  1. And for those who enjoy comedy: http://youtu.be/JGJ7y37pMTo Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  2. No offence but this is a HP suit and your technique is what counts, so keep practising, I would not recommend moving on to HP suits till you can do it in your sleep. Symmetry and muscle memory key, also when you are doing long flights and your more tired you need to be confident on deployment irrelevant of suit. As the suits get bigger and more dynamic the last thing you want worry about when your tired is deployment. If your ever down Dunkeswell happy to spend sometime if you want an outside camera to see if their is anything not spotted already. Have flown most suits out there over the last 12 years; seen most things before so happy to help.
  3. I can pass your thanks on next time I am at Brize Norton.
  4. A paraglider may be thinking of 500 paraglider flights which would equate to a huge amount more UV damage than 500 standard skydive descents. Personally at 500 jumps my canopies have always flown fine and had plenty of flare even at 1000. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  5. We did about 20 of these at the Herc Boogie 2002, I was outside camera and a small point I would make if there's a large group or packed exit get clean air before spreading wings. So dont bang out wings until your a second + of the back otherwise your in the aircraft burble and if theirs a group we had 3 to 4 lines deep of wingsuiters the worst thing is having someone bang out in front of you and muller you as you find clean air. Though made for some entertaining film work as the colourful spin cycle fell away and then pinged off to refind the formation.
  6. Wow I posted this ten years and 2000 jumps ago, someone must really be dredging the posts. Holy post revival batman. Have to say in ten years I agree with the posters, whilst money helps if you want it badly enough you can make it happen and just budget properly, however cash always helps.
  7. Yes, you´re right. The Skyflash will receive an integrated, rocket driven, parachute system - This will be build in as soon as we are finished with the hovering tests. Those tests will not be much higher than 1m (3ft) so that a parachute cwould not be necessary until then. We are, at the moment, considering which system to choose. Take a Skywalk Tequila paraglider, controlled by a Spektrum DX 7 for landing and the spare LiIon Battery from the Dreamliner, good to go for 3ft ASL. And please give us the rocket driven reserve, taking us close to the moon from a shity situation below 2kft... this thread is amazing You'll need an O2 system too for the altitudes your talking about plus an IFF and blackbox etc Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  8. For that I owe you a beer Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  9. Thus the reason that I no longer have a Velocity 75 in that rig (like Jay Moledzki used to as well). It's not the size, it's the canopy type. I traded my fully-sponsored Velo for a fully-sponsored Sabre2 because it was the smart thing to do as a person who fllys a wingsuit as more than a hobby. If I had to replace my Sabre2, it would be with the smallest Storm they make. Chuck It's an important point thats its fully sponsored ROFL Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  10. Unless they have a very fast production line I am guessing with 540 units ordered already waiting time may be awhile yet. Or the delay in start may just be the stand up of the production line? maybe an update will arrive while they hold all the money. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  11. Great article, thorough testing and very helpful, would be very interested in your comparison tests with the GP3 as I am looking to buy in the next 2 3 months for the new season post watching it rain till Feb ;) Thanks again for a great article, Fraser
  12. Thanks for all the answers, she is not a Pro lol but is very good ;) She is know in fact my fiancee as of last week. Thanks for evryones suggestions, well nearly everyones . Liked the idea of paying for my trips though its usually the other way round.
  13. Quick question anyone know of a DZ that has a pole dancing school on site or nearby, my girlfriend loves to travel with me but does not jump. However is a good pole dancer so bar offers of back to mine etc etc does anyone know of Dz near a pole school; and just a strip club ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  14. Audible warnings remain the primary choice for safety apllications e.g terrain / collision avoidance. Simply due to most aerial sports/activity being visually rich in data and limited in sound. So effectively audible acts as a clear channel for input. The visual media is clearly heavily used for detailed complex information but the real challenge is ensuring the pilot recieves the right information in the most readily absorbable format. This looks like an interesting step forward and it will be interestign to see if version 1 is a commercial ready solution or the first 250 are a test bed? Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  15. Completely agree my bridle is 8ft with a 26" pc and I use a roll pack for all my pack jobs. As for suits I started with a Classic II then a Skyflyer about 500 jumps then a V1, GS1, X1, and currently a V4 and a Venom. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  16. I have no mods what so ever have a standard PC and bridle and javelin odyssey. 1000 wingsuit jumps no issues, however if you like the mods go for them. At the end of the day a good throw and symetrical body position during pitch and throughout deployment will be key. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  17. How about you talk to the pople who actially taught you; since they now what your like in flying and current skills so will be best positioned to advise you. rather than a bunch of randoms like us who will tell you anything and everything but have no real point of reference personal to you however badass we all are at giving advice. ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  18. Anyway back on topic, I think your spot on, whilst design changes are likley to be incremental we are scratching the surface in terms of flight skills and control. Unlike getting in a tunnel and generating hundreds if hours for other disciplines its very hard to do this with wingsuits so we will just have to commit to those exploratory jumps. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  19. +1 For an advanced skills camp this looks like a chase flock with no slots being flown massive fall rate and direction changes and several very near misses, interesting advanced skills Dont just talk about it, Do it!
