I have been looking around the interwebs and haven't seen anything, but I certainly could have missed something.

    Chuck's gear shop is offering

Nova main canopies 2 for 1

plastic reserve ripcords for $3 (while supplies last)

    blast handles 70% off

and just in time for Christmas....

Tom Piras signature Cypres AAD's (no batteries needed) just $599:o

  2. +1
And I Have at least 1000 jumps on both.

Most jumpers that (think they) want a stiletto are wannabe swoopers. For that purpose, the stiletto pretty much sucks and there are way better options for that these days (sabre 2 for instance). A stiletto is fun to fly though, if you don't wingsuit and don't swoop, why not get one?

A Sabre 2 is in no way close to the caliber of a stiletto :S

True: a sabre 2 is a much BETTER swoop canopy than the stiletto.

  3. Tim, you know I don't base, but why would someone hold the PC near their head than rather at their hip?
Wouldn't a "normal skydiving" throw tend to pose the least entanglement hazard? Or do base guys think it effects opening heading or something?

Well, up is one thing, but if you toss it *forward* while belly toward the ground, it's easy to get it under you. Head low, same thing. It is nice to toss the PC up or up and forward but it doesn't always happen. You can take a 2 there, but most seem to take a 1/2 to 1 1/2.

I have about 37 jumps from the exact tower so far, Short delays of 1/2 second are common there.

Many people I've seen jump (not just at the Alor Setar Tower), hold the pilot chute right next to their ear on their shoulder. The slack in the bridle is fairly prominent. I'm not surprised a bridle finally wrapped a go pro and I have every intention to modify my set up.

Is it possible that I will never be able to "get it?"

Every time people shows me various packing methods they make it look so easy. Then when I try to employ these methods on my own I turn it into a hot mess.

I can get everything laid down onto the ground okay. It's getting it into the D-bag I have trouble with : \

I was hoping not to be someone who pays a packer EVERY jump either.

just keep trying, in under 1000 pack jobs you will "get it" ;)

My recent dive flows are something like; Exit (working on getting head out cleaner...the recent mix of planes made that a little hit or miss). Go onto my back and watch the load for a few seconds. Start working on sit fly...back onto belly between 7K and 6K. Turn 180 and track until 3.8K - 3.5K.

If you are doing solos, tracking is not required, in fact if you are indeed tracking from 7k->3.5k you may run into other groups unless you are very careful to track off jump run.
