  1. I understand what you're saying but i don't think earplugs are really going to make that much of a difference at that point. Odds are they're going to realize their mistake and fix their problem or it's going to be too late anyways. I don't think me screaming is going to make much of a difference whether or not they have ear plugs. That's also under the assumption that i see them in the first place. If they're above me while i'm under my larger canopy, it's gonna be quite difficult for me to see them in the first place depending on how high they're above me and where they're above me. Again, i know I'm still a noob and have tons to learn but i don't feel your point has much relevance here. I'm still open to the possibility that they could cause problems but in your example i just can't see how not having them in would really make much of a difference. Then again i could very well be wrong. 2. Another bad idea, but I'll let someone else explain it to him. Huh? I dont understand why jumping with earplugs is a bad idea. I'm not saying you're wrong but please enlighten me on this. I've heard from and seen(including very experienced jumpers)many people recommend jumping with them particularly if you jump an open face helmet to protect your hearing. Aside from an audible i don't know what you actually need to hear in skydving. In freefall you can't hear anything anyways and under canopy you shouldn't need to hear anything or anybody because you should have your head on a swivel in the first place. But i'm still a noob so any answers to why earplugs are bad would be appreciated. 3. This. When stuff like this happens i chalk it up to coincidence and nothing more. If you had a dream that was an exact clone of events that happened(i.e same people, places and events) AND documented said details prior to the event, i might be able to question my speculation. Until then, it's pretty much coincidence. 4. Seriously, who pays to fund these horrible movies? And why would anybody want to be seen in any of these movies? I guess if you're desperate enough to become famous, you do what you gotta do. 5. keep us posted!!! i love to mess with these guys and waste their time. It's even better when you can get them to do ridiculous shit because they think if they do it they're gonna get your money. Check out www.419eater.com. it's a site dedicated to messing with these guys. The shit they get them to do is hilarious. 6. I think the ads on this site are trying to tell me something... I just saw an ad for corsets. I think it's trying to tell me it's time for me to become a DPH! 7. Ah ok i misunderstood you there. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, all used up, and loudly proclaiming: Wow, what a ride!
  8. There are drummers that absolutely have to fill every 4 bars during someone's solo, then the 4 bars becomes 2 and the fills start earlier - before you know it the soloist is playing over a constant drum fill... other rhythm players are guilty of it too. Bad form. I personally don't think it's bad form at all. I've played in several bands personally(on drums, guitar, bass, and as the front man). Frankly, if you're gonna get upset at someone getting more attention than you are, then you shouldn't be in a band. Personally, i don't join bands for attention. I play because it's something i love to do. The attention is just a perk. However, there's ALWAYS going to be someone getting more attention than you. IMO the front man doesn't deserve any more attention than anyone else in the band. Singers are a dime a dozen(try and put an ad out for a band saying you're looking for a singer guitarist and a drummer. My money says 90% of the responses will be from singers). The attention goes to whoever can give the best show. If one of my band mates was responsible for bringing a crowd because of his wacky antics, i'd be damn happy with that fact and wouldn't care that he or she was getting more attention than me. If you want it to be all about you, do a solo act. 9. Vskydiver and I rarely go out to eat. Home cooking is 90% of our meals. I think that's one reason we stay pretty trim.

  11. I've actually thought about giving this a try. I used to weigh almost 300 pounds and got down to 215 and plateaued as well. i'd love to get the rest of the weight off. A friend of mine is using P90X and he's lost about 25 pounds and i can see results as well. Hopefully i can heal up quickly from this hernia surgery so i can give it a try. I really wanna get in shape! 12. I voted cash in everything. I feel that if i'm going to die anyways, i'd rather die as painless a death as possible all while enjoying the finer things in life in my last days. If suffering gives me an extra year or two, i don't feel it's worth it. 13. We'll get you hooked up with us & stick you in a corset & throw you out of a plane with a pimp wench. Then you take a jello shot out of some boobs. And then you're a dirty pirate hooker Sounds fantastic. I'm pretty sure i know some people who are going so i think i'm gonna make plans to be there too. Sounds like a blast! 14. What's this dirty pirate hooker madness and how can i, as a guy get in on it? Sounds like lots of fun and boobies. 15. I am 6ft and 250 lbs. I have to disagree with you on your last point. I have found many people willing to jump with me. I get to work on those RW skills every time I go to the DZ. With the suit, and swoop cords and body position, I am slow enough to jump with many people at our DZ. And as a coach I am always on the lookout for larger students and new A licensees to help out. OK. My bad for sounding so definitive.... but admittedly, you and I the other Anvil Brothers are the exception and not the rule. By the way.. have you joined yet? http://www.facebook.com/people/Anvil-Brothers/100001679884686 Are the anvil brothers just a group of big skydivers or something? Or is it something else? 17. I'm in CT and i felt it. I'm stuck at home from surgery just laying in bed and felt the bed shaking. Then i could see my blinds and fan moving so i knew it wasn't me. Pretty interesting that I can feel it all the way in CT. 18. I've driven both throughout my life. I prefer standard to automatic. I wouldnt have any problem teaching anyone, mainly because i think im a good teacher. With a little patience, i can teach someone to drive standard without them ever stalling it, grinding a gear, or burning out the clutch. 19. A friend of mine introduced me to nightwish and they are amazing. I especially love the albums which they have a full orchestra integrated into their songs. Absolutely amazing song writing. 20. I don't respond to you coming on to me ONE time and you have to make a thread about it? Geez dude. You're pathetic! 21. 210's tend to go pretty quick in the used market. I was looking for a 210 for my first canopy and the used ones on here went almost the same day they were posted. That being said, listen to your instructors and check on here every day because new canopies are posted all the time. Good luck! 23. this is true but the summer time isnt the best for it. My last visit a few weeks ago, z-hills was dead. Granted i went on a monday but it still sucked that there weren't many people to jump with. Eh, i still have fun no matter what though. and z-hills is still a great DZ Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, all used up, and loudly proclaiming: Wow, what a ride!
  24. Skydivect is open year round but we only use a cessna in the winter because our otter goes back at the end of October. However if you are still on student status during the winter it might be harder to get jumps into get your license because instructors usually like to take the winter off. But as long as the weather cooperates you should be able to get your license before that.
