  1. Like i said guys
I dont want to start another debate thread.
the chart referenced one particular canopy...
I want it in order to underline to canopy piloting students... (not swoopers) that hard and fast rules do not always apply and that they need to explore and learn the performance envelope of their individual canopies for themselves...

I have been searching like crazy for this chart and im beginning to hope i didn't dream seeing it ;)

  2. Hey
I saw a chart somewhere that detailed glide distance for a particular canopy on rears and on brakes in various upwind and downwind situations in various wind speeds.

I cannot find it anywhere now...
anybody got a link or a copy?

BTW im not starting another rears v toggles debate here its just the chart as i remember it would be handy for giving students an example of how things vary depending on conditions and that hard and fast rules conventions don't always hold true

  3. Hey
i haven't had a chance to jump it yet
Ireland has been under a huge thunderous raincloud for the past two weeks :<

The box came with a one of cookies camera mounting screws
and there is a hole in the bottom to suit
the lense fits the opening exactly so there is little scope for the camera too shift around.. couple of mill maximum
i also cut a little notch in the front for my hypeye cable
the box closes perfectly with everything in the positions you see it in the pictures

I am considering another helmet and setup for video and stills so the direct mount on my Rawa is temporary

  4. I arrived home from the DZ last night to find my brand new Cookie HC3 Box and .5 Lense waiting for me B|
    it is Sweeet !
Smooth design closure system is surprisingly secure
Perfect camera and lense fit with the liquid .5 and my Royal .3... all the same anyway i know....
Loads of room for larger batteries
Cameye or Hypye fits neatly as the box closes without having to remove or bend the plug covers..

I still have to mount it yet but its looking good so far

    Nice work From Cookie ;)

  5. Thats it....
    No! damaging the flaps
No! caring about the door being slammed back
No! more skydiving from the porter
    No! packing in the hangar
No jumping unless a tandem load goes first
No! making the plane go around for a second pass
Yes! you must take the downwind spot into the next county.
No! need to bother to check the spot just door and GO!
No! The porters has right of way on landing
Yes! it needs to get down quick to sit for 10 mins on the runway waiting for the next load of tandems or a group who are on a magical mystery boarding call.

Any similarity of people or situations in real life too the situations described above are purely coincidental

  6. Hey great posts
im convinced on getting a HC3 now
i was just geting really confused studying the difference between CCD and CMOS..

That settings advice on the HC3 would be nice?
and if you could tell us what kind of wide angle lens if any was used?
i think asking questions about settings is useless
if you are going to stick a single piece .3 wideangle on your camera anyway.

Also if you happen to know does HD remove the differences between PAL and NTSC formats
is there actually NTSC HD and PAL HD?

its about time you yanks upgraded from NeverTheSameColours anyway ;)

  7. if you are staying for three years buy the ntsc camera
its cheap enough especially with the uk / us exchange rate and in three years consider selling it before you leave and upgrade
its not worth the hassle having anything else other than ntsc in the us

if you burn them to dvd there should not be any problem when you go home

take all your ntsc tapes back to the uk with you they will play in a pal dv camera anyway
use adobe premier pro to convert the lot into pal
