Jay Stokes - most jumps in 24 hours going on NOW
Scrumpot replied to docjohn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
2:03 Each minute also equals 60 seconds, so 2.057 is not 2:05, it is 60 seconds X 2.057 as max time limit per jump cycle, to make 700 in 24 hours. Must complete each single jump cycle within 2:0342 to be more precise - but who's counting? Oh yeah, that's right... EVERYBODY IS!!! Wonder where he is going to make up his time? At 2:18-19 per jump, he will clear his old record of 640, but he won't make 700. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
You'll be safe on it how? ...You were just told several times, that it is NOT a good idea, and NOT to jump it at under 1.4. One post even a cut-n-paste directly from the mfr. But it sounds like you're just gonna do it anyway. I just love what people call, or consider (or somehow self-justify) as "safe" ...even after they've been told differently/better! - Whatever. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

If this has already been said, my apologies, as I've not thoroughly read through all the replies, but... One other thought on this, just outside of raw "performance", should be your gear's physical set up. If you already do not have either slider bumpers, or some sort of other (like slink "hats") stops on your risers - that "stops" and holds your slider above the links - then it is my opinion that regardless of performance desires/results, you should always pull your slider down below/past the links.... OR have those stops/bumpers in place to retain it above. ...Either, or. There have been documented incidents where gear set-up is such that the slider can be pulled below the links (i.e. no either bumpers or stops), but the pilot chooses to leave the slider above - which IMO is not using/having your gear configured correctly for your intended use, and again... could cause you "incident". (by the slider unintentionally passing the links, and "locking" a toggle). If you don't intend to pull your slider down, then have hats/stops. If you don't have hats/stops - then do pull your slider down! coitus non circum - Moab Stone

You are right. My mistake for inadvertently adding the "i" to my post. The OP was referring specifically to the Rebel T3, and that is what I meant as well. The T3i is in fact a "variant" on the T3. The T3 (non-flip screen/12.x MP) has the SD card bay on the bottom. You are quite correct, that the T3i (flip-screen/18.x MP) has the SD card bay, on the side. My bad, for the typo, and causing the resultant confusion. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

It's right next to "reply", and on my tablet, I came even close to clicking it here... on my (post wisdom) mentor hero, Wendy!! Here's a 5th nomination, for an "are you sure" and why... being needed prior to actual just click-bam, submit. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

No, and that is precisely the problem here, that is causing the issue / concerns. The T3i's access bay to the SD card is located on the bottom of the camera body. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Yes, one of the members of our video staff at Chambersburg shoots the t3i with the goldmember quick-release plate, and does the screw/rotation thing (I think) sometimes - or uses the USB connect which is on the side (slow) - either way, slows the works down whenever he/it is in the rotation. Save bucks elsewhere... a perfectly good or refurbed even xti is IMO anyway - a better practical solution for the application. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Heads up to AFF-I's in New Jersey or Nearby
Scrumpot replied to AviationTD's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
I am an AFF-I, based out of Chambersburg Skydiving Center, in Chambersburg, PA. I/we have trained deaf skydivers at CSC in the past. John Woo, a deaf skydiver himself, and many of his deaf friends, including students - are (fairly) "regulars" at CSC. Subject to the same capabilities evaluation I would give any and every AFF student/candidate (i.e. just the fact that you are deaf would most certainly not preclude you, in of itself - or even intimidate me in the least personally, for that matter) ...I would be more than happy to both AFF ground school you, and take you there. I have also already confirmed this as well... just so as to not waste your time - with the DZO's. If you have someone who can communicate for you over the phone - please simply call the dropzone manifest at 866-JUMP-USA (586-7872), and mention this post and schedule. Alternately - If you would like to reach me personally by e-mail, and I will be happy to facilitate everything for you - my personal email address is: wgspurrell-at-verizon-dot-net. I will look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully soon -welcoming you to the skies, and our FAMILY! Blue Skies, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
New action cam model from Sony , AS100V

Have any of you guys just tried doing the job without steadyshot turned on at all, be it with either this ASV, or any of the CX series of cameras - and then, when/if you have - what have been your results? coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

Doesn't seem quite so simple as either you, or I otherwise might assume. This is from Trunk's (the owner of Hypeye) direct response to me, from the other thread and my inquiries made of him, noted: coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

No, the Multi Terminal to AVR/D Adapter to connect this to a Hypeye, will unfortunately not work to allow the Hypeye to either control, or even provide visual status indication, unfortunately. See my other thread on the subject, where Trunk of Hypeye responds directly on this. Sony's updated hard-wire access protocols have all changed 2013 forward, so that sadly, Hypeye's are no longer compatible with ANY Sony video cameras mfr 2013 or later. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Best Current Sony - Compatible with Hypeye D-Pro?
Scrumpot replied to Scrumpot's topic in Photography and Video
I've corresponded directly with Trunk on this - asking him in fact, quite specifically about this adapter, and this was his response: I purchased a cx240, only to find it completely incompatible with the Hypeye - even unfortunately, with this adapter. Bleh. Back to the drawing board.... coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
Definitely worth repeating, with emphasis added!! OP - Correct me if I'm wrong, but your added quote (paraphrase) that "it took a little twisting to pull it/get it clear" indicates to me that you went even further - to take this off your back and then manually fully extract/clear this lock? ...WHY??. HUGE MISTAKE!! At your experience level, now effectively diagnosing what actually caused/was causing this - is lost; and as you are even already seeing in here - by just watching the video (at least you did that much ...even if it was originally intended to only "entertain" yourself) all is left is guesswork/speculation. Good for you for wanting to learn your gear - but to (effectively) do that - you need to do this in front of someone else who themselves already actually knows gear... i.e. YOUR RIGGER! Not just members of your whuffo family. Hopefully now, you are still able somehow, to get full / accurate diagnosis. coitus non circum - Moab Stone

Damn the SIM pisses me off at times!

Negative! FIFY - Absolutely no one who does not themselves have an active, current AFF rating, and known capabilities as such to me personally, is lurking any AFF dive that I'm involved with. Regardless of their other cumulative jump #'s / supposed experience. coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

Yeah - what she said... beat me to it! What is being used for remote rec/pause and visual status indication with such, if not a Hypeye? I'm now "invested" in 2 Hypeye's, and would hate to think I just simply burned a $100 bill, and it now won't even light my cigar!! coitus non circum - Moab Stone -

Best Current Sony - Compatible with Hypeye D-Pro?
Scrumpot replied to Scrumpot's topic in Photography and Video
Just what the title says... I had just typed a long narrative post with a bunch of backstory as to why I am asking, but perhaps the internet gods intervened here saving you all that, by crashing my computer just before being able to post. For reference, my current set up over the past 3 seasons has been a CX210 in a top-mount bonehead flattop box, controlled via Hypeye D-Pro. I like the built in expanded FOV the 210 gave, over either the 150/160 series', but none of the above seem current production available. Suggestions? TIA, -Grant coitus non circum - Moab Stone -
