  1. one of the para's said Shah was the prettiest.(shudder)
  2. The ugly one or the pret.... never mind.
  3. You're being purposeful obtuse to some other end. The Executive branch of government is where the buck stops on this issue. No, actually, it's very much a shared responsibility between Congress and the President. By Constitution, Congress has the power of the purse-strings, and passes appropriations bills. By Federal statute, the President is required to submit a proposed budget (which is to say, a proposed appropriations bill) to Congress annually. After he does, Congress then marks it up, fights with each other, fights with the President, goes on MSNBC, goes on Fox"News", and ultimately passes a Congressionally-revised budget bill, which goes back to the President for signature or veto. Then we're all fucked till the next year. Bend over and cough. Uhhhhhhhhhh......... Thank you for your input, counselor.
  4. "For many schools (particularly Florida and the SEC) the football team is the only thing the school has going for it, but the end result isn't exactly prestige." Good luck to you, sir............
  5. good point.... lots of others missed that too.
  6. You're being purposefully obtuse to some other end. The Executive branch of government is where the buck stops on this issue.
  7. Right, who'd want to hire an MIT graduate? Another MIT alum..... Read my post, and you will note I posted football/Alum. Another Kallend misconception.
  8. Ivy League schools have great programs. The Yale/Have-add game is famous.
  9. Who knows.....? But we are making a dandy case for my football/alum analogy. Seriously, at your next function, circumnavigate the room and eavesdrop. You will see the MD's grouped up complaining about the insurance industry. The financiers apoplectic about the Fed, and SEC. The lawyers.... ahhh... who cares...? Buncha crabs and pettifoggers, all.
  10. Most hiring managers don't hire enough students from different schools to really differentiate, do they? I sure didn't when I was one. I had to base it on course load, GPA, outside activities, and university reputation. As well as interview (which, of course, is also suspect, since it tends to bias the hire towards people who are similar to the interviewer, or who are just generally likeable). Yes, they do..... UofM gets the jobs in South Florida. Central Fl, Gators will do very well. Up north, Seminoles are the ticket. Unless you're a lawyer............. Try taking a UCLA-Berkley diploma to the state of Ga. and see if you get hired over a UG or a GT alum. Not..!!
  11. All true...... Nebraska, here. There's no way, I begrudge an athlete anything they gain. Athletes sacrifice a lot. Too many have no idea what goes on there. Again, there are many factors in this debate. Singling out one factor, dims the light that should illuminate the others. I reject that, as a nation, we do not try to do everything we can to assist education, students and educators. Whether or not those funds are being competently administered is another on going question.
  12. "Part of the prestige of a state (or city) is often in its educational institutions. If they reduce offerings or enrollement, that's seen as a reduction in service or educational quality." The bulk of that prestige is derived from the football team. Walk to any campus. By far, the premiere structure on the grounds is the football stadium. The problem is too complex for it to be blamed on a single factor. Social engineering by Government. Financial pressures. The full spectrum of issues a large business faces in competition in any industry. The single factor that can be addressed by a student is whether or not to take full advantage of what is available to them. I relate the story of an young Miami/ Overtown man who, instead of playing basketball and "hangin'" spent his time practicing the french horn he received from the local high school. Our young man, who was roundly hooted at by the other kids, worked and finally received a scholarship to Julliard. The first to be thanked were his teachers, and then his parents. 100% true.
  13. The mystery deepens........ Sorry if you're all pissed, and have veins popping all over....... but that stuff is not good for you. Tends to alter your........... ah, whatever, you're a big boy. Calling Dr. Kallend, Calling Dr. Kallend....
  14. Bullschidt...... You just wanted to stir some shit,as Christalsabine says. Store options....? Store options..! Complete bullschidt. you still ain't got a point to offer in this entire thread. Pathetic....... go to Mickey D's and have a burger.
  15. I dunno but most of them can read the entire post. HAH........ OK, an EM explained it. You have to drive to Mickey D's to satisfy you munchie attack, again. Enjoy it, You're a big boy, but that stuff can harm your lungs. Just sayin'......
  16. I dunno but most of them can read the entire post. What's your point?
  17. Nope. Don't want that, never wrote that. Strawman arguments don't work too well here. Walk a mile in the other guys shoes, for a moment.... You, are now a gun store owner............Yet you suspect that he's a nutter and tell him to bugger off!!! How long do you think it will take for his lawyers letter to get to you? Am I reading it correctly that a shop owner cannot refuse to sell to anyone....for whatever reason? Were I the shop owner, I'd make good use of the lawyers letter. The bird cage needs new flooring. I've heard of gun shops not selling to someone who seemed a bit off....no clue how common or uncommon it is, though. Here's the entire post. (Spinners.. What won't they do for attention?) Walk a mile in the other guys shoes, for a moment.... You, are now a gun store owner. A guy walks in and wants to buy a weapon. You obtain the buyers ID; call the authorities, and run a check...the guy is clean. It's perfectly legal to sell him a weapon. Yet you suspect that he's a nutter and tell him to bugger off!!! How long do you think it will take for his lawyers letter to get to you? Yes, this is another way of asking you the same question previously posted by others.

Yeah.... Right. Have you ever gotten a lawyers letter? If you say you have, and then ignored it..... Not believable. You may end up living in that bird cage, if you do. Calling Dr. Kallend... Calling Dr. Kallend...

  21. Supraventricular tachycardia.......? I thought you only could get that stuff in Tijuana. A little penicillin, and you're go to go.
  22. 100% true & accurate post. A rarity on SC.
  23. Thank you Dr. However, another board where opinions vary ain't history. Kinda like SC. Bull-dung flying all over the place.
  24. Getting back...... If you look at the Russian gun, it looks very similar the the US's newest gun. It should since it's design, the US gun, is a updated rip off of the Russian design. The best gun around. As far as military history.... Two words. Spanish Armada. Any questions? Debate? Let's forget whatever else you were after me about.
  25. Wingsuits often look like prom dresses in photos. TONYSUITS pink demo suits in particular. He made them that color to discourage theft. Wingsuits.... OK..... That makes sense then. Not a slam, but a good-natured zinger from an acquaintance. Thank you. That's the first reasonable post of yours to me today.
