  1. the flight felt like forever, iv'e done a few 3+ minute flights and after looking at my alti at 10k i was thinking aaaaahh this is gonna snap my arms off Even after very carefull prep with quality equipment the unexpected still happens, every couple of breaths the valve froze enough to stop exhilation, i was worried about inhaling but this was just as un-nerving, forcing the air out that then freezes in the mask. i would recomend to anyone to go and make a hi alt jump for the experiance. The O2 cylinder placement can be tricky with a wingsuit, frasers GS-1 was roomy enough to strap it inside but the S3 is a little fitting for that all in all well worth the effort. 2. Took this at Hercules boogie 2004 solo wingsuit guy getting out after a 16 way flock, i happened to be on my way down past the herc and got this. Fordy

  9. Hello Jarno, sounds like you had a blast, what's the chances you and J-lo and any of your w/s buddies meet us in texel later this year for a high altitude w/s boogie 15,000ft, 2 caravan loads of uk w/s flyers coming over to play all weekend, andy scott, myself with max + loads of our winged brethren... fancy it.. e-mail me Fordy Fordy
  10. We held an impromptu w/s seminar at weston this weekend as the winds were gusting 28's and the topic of mini suits, half suits with grab wings came up, as tom puts it at the end of his post, the lines become blurred... If you want to wingsuit then get the jumps in and get trained, it's not just the flying of the suit but the experience and awareness for the bigger picture needed that only comes with jump numbers. The BPA have adopted guidelines that were plagiarised from the uspa s.i.m manual & proof read by a couple of experienced w/s flyers. Many CCi's are still uncomfortable with W/S as a discipline and that's why the guidelines were sent in to help them before they said no altogether. Rocking up to your local DZ with a mini winglet suit or the like you will most probably be directed straight to the local BMI who is unlikely to go against the guidelines. Another happy 1st time wingsuit flyer this weekend, mike hayes grinning from ear to ear in flight, and to think he flies Jags all week and w/s gives him a buzz... Fordy Fordy

  13. Thanks for that vesa The "Hand dirtdiving" came about when jari and my group joined for a day to make some bigger formations and we tried to fly a 9 way wedge with the exact same formation 6ft above to create an awesome 3D V formation, some confusion in the group and the lack of a whiteboard to put the message across during the dirtdive ended up with the flying your slot with your hands to get the visual idea (and see who hadn't grasped the formation)... the formation was exceptionally hard to fly... but great fun trying.
  14. Hey Gus, yes there are 2 wingsuit events this weekend, The Hib wingsuit festival with craig, andy scott and myself organising and coaching all levels of flyer. Sibson also decided to put an event on this weekend including a female wingsuit formation record. maybe see you over the weekend... Fordy Fordy
  15. It's no different than a ringsight on a camera helmet, it's so close to your face you don't really see it... and in photo's it makes a great flying advert.. will see if poxon the computer geek will help me get some pic's of the 17 way we flew this morning... beautiful.

  18. I was at perris all weekend, BUT... grounded myslef last week with a ripped shoulder muscle and didn't want to push my luck as it seemed to be easing (didn't jump till tuesday) and i had my uspa AFF eval course this week.. I saw a guy in a SF3 with Orange wings getting kitted up but he was busy and i was sulking so I carried on I was the guy in the Orange Jacket wandering aimlessly around with a book, sat in the bombshelter on the net or just eating through sheer boredom.. Having completed the AFF course after a ground prep tomorrow I will be taking to the skies on my wings for some fun.. Fordy Fordy
  19. I would like to join you as i am at perris for the foreseeable future.. did a couple with Greg the packing chap the other day.. had a laugh as he was trying to fly on his back for the first time.. Fordy
  20. just so you know, Sunpath only make 1 size P.C and it is F1-11 in black. I think it is a 30" which is perfectaly acceptable for that canopy size for wingsuit flying. For other disciplines maybe it's airing on the large side. just my opinion Andy ford Fordy
  21. It has happened to me once that the pc came out while backflying. ouch... backflying and having a premature.. tell me you have that on video, i'm cringing at the thought Fordy
  22. The largest I know of was 27 at the Herc Boogie of which you speak. I think we can break it with two planes at Eloy this year, though. We did some nice 15 way going on at weston a few weeks back... the 27 way was awesome but ragged, it's tough to say what constitutes a flock as there is always distance between the lead and the stragglers.. when does a flock become a massive cloud of solo's??? Herc boogie 2002 there were 30 wingsuit flyers, there are already 15 brits going to the 2004 to cruise the skies... should be able to get a wicked flock building up during that week. As for the origional thread, there are about 10 winged people at my home dz. Fordy Fordy
  23. Has anyone used the Kodak 14n pro??? on paper this camera with 13.9 mp looks awesome. Have been using the C 10d and love it, but the quality of the 14n is grabbing my attention... anyone?? Fordy UK Fordy
  24. that's ok for you guy's across the pond who get a zillion feet as standard... from 12,000 we brit's have to eeeek! out the extra altitude to get the same sweet flight times did some niiiice 1 on 1 today and had a blast. Fordy Fordy
