  1. So I ought to just take it off of the wide angle for jumping then? Thanks for the help. Austin
  2. I just bought a new wide angle for my PC105 and it has Macro on it.....What does this part do? Do you all generally use them? thanks Austin
  3. I find this line to be the biggest cop-out on the face of this planet as for why people are "becoming" violent. The reason for more violence is the lack of parenting. I have always watched violent movies, whether they be of "action" or "horror" genres. Does that fact alone make me more prone to violence than anybody who doesn't/hasn't watched these movies?? DEFINATELY NOT. People need to teach their children that there are consequences to actions and that there are proper ways to treat other people rather than just blaming their lack of self control on movies/TV/video games. Austin
  4. The PC 105 from Broaway for $639 is PAL and takes 3-4 weeks to arrive...I talked to them today about this when ordering mine..the U.S. warranteed, NTSC version is more like $75 more than this particular model, which by the way, they do not mention at all on their website... Austin
  5. Angela, I used to be pretty caught up in keeping A's on my transcript, all the way through multivarbiable calculas and differential equations..Then I got to the advanced classes in my major (Aerospace Engineering) and I realized that the B's I'd gotten in some of those earlier math classes really weren't THAT big of a deal. It's just like jumping.. all you have to do is relax. I NEVER stay up all night studying for tests, and I do my best to not get stressed out over the test or the results of the tests. Now it's my senior year (one more semester) and I'm having a much better time since I don't dwell on things. Austin
  6. Do you have any pics of your setup that you could share? Austin
  7. I remember seeing that somebody on here had side mounted a TRV 19 and was wondering if many other people had side mounted these style cameras since Bonehead sells side-mount dboxes for the new TRV cameras. If you have, are you using the dbox? what has been your experience with the side mounting? Thanks. Austin
  8. I know about the issue with updated electronics, but still I think its pretty poor business to just tell a customer that "you just have to buy a whole new unit" rather than taking care of their product not working with newer equipment. Austin
  9. I have this same problem with my TRV22, my cameye worked with my TRV8 but not with my new camera. The cameye people said that to fix it, I just have to buy a new one. They sure (not) did take care of me as a customer............ Austin
  10. Hey Mike, My aerospace professor designed the P180, and it is the fastest cruising turboprop in production....but not quite as sexy as the Cessna Citation X!!! Austin

Joe, You contacted me via email about my safire, but your email address doesn't seem to be working when I reply, send me another email with a phone number to reach you so we can talk. Austin
  12. I just got my TRV22 in the mail today, and my cameye isn't working correctly with it. When I turn on the camera with the cameye plugged in, I can make it record, stop recording and turn off the camera, but I cannot make it turn the camera back on... Has anybody else had this happen? I'm thinking that maybe my cameye has a problem with it or something. Austin
  13. Well, I was one of the two guys that LouDiamond was referring to in his post...and yes, we both totally blew away our friend tracking in his RW suit like he was standing still. He said that we got so far away from him that it was hard to see us. Needless to say, my girlfriend is happy that I ended up buying the stock blue, yellow and black pantz that they had (which happened to match my rig perfectly also). Kick ass product all the way, can't wait until I can try the Birdman suits!! Austin
  14. I never actually met Rob, but I bought a camera suit from him about a month or two ago, and so talked via email to him. He went completely out of his way to make sure that I would be happy with the suit that he was selling me, saying that he "guaranteed" that I would like it. Blue Skies, Rob

    Made my 100th

Yeah, I know that Bob's girlfriend taped our landings and my girlfriend did also, but she didn't realize that it was on manual focus so when she zoomed in, it's a little fuzzy (which may be a good thing). But if Bob or I are there, it shouldn't be any problem getting you a copy. Too bad we didn't get the pieing on there though Austin

    Made my 100th

Congrats again Shaun! it was a pretty funny jump really. There ARE TWO videos of the landings floating around now though (my girlfriend videoed us landing with my camera). Austin
  17. Hi. I had to make a somewhat similar decision about 2 years ago when I transferred to KU. I was going to school at the Unites States Merchant Marine Academy (one of the 5 Federal service academies). I was 1.5 years into it, had just finished sailing around the Pacific Ocean for 100 days, and determined that Marine Engineering (i.e. working in the engine rooms of 900 ft container ships) wasn't for me. All AFTER I put up with the entire Plebe year. The difference in price turned out to be just about as bad, even though Kansas is not too bad for in-state (I'm originally from KS), as I had previously had the government paying for everything. However, I "knew" that I wanted to be an Aerospace Engineer, and KU is a good place to do that, so I transferred here and I SHOULD finish next May, with the only big penalty being that it will have taken me an extra year, and I have to work in order to do anything else (but now I do get to skydive ) So I say go for it if that's what you really want to do. Austin Go Hawks!
  18. It looks like you have put some thought into your assessment of canopy flight. I just wanted to point out one thing about your comment on flaps. Lowering flaps on an airplane does not automatically increase the angle of attack of the wing. This may create a pitching moment, however, this pitching moment would usually be countered by application of other flight controls (i.e. elevator). Lowering the flaps on a wing simply increases the camber of the wing, which in turn, increases the the lift produced by the wing and makes it possible to provide more lift at lower speeds. Austin
  19. Marc, What mod did you have done to your safire?? I jump a Safire 189 and am just curious. Austin
  20. I went and checked mine out yesterday, and it does actually have stows on the top, I just never noticed them. I may give them a try on Saturday and see if I like those better than the ones on the side. Austin
  21. I was there last year, would like to go this year, it just depends on how much money I have left after Rantoul. Austin
  22. When did Wings start getting the line stows on the top of the d-bag?? I got my Wings like two years ago, and my d-bag just has the four locking stows, then the others are on the side like most other d-bags I've seen. Austin
  23. Bigbird I think you're probably more likely to die driving because you think that you need to hold up signs to other cars that say "ugly punk bitches" Austin
  24. I'm pretty sure that there's no LANC port on it. Austin
