  1. The 111 There are a handful of different ways to deploy in a wingsuit, and none are really "more stable" than the others. None are really more stable perhaps you might want to reevaluate that statement. If you seriously believe none are more stable why do you think the student position is taught and not a maxed out position. Posts stating none are more stable are ill informed and unhelpful. Basic aerodynamics dictate that there are significant stability differences between positions. The issue with all this debate is respeculation over tried and proven techniques. Unfortunately people get lazy and often fail to do basics they were taught. Common issue remains leg wings not being shut whilst arm wings are initiating a head low pitch couple with instabiloty if they drop a shoulder. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

  3. At least dozen out according to news and footage from the river looked like complete lossof power of aoa this aircraft barely missed pancaking the road and very lucky to have gone in shallow river. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  4. Is there a serious problem with deployments? I have not had one with the last 1600 wing suit jumps. So why is this even a debate, its not a step forward in safety when the system in place is already working fine. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  5. Interesting debate what concerns me more is that their are some in the muslim community who actually believe the actions in Paris were justified. When these kind of views are shared acros communities there is very little hope of any kind of integration. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02gkbls Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  6. I am assuming and I may well be wrong since your profile indicates southampton you jump at Nethers and your reference to Caravans, so am sure Nethers instructors will happily go through options with you. Am surprised they would endorse 1.48lb/sqft from jump 30 though on a reserve. http://www.bigairsportz.com/pdf/bas-sizingchart.pdf Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  7. The difference was he was not endangering an aircraft and pilot and the basic physics of crashing into card board boxes was well understood, hence having used them for decades in high jumps from building stunts in films. This is a whole other ball game, or tow line into aircraft game or wingboarder into runway, crowd game. Still the FAA are always up for high risk endeavours I am sure they will approve and certify in a heart beat. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  8. I also work in aviation but on the air accident investigation side prior to my current role. So you plan to get a helicopter to test with board pilot and at least a 150ft of rope. I am intrigued as to where you have a found a pilot prepared to risk a rope release pr break with subsequent risk of fouling main rotor. What country would allow this in their airspace? You also say you going to deploy the canopy and then cut away the rope, this will load the rope period so when you cutaway the risk of recoil and main rotor foul will be even higher. Good luck Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  9. Not a very clear poll. All suits you can do EP's without any change to zips cutaways etc. Multiple designs of suits means that to free arms your sometimes don't need to do anything some you un zip some you simply stretch. Not clear what your trying to ask or achieve here. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  10. google RESCUEPro they have a very good solution, not free but very reliable used it for years and its very thorough. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

  14. Yes O2 system for over 3 hours + heating and life support gear looked bulky, but he walked away and did it for a fraction of the red bull programme so massive hats off. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  15. Not difficult to talk to someone becomes very apparent very quickly if they have a clue what they are talking about. Not asking you to check log book. But a few simple questions like where do you jump what suits have you flown before what are you trying to achieve will reveal experience very quickly. Its really not that tough and yes they may bs you but generally its pretty obvious. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  16. Perhaps we could just apply a basic code that if they have not got the jump numbers and appropriate experience you do not sell the suit. Not difficult really and selling to those who are unlikely to ever use or know what they are really buying is pretty low. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

  21. Maybe contact the boogie organizers as well as they may know who their load organizers and coaches are who could help you. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  22. Until people who have flown both and are experienced in acro this is a pretty pointless poll. People will fall on the suit they have picked or any brand allegiance they already have hence my point that this poll is pointless. From the footage I have seen they both look like very capable suits. Knowing that virtually no one has both suits I do wonder why anyone would post one of these polls ? 25. Never needed it had about 3 mega spins over the years, all recoverable with arch or wing collapse and return to flight. I would be very wary unless all other options are gone of deploying in a back to earth head down or heavily angled attitude, lines and feet etc not a good combination. So would stick to what works unless you have zero option and at your personal hard deck. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
