  1. No shit! http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/04/commodore-64-is-back-with-hdmi-out-intel-atom-chip-blu-ray.html Comes stock running Ubuntu, can run WP7, has up to a TB of memory and 4GB of RAM...and, it's made in the USA (everything but the motherboard). $595. It's all nostalgia for me, but, I still think it's cool... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  2. Happy Birthday Jeanne! All the best! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  3. If you've not been, check out Japan. If you enjoy skiing too, head up to Furano, Hokkaido, they have great skiing there. Sapporo is a nice city. The tourism will help and you'll be out of the way of recovery efforts on the main island. The sushi in northern Japan is totally other-worldly too. It's also the only part of Asia/Pacific rim I've been so I'm not too diverse. I have friends in Singapore who also have a house in Phuket Thailand. Very pretty areas as well. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  4. The forum rules note that posts can be removed for pretty much any reason without notice. That being said, you might want to just PM one of the mods of that forum and ask them (nicely) where you stepped over/if you stepped over, etc. It happens......not to me......but hey... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  5. It's a nice thought, but probably not worth it in the end. Kosovo would probably get theirs okay, but I don't know for sure. There are rules about exporting meat and stuff too, so that is certainly something that would slow things down considerably. Honestly, for Afghanistan specifically, I would send good, high-quality beef jerky, and used (and clean) dental-tools/picks (used to clean weapons). Most dentists typically cycle through sets over a predictable period of time. They're much better quality than the ones you can pick up at the PX or Clothing & Sales shops. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  6. What were you going to send? I should have asked that before "shutting down" the idea. Kosovo probably wouldn't be a problem. Iraq would take a little longer, but things there have settled quite a bit. Afghanistan is the wild west right now. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  7. Honestly, don't, especially if you're sending it to Afghanistan or Iraq. There is simply no guaranteed method, and while mail is a priority, it won't receive "fragile" care in the process. If you're sending to somewhere like Germany or Italy there may be ways, but check import/export rules about certain contents that are food related. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  8. Yepper!! Congratulations!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  9. WOW only one of those seems to imply you have to move if traffic is speeding. Virginia slower* 46.2-804(1) 46.2-842.1 requires vehicles in the left lane to yield to faster traffic; State Police say this applies even when faster traffic is speeding. Most states also have an 80th percentile rule also. Speed limits on most roadways have nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with money. School zones and hospital zones and in-town areas make sense to encourage slower traffic. Everywhere else, it's about money. There's a town in Ohio that lost its charter and incorporation because of abuse of speed zoning rules (among other things). 10. It's not the"4G" that's the issue, it's how LightSquared was seeking to use their excess allocated spectrum. They want to resell it to other service providers that don't have enough/any spectrum to use in their own offerings. It's the spectrum's proximity to GPS based (which is what LightSquared was originally licensed to use it for) services. Like Ski said, and from what I've read about LightSquared's plans over the past couple months, it's unlikely the FCC would allow this to continue, especially given the heavy-handed mood they have been in lately. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  11. I know, I'm so ashamed! She said they really do have a bigger problem with people having issues with the Torch. She said she has both a BB and an iPhone, and preferred the latter. I'm still not sold on it and I'm really sad that I lost my ringtones. I will let you guys be the first to say, "I told you so!" Andrea, just bring it back. She was lying to you. Even the Curve 3G is a huge step up from your current device...so sad. I blame Deedy for this....Ski too!!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  12. Just take it back...hurry!!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!

