  4. I didn't know Cory haim was one. I really don't follow child actors and their tortured lives. Just a shotgun statement remembering him from the 80's. Feldman always seemed to me to be the "crazy one". Maybe I just watched Goonies too many times as a kid and it rotted my brain. 5. Always thought Feldman would be the first to go. Seems being a child star is more dangerous than skydiving "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way." - Alan Watts
  6. If you use(d) one, how do like it? "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way." - Alan Watts
  7. Taken from the description: "Looking to get a little extra excitement out of those first couple of seconds of freefall? At the instructor’s discretion, you can elect to participate in some exhilarating aerial maneuvers that will have you flipping and spinning during your initial freefall." Ummmm.......Ummmmm could I have 3 exhilarating aerial maneuvers to go please....with ketchup. Ohhh and a side of flipping and spinning as well. What? Second window.....ok thanks! "Witness the vast landscapes and wide open skies, as they fly in and out of your vision, creating an exhilarating sensation that is sure to send your pulse racing!" You messed up my order, I didn't ask for a large unconsciousness!! I wanted a medium -awake at all times during freefall-. Hard to find good help these days.......geeeez. 8. I personally know the DZO in Jamaica. He started Skydive Jamaica December 09. He is a stand-up guy and I would recommend the DZ to anyone. Have jumped with him numerous times. 9. Don't know the TI but have to say that his professionalism during this jump was outstanding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPpbfhMYkS8&NR=1 "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way." - Alan Watts
  10. I love the blind assumption....makes me laugh. Thanks again from those that have flown this canopy. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way." - Alan Watts
  11. Thanks for sharing so far. As some of you have mentioned, I will demo one before I buy. I just wanted to get some preliminary feedback from the vast community that visits this board. I think it's wise that you can't always count on the manufacturers Lilly-white description of a product. Getting the opinion of those that jump the canopy day in and day out, I feel, has great value. 12. I’m in the market for a new (not used) canopy. The Sabre2 fits the bill for what I am currently looking for. However, after reading the reviews here, I am digging a little deeper. There are 69 reviews for the Sabre2 on here and the vast majority of them are more than 5 years old with some almost reaching the decade mark. There seems to be an ongoing trend in the older reviews that the Sabre2 consistently suffered(s) from long snivels, end cell closures, and off-headings. Not a deal breaker really, but I think I would simply get irritated having to deal with a line twist or hard end-cell closure turns on every opening. The problems seem to transcend experience, wing loading, packing styles, and body position. In essence, I really like what this canopy has to offer outside of that listed above. If there were a decent number of current reviews I wouldn’t be posting. What I am mainly interested in are opinions/reviews of those that have recently or are currently jumping this canopy; and that the canopy itself is fairly new (0-3) years. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way." - Alan Watts
  13. I have considerd poking a needle size hole through the Protektor and pushing the wax cord through to attach the actual altimeter to the base using one of the lanyard holes on the Viso. That way the Viso itself is attched and not just the case. Sort of a backup if anything does go wrong. The way I see it, if there is enough water to get through the pressure filled needle hole, the water has aready gotten in somewhere else. I will keep an eye on the zip's. I will likely change them out every year. It takes about a minute, so no big deal. 14. I picked up a Viso II. One thing that many reviewers didn't care for was the tie-down string provided with the unit. If my memory serves me, a couple people had it come out of the Protektor case, or come loose, when they snagged or bumped it on something. I opened up the package, saw the string, and instantly headed to the garage to do my best Tim Taylor. What I used to secure the Protektor case to the wrist strap were 4" mini zip ties. They turned out to be the perfect length and size to fit through the mounting holes. I provided a picture of my handy-work. I can say that if I'm in a situation that results in this thing being ripped off my wrist after being zip tied, losing the altimeter is probably the least of my worries at that point.
