  1. Have you ever needed more than a license? You're a citizen right? I must show my ID, when: 1. Pulled over by the police. 2. Sometimes when making purchases on my department store credit card. 3. When filling out a credit card or loan application. 4. When applying for or renewing a driver's license or passport. 5. When applying for any kind of insurance. 6. When filling out college applications. 7. When donating blood. 8. When obtaining certain prescription drugs. 9. When making some debit purchases, especially if I'm out of state. 10. When collecting a boarding pass for airline or train travel. I'm sure there are more instances, but the point is, that we citizens of the USA, ARE required to prove who we are nearly every day, multiple times a day. Now, for anyone that is a green card holder, did you know that FEDERAL law requires you to have that documentation on you at all times, and that a law enforcement officer may ask for that documentation at any time for any reason, or no reason at all. So, stop getting in a twist over the Arizona law, it actually has more protections for civil liberties than the federal precedent. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  2. Directly at the time, none. As those costs to insurers go up, it passes to premium increases or cuts later. Simple. You're familiar with TriCare, there are limits in certain instances. For most instances for active duty, the MTF can handle most of the stuff, but the Army does have it's own prosthetists or orthotic designers, etc. So some medical devices will hit some people. There are a small number of amputees still on duty, other device necessities may impact as well. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  3. I'm not sure this is correct. If the need was service connected, I would expect that the military medical facility would take care of the device. If the need was not service connected (Snuffy broke his leg skiing on leave), then I don't see why a servicemember should be treated any differently than a regular citizen. For part of my time, TriCare had to refer me to prosthetists since the Army doesn't have any. My statement was correct. For stuff that can be handled in-house, TriCare is not an issue, but the Army even bills TriCare some times (my wheel chair at Walter Reed is an example). So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  4. Only part of your statement is correct. The VA has, in the past, attempted to bill back to third party insurers if the veteran has other coverage. There was discussion about making this policy last summer. For active duty wounded veterans, who require medical devices, the VA does not cover that. It is covered by TriCare and apparently would be subject to the tax. 6. there's good public policy. If you flee the country and pay off the victim, your crime should be forgiven. The legal nuance of was he sentence to 90 days with an eval, or to a 90 day eval which was completed early, should be simple enough. When it happened. But it's a bit hard to do now, given how much time has passed. And that doesn't excuse skipping out. Who knows whatthe judge was gonna do, all we know is that he was considering rejecting the plea deal after Polanski admitted to world what happened; kinda hurts your defense strategy. The judge fucked up, the Swiss fixed it. BTW, his victim could still have asked for a pound of flesh with or w/o the settlement, that wasn't part of the deal, so the settlement is sole and seperate of the way she feels. Polanski fucked up. End of story. General comment: The girl does not get a say. The crime was statutory. It is designed to protect young girls who do not know to say "no" or do have the right to say "yes" because of their youth. I have to admit I've been rather surprised by the number of folks chiming in on the side Polanski (which, if you're using time, the Swiss, as an arguing factors, you are therefore backing Polanski). If I ever have a daughter and anything even remote happens like this, the criminal better pray he "only" gets the US justice system. 8. It would be hilarious if it wasn't such tragic-in-your-face-lying-denial-bullsh*t... This guy Bolden didn't just pull these points out of thin air. 11. Sorry....I'll fix it... ...edited.... There now, better? No. Curse you. Edit: it's a little better, but still extended. Thanks. That's gotta be your settings then...looks fine on my 14" screen laptop... 13. Well, Polanski is free and clear in Europe again... http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/politics/Polanski_will_not_be_extradited_to_the_US.html?cid=15389712 The Swiss court has ruled against extradition. 14. I tried to read the HHS regulation about what's grandfathered in/out under this legislation. Aside from the gobbledygook, one area that is clear is the table of estimates as to who will be able to keep their plans, it's very revealing (this is page 17 of the report, page 34553 of the Federal Register): TABLE 3—ESTIMATES OF THE CUMULATIVE PERCENTAGE OF EMPLOYER PLANS RELINQUISHING THEIR GRANDFATHERED STATUS, 2011–2013 .................... 