  14. That is so cool...like five to ten seconds in and "Door!!" So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  15. Well, when you do, let us know. I will give you an easy-to-understand background, and PM you with information. You'll not feel overwhelmed at all. 16. Always happy to help! I have no idea what my BB pin is. Well, first of all, did you get your new BB yet? So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  17. It's already built in to every BB. Nothing to add. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  18. Pay no attention to these nay-sayers Andrea. What you are hearing from these "heathens" is simply jealousy... Indeed, BBs are lacking a lot in the "wow" department, especially the past couple years, but they're still rock solid devices. Android, in my opinion is capable, powerful, busy, not always stable and now fragmented beyond repair. There is pretty much a different version of that OS on every two or three handsets on the market right now, not including the manufacturer UI's they stick on top (be it MotoBLUR, Sense, TouchWhiz...etc). Add on top of that, that Google exercises zero control over manufacturer support for the OS ongoing... Apple and the iPhone are tightly integrated. I can't argue with that. It does its work well overall, but the fact still remains that these devices have always suffered in just functioning as a phone. It's pretty easy to play withing the "Apple boundaries" though. Windows Phone 7 is also nicely integrated, but it's missing a few key things, like Instant Messaging, Unified Messaging, Multi-tasking. I still think it's neat though. webOS, absolutely, the most underrated OS on the market. If HP hits it out of the park with the Pre 3 this summer, that may actually wrest me away from my trusty BB forever. It's that good (though I would go crazy without BBM). Then there's BB. Not as sexy, but still compared to everything else, a top notch communication device, and nothing touches its email performance or IM experience with BBM. So, let us know what you pick up!! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  19. You have several choices: Curve 8520 Curve 8900 Curve 3G (9300) Pearl 3G (9100) Bold 9700 Torch 9800 ...all these are in the current AT&T line-up. The last four are worth considering (Curve 3G, Pearl 3G, Bold and Torch). Go to the store and try them out. The form-factors are that different. I love the Pearl and the SureType 20-key keyboard (that's what I would pick if I were on AT&T). However, I know I'm in the minority. The Curve 3G will have the same keyboard you're used to, and has an overall familiar form-factor. The Bold has a nicer keyboard in my opinion, better camera and overall "more". The Torch is has a sliding portrait keyboard and touch-screen. It's a nice device, and the keyboard is almost as good as the bold. Assuming you don't want a smaller device like the Pearl, then the Bold and Torch are your two best options. Of the two, I would pick the Torch. The OS is up to date (the Bold 9700 is about to be replaced, but there's been no announcement), it has a usable physical and on-screen keyboard if you want, and it's an all around very capable device. I'll even help you set it up when you get it, just send me a message and I'll walk you through it. If you get one, would you please join our BB Messenger group? We're very nice, and you don't have to moderate anything! We're that cool! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  20. There's something missing from that. Don't all hot air balloons also carry an "N" number? Therefore, he as the hot air balloon pilot is 100% responsible for you exiting said aircraft. Just as they are responsible for when they land in someone's yard (which happens all the time). You might also want to have him check his insurance because not all GLI policies cover everything for a business. Again, it goes back to the pilot if something goes wrong. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  21. I'm sad to read of his passing, but we could only keep him for so long. Fare well Buckles! Currahee! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  22. N-o-t-h-i-n-g sounds like F1.... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  23. I love the whine of the modern day Formula 1 engines...so awesome. I need to see a live race before I die... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  24. Well, if you were using BBM (which you were), and email, you were using the "data" that VZW and all the other carriers require for smartphones. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
  25. I did it in 2009 most recently, Kentucky to California. I used a service that "specialized" in moving cars for folks and while they delivered on time, for a reasonable price (about $800), it is a pain dealing with dispatchers and the truckers to be honest. I'm not saying they're all cut from the same cloth, as I've dealt with some very professional, good people, who drive long haul rigs and what-not. Every time I've moved a car though (several times now), it's a pain in the *@#&(#!*----ass. Your results will vary. The price they quoted you seems very reasonable considering the cost of diesel. Just be ready for their payment terms. I provided a credit card deposit and they required a cashier's check for the balance upon delivery. Make sure you have every phone number you can get and if possible, be as flexible as you can for delivery. In then end, the effort will save you some heartache over keeping track of your stuff. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
