  1. oh,..nevermind, I thought we were talking about fish.
  2. Did you land in a corn field? Probably pulled it in the nose when you landed. Make sure when you are gathering up your canopy you walk to it when you are coiling up your lines. Don't stand still and pull the canopy to you.
  3. Surely Anderson, IN is on the list? How could you have missed that one? Frank
  4. Like Phree said it's hard to go wrong. Send me an e-mail with where you will be living and I can send you some info.
  5. This is something I plan for. Whenever possible I always put the flat side of the belt between my leg and harness. Threading it in from the bottom. Then, if somehow you do forget on jumprun you can simply pull the buckle and the flat side of the buckle will just slide out. It also makes it a lot easier to unbuckle on a crowded plane.
  6. If I got the clicky right, here is a good example of why you tuck your shirts in. In a high speed mal I would hate to be her trying to find handles. It's about 2 minutes in. Sorry, just one of my pet peeves I warn people about, but tends to get ignored. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=5466
  7. Boy, I hope the tailgate latch is not a problem too! I just had it not latch the other day, but shutting it again got it...I'll have to watch out for that. I was holding out for a recall on the speedometer, but GM customer service got me to take it in thinking they were going to cover it...I ended up paying $250 for the IP and intermediate shaft fix. Frank
  8. If anyone has a ~2002-2004 Silverado and your speedometer has failed, check this out. http://www.topix.net/forum/autos/chevrolet-silverado-1500/TR5QAB2MN19BL1D2J/p1 If you have the problem, please sign the petition in the thread. Thanks, Frank
  9. Good choice. As others have said it's a fast turner. I have a Diablo 110 I've been trying to sell forever. I turned a chance to sell it to someone with more jumps than you have and still wouldn't sell it to a new jumper. It's a fun canopy, but not until you've had some "oh shits"! Frank
  10. I used a SkySystem Oxygen A3 for about a year without issue. However, it finally caught up with me and I had a lens rip off in a sit. Luckily I had sunglasses on underneath and I didn't get my eye scratched up by the torn plastic. Frank
  11. Reminds me of a funny line way back when I was just a student. One of the Military demo teams dropped by on a Friday afternoon. The jumped with a few of the licensed skydivers. At the end one of the day one of the demo team guys signs the log book of one of the regulars and says "I bet that's the first time a black guy signed your log book"....Regular "yes"....Demo team guy "Case of Beer!"...
  12. About 1000 and no plans to change. Only mods since 97 was to replace the spandex BOC and add a bridal cover. Still going strong.
  13. Unless you're using a real short runway not having flaps shouldn't have been a big deal. IMO landing without flaps presents much less risk than opening the door with a possible open container in the airplane. Very short old runway!!!!!!!!! Who said he had to use THAT runway. Land somwhere "safer" and fix the plane...