2011 2012 2013 Low-end Estimate Small Employer Plans 20% 36% 49% Large Employer Plans 13% 24% 34% All Employer Plans 15% 28% 39% Mid-range Estimate Small Employer Plans 30% 51% 66% Large Employer Plans 18% 33% 45% All Employer Plans 22% 38% 51% High-end Estimate Small Employer Plans 42% 66% 80% Large Employer Plans 29% 50% 64% All Employer Plans 33% 55% 69% Notes: Represents full-time employees. Small Employers=3 to 99 employees; Large Employers=100+ employees. All three scenarios assume that two percent of all large employer plans and six percent of small employer plans would relinquish grandfathered status due to a change in issuer. Estimates are based on enrollment in PPOs. Source: Kaiser/RHET Employer Survey, 2008–2009 No matter how you slice this, a huge number of employer health plans are NOT going to be allowed to stay (so much for the promise, "If you like your insurance plan, you get to keep that plan."). You'll notice this hits small businesses the worst. 15. Oh I see, the neo-nons want a complete overhaul of congress since they are in the tiny minority, as in all incumbents out, yet it's ok to leave some of so-called non-problem kids. Yea, why disguise your, "unelect all dems" agenda with, "unelect all incumbents" when we know you and yours really mean just the dems? Did you guys really think you were fooling anyone with you, "all incumbents out" BS? Reading is fundamental. 16. But, in case you're interested... http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=176405 I've met Rep. Steve King of Iowa. He's a business savvy guy who's done a fair amount of hard work in the private sector. I personally think he's been in office long enough (since 2003), but since we're politically aligned, I personally don't characterize him as one of the problem children in Congress. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  17. I don't remember if we ever jumped together at Elsinore, but I know we've met. Kick ass while in the Navy. Hope you get to work on the deck instead of a sub, those would be some long tours I bet. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  18. Did they report this to anyone? Was there any physical evidence? Any investigation? They claim they did in some instances, and apparently they issued press releases but the press didn't pick up on anything. Again, I can't vouch for any of it, it's a documentary, so there is only one side being said. There was one lady in there, whose face was familiar to me, she was a party leader in Texas of some capacity, but I don't remember exactly. 19. Gawain

    Irony ....

Yeah, I've always thought he was a bit of a douche, but to be honest, he's made more money than you or I ever will. And, you know what they say, Germans Love David Hasselhoff. Possibly his finest work HERE. (Damn, I gotta get me some of THOSE drugs.) Isn't Baywatch the most popular series worldwide of all time or something? I never saw it myself. I thought I read/heard that somewhere. 20. care to summarise the facts that are discussed in the video as i dont have an hour to watch them all and the first mins of the first one are painfull They basically outline what they witnessed as fraud duiring the primaries and caucuses, violation of caucus rules and voter intimidation etc. The accounts seem to be at the volunteer level, local precinct level. I don't know the party rules, if true though, it would be difficult to repeat. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  21. The fruits of community organizing on a massive scale. The only good that will come from it, is that it was a one-shot deal. It won't work for the mid-terms or the 2012 general. Quite an interesting set of videos though. 22. Anything they can do to make the process easier will be better for these soldiers. Now, they need to adopt a policy that also does this for Traumatic Brain Injuries as well, since the assessments for TBI can be just as obscure (meaning no single Field Manual definition) as assessments for PTSD, and quite often, both are present. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  23. Well that is a nice spin And I know you believe it I do believe it. I am an independent (libertarian leaning). Any pretense the republicans have to fiscal sanity, discipline, or cutting spending have gone out the window long ago. At this point the republicans are the party of corporate kleptocracy. Tell me what is incorrect on this? Bush wanted the tax cuts but had to make them temporary to get them passed, otherwise legislatures would have balked at the effect on the deficit. Tax cuts are not the issue (gov revenues have went up after all tax cuts after a period of time) Spending is Both parties share the blame IMO Government revenues go up naturally. The population increases. Inflation. The issue is whether real (adjusted) revenues went up. Incorrect. Revenues are down, despite a growing population and growing available workforce. 25. You dont expect the rePUBIClowns here to actually believe in FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY do you.. The GOP talking points are all just that... Talk the talk.. but they have no idea how to walk....or run or evn crawl... the walk Given the expansion of deficit spending under Barry, sounds like the GOP have a better handle on the concept than the Dems. Well lets do some maths... Deficit when Ronnie RayGun took office.... 800 BILLION DEFICIT when your HERO left office.... 11+TRILLION I do not think its possible for Barry to run up the deficit by THAT many percentage points. That is so incorrect it's not even funny. You're misrepresenting deficit and debt.
