we both work with gopro 4 black in 4k using sony vegas pro 13, We use 4k for the frame grabs. My I7 seems to struggle playing unedited 4k choppy even with dual video cards and 16 gig of system ram, My laptop does not have a solid state drive. Just seems strange that a $1000 macbook air did a smoother faster job in Imovie than ours did in Vegas 13. Perhaps it's a setting in vegas but just trying to get a handle on why rendering times would be twice as long for 720 uploaded to youtube.

A friend just took back his $2100 laptop because his girl friends 1000 Macbook killed it on rendering times and 4k playback. We both are weekend organizers, looking to speed things up a bit. I have never had a mac, so is this typical? Not into mac/windows bashing
