  2. Does anyone know if Felix has made any statements about stabilizing after his spin in the thin atmosphere? I guess I'm just wondering if it took any extra effort or talent or if it was just a matter of the normal arch and relax once he hit the part of the atmosphere that was thicker.

  3. Are you talking about sticking a go pro to ur helmet and jumpin with it or are you talking about trying to film tandems? (FYI Im not a pro camera guy) I started jumping my go pro around 100 jumps and at my DZ doesn't have any requirements for minimum jump numbers except to refer to the SIM. I havent heard about DZ's having policies for fun jumpers jumping a camera like a go pro or contour... IMO its not a big deal but Im sure Ill get hammered by some Nazis for saying that

  5. no actually I've been static line jumping for 14 years and am a military static line jumpmaster. And I will take that back to an extent... yes my experience with PLFs has helped me but thats it. I have no idea what you are talking about in terms of it being the same as freefall with canopy control. military static line canopy control has nothing to do with sskydiving canopy control. So obviously you've never done a military static line jump.

  6. Thanks! I'm not a number chaser by any means but i was curious. Although I am new to this sport my personal opinion is that static line jumps, unless executed during a static line progression course, should not count towards USPA licenses or ratings. Except for confidence building (jumping from low altitudes) they provide no skill building or relevance to our sport.

  7. The SIM defines a skydive as:

    SKYDIVE: 1. n. The descent of a person to the surface from
    an aircraft in flight when he or she uses or intends to use a
    parachute during all or part of that descent. 2. v. To jump
    form an aircraft with a parachute.

    So my question is, why dont military STATIC line jumps count as skydives in my log book or towards jump numbers? My military freefall jumps count but not my static line jumps. They meet the criteria of the definition. Just curious. Thanks!

  10. I'm not omniscient but ive been through it all before... she's cheating... Ya know.. walks like a duck/ talks like a duck... and even if she's not her behavior is not conducvie to a healthy relationship or someone who respects you. Cut away and don't give her the satisfaction of even pretending like you care. Lots of fish in the sea and this one is not worth anymore of your time or energy.

  13. Got a Go Pro less than a month ago and absolutely loved it. I bumped it during a dive exit (not very hard) and bam it was gone... adehesive mount stayed attached but the camera and joint mount were gone. Really made me mad. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than dont bump it) on how to prevent this? Or perhaps a better camera within the same price range? I know about 5 others who have had the same experience and it seems that a camera designed for extreme sports wouldnt get ripped off so easily. Thanks....

  14. so i did my 100th today.. yes i know... beer. I was watchin the videos of the jumps i did today and while for the most part i flew ok today i did notice myself not doing some things. My legs were frogging out and i didnt have good strong legs like i ususally had when i just got my license. So i guess my question is, have any of you all had a time early in your skydiving career where you had gotten more comfortable flying and started becoming complacent about the basics of body position?

  16. I just bought a used mamba that is in great condition and I cant figure out how to open the visor.... like i said its in great condtion so Im tryin not to force it... Sincerly, Retard

  20. Yes.... after attempting one more time to correct the malfunction. i guess just so you do it the same everytime... why? is that technically wrong or potentially dangerous? The only other total malfunctions i can think of are pack closure and hard rip cord pull

  22. military beer rules for firsts are ridiculously comprehensive! I think the logic behind it being a cutaway is that a floating ripcord is considered a total malfunction... the rip cord is out of its housing and i guess technically the main pin could potentially free itself at any point so you pull the cutaway and reserve handles as with other malfunctions.

  24. So in military freefall school I was doin an O2 jump and to make a long story short I ended up with a floating ripcord and my O2 hose was preventing me from locating it. So I performed cutaway procedures. Since my main container never opened is this considered a cutaway or just a reserve pull? Just wonderin because someone said i owed beer for my first cutaway so I wanna make sure no one tries to get me again if i ever actually have to cutaway my main. ;)

  25. Thanks everyone... Great advice... I was conflicted about payin money for tunnel training but I think thats one thing Im gonna have to shell out money for... and from now on I will be annoying the hell out of the experienced people to let me jump with them B|
