  1. No. As the old saying goes: "Your next 2 paychecks, and half of every paycheck after that."
  2. you need to install Java(tm) http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp That may not be the correct URL, so google for 'jre download'
  3. I HIGHLY recommend it, once you are mature enough "not to fuck it up". At 20 I wasn't, at 30 I wasn't at 40 I wasn't, now I think I am. My wife (although not a jumper) is GREAT, we have TONS of fun. For example, our favorite quote about marrige is: "Marrige is when you finally meet someone you want to annoy for the rest of your life" But we are probably a corner case, we both got married (first time for both of us) at 50 and neither one of us had baggage. Seriously
  4. Gareth Holder still has an airworthy one and was letting people jump it at a fundraiser we had a little while ago.
  5. Personally I think that if these guys want to bust the stack because "my parachute comes down so fast" they need to land away (except on the sunset load ;). Just because they have a high descent rate does not override the fact that the lower canopy has the right of way. Kieth is really good about this BTW.
  6. I don't think I'd want to do that, a camera suit would make me fly very different than normal RW so I feel I wouldn't be able to provide a good example for the student. Better to let a floatier coach take that one.
  7. The shorter line length will make the canopy more responsive (turn faster) The same amount of toggle input will result in a "tighter" turn. 1.2 is (in my humble opinion) not unreasonable WL but the shorter line length will make any "panic" moves more likely to cause serious injury or death. Be Safe, Have fun.
  8. Was this the Vision (which I found very similar to a Crossfire2) or the _other_ new canopy which I had a chance to jump at Rantool but ran out of time
  9. I disagree, doing RW in a freefly suit is not a good idea. There is generally too much drag on the legs with a freefly suit, and I have seen people on the outside float up and over because of this. Recently there was a guy who did this on a 36way I was on, he was cut.
  10. I've refused coach jumps with very light students. Sometimes fall rate still suprises me though
  11. The hell with food, that $20 is a jump ticket!
  12. Javelin, you can buy a better container, but you can't pay more ;)
  13. Computer nerd with 30 years experiance. Whenever I get laid off ( :) ) I pack.

Done do it unless her landings are DIALED, or you might not be getting any for a while ;)
  15. Comfortable: immediatly, I mean I GOTTA be myself, don't know how to be someone else ;) Secure: Buy a ring ;)
  16. He's the guy that was flying camera for Carl Doherty at WFFC this year. German or Eastern European accent. Please PM me. Thanks
  17. I agree that if things were handled correctly in the field there would not be a problem. From the conversation this weekend (paraphrased) It's an introductory rating, they're not there to pull for the student or assist with stability..... Me: 'Well let's hope that they are at least "there".' To be supervised correctly the supervising instructor would have to ocassionally "audit" a coach jump, and I just don't see that happening in the field.
  18. From a conversation that we had at the DZ this weekend. Do you think that the experiance requirements for the Coach Rating are too low, and if so Why? Thanks for your opinions.
  19. There was 4 minutes between drops on each jumprun
