was some hours before you told me and the girl you measured about the problems that tony has in your opinion with the "friction drag" on his suits when people try to flock with wingsuits from tonysuits. remember? just to make it clear, i think pf makes really good products. but the badmouthing about birdman and tonysuits on dz´s is really uncool. a great example for marketing within our small community: airtec: they never talk about anything else than their product. they don´t need to talk about their competitors...they just talk about the strengh of their cypres.... i think thats the way..... and what concerns this thread.... jeff just asked if thats the same system that tony used and then dse said that tony copied what he saw on pia....but he apologized so let´s give it a rest.... Ha! If I'm brand A, and I'm directly competing against brand B, I'm damn sure going to be pointing out the weaknesses in my competitors' products, as well as the strengths of mine. If the competitor doesn't like this, then maybe they should address the weaknesses of their products... Blue skies, Keith Medlock
