I turn off my cypress, but most of the time I leave the viso on...Julio Cesar

you have to follow more steps, access the logbook information then hold the square for 5 seconds, find the OFF screen and only then you press and hold the up and down....
I know, its a pain and most of the time I leave it on...Julio Cesar

don'k know if it's something you can use in planes, but we use some kind of flame retardant foam, it comes in rolls and have glue on one side, 20mm thick and noise suppressor.Julio Cesar

we have a nice dz, huge landing area, they say it is 850m long all grass, a pilatus porter and a c182. If we could have a few more good sunny days during the year, would be perfect to me...Julio Cesar

QuoteI think...max velocity is not necessarily at the bottom of the lines because the slider may slow down considerably before hitting the risers. Also the slider may reach its max velocity very near the starting point depending on how the canopy opens.
ok, i got it.. so the slider hits its vmax and then (maybe by the friction generated) it slows...Quote
As far as stretching goes, all of the stretching should take place in the shrunken areas...
I think the fiber is a "plastic" and the place it shrink will get "harder" and deform or restrict the stretching to more "softer" areas...
Sorry if I'm having a hard time to understand all this, and causing any trouble to the thread..Julio Cesar

QuoteQuotethe lines will build up heat from the top down on the lines,
How do you make this conclusion?
well, I assume the slider will accelerate as it start its descent...Quotewhenever you stretch it again you can't control where it will happen,
"Control" may not be possible in the strict sense, but it might be that the areas that shrunk are where the stretching will occur. It depends on the mechanism of how the fibers shrink, and what happens during stretching.
The lack of interest by some to want to know is, interesting.
hum... I'm not against any way of doing it, just curious about the thread....Julio Cesar

I know nothing about line strength, but the lines will build up heat from the top down on the lines, making me think the lines will be shrinking more on the bottom. and whenever you stretch it again you can't control where it will happen, so it will be weakening more some part of the lines (maybe bottom?) while the stronger (top?) will stretch less....
and again, I'm just following the thread and trying to see the scenario on real life....

I have a full face and like it, it fog sometimes but only after a minute or so under canopy and cold weather. prefer to jump a full face when doing any formation, don't want to be kicked on the chin...

I had a few times in SL.. but no more than half twist on freefall rigs.. I think if you are stable on opening time, that won't happen in student canopies... let the more experienced say more...

I paid 1200 euros for a rig and 1250 for a cypress... get in touch with a few guys on your dz, they may find something cheap.

all i could see is the guy complaining about a neck pain... but some people say that your balls can nearly hit your toes...... If I have a hard opening will be posted here, but after all my crazy packing jobs, I don't think will have....

I have a sabre 150 and it open and fly great, I know it can slam me sometime, but I don't take any care on the packing, sometimes look a trash pack, still open fast but not like a bomb. a friend jumps a 135 and he is always been hammered by the canopy... I think some are blessed with a good sabre....

I have a galaxy, but a viso2 is on its way now... my galaxy got some moisture and the faceplate faded, it was a PD logo and I think it was printed and Alti2 wanted over 50 euros to fix it....I like the galaxy anyway

I read as much as I can, but last weekend I had a canopy course and I could really experience what Brian and many very experienced pilots say. there are so many options to be used under canopy and so many little tricks to improve safety and also give a lot of fun.
