  1. Broke my tib/fib, my femur and broke a bunch of tendons in my ankle September of last year. I was out for 9 months before I started jumping again.
  2. I had a lot of trouble starting out too. What really helped me was to visualize the entire jump from start to finish in your mind the eintire way up. Take slow deep breaths when the door opens and you await your turn to jump.
  3. Easiest way to find out is to just go. If you survive I'd say your ok. if you die...well then you wasn't ok. But in all seriousness I'd try getting your heart rate up. If you feel fine after a good jog or something similar I'd say your fine. unless its maybe the jolt from the canopy opening that may concern you? Idk I'm no doctor.
  4. Wow, out of those 40,000 jumps I wonder how many cut aways he has had? Apologies if it answers my question in the video, youtube is blocked here at work.
  5. Good deal! Skydive Carolina is a fantastic place to jump! Hope to see you around.
  6. How would they cut the rod if its inside the bone? If the femur breaks again? You may have a bent rod in the middle of it. They would cut the rod @the break, & withdraw both ends. Then, they'd repair the bone. They may need to use a length of donor bone to do this. Barry Sheene won championships racing w/rods in his legs in the Seventies. He used to fear this, too (& he wasn't afraid of much). Orthopaedics have come a long way over the last 30yrs. If you do suffer such an injury. It can be repaired. Oh ok, some people have told me that it would have to be amputated which I kinda doubted that would be the case. I'll have to try to remember to ask my surgeon during my next appointment.

  8. I was also in a accident in September. I broke my femur, tib/fib and crushed my ankle. I have Titanium rod in my femur now and lots of hardware in and around my ankle. I haven't started jumping again but really want to get back into it this summer. TBH I am very afraid of hitting the leg again. Not sure what would happen if I broke my femur again since I got that rod in it.
  9. Congrats! Hell I was at 38 jumps before I got my A. Now im at around 90 or so but I had a pretty major injury on a landing so im out till atleast spring. :(
  10. Congrats! It took me right at a year to get my "A". But it took me a while to catch on. lol
  11. ive had 4 line twists on my last 4 jumps. I don't know why either. I had somebody watch me deploy and they said I had a stable deployment but my bag was spinning almost immediately as it came out of the container. None of the line twists was severe enough to cut away but one was close. I plan on asking my rigger this weekend before I make another jump. Maybe have him take a look at my pack job and checking the line lengths. This all started recently to. I don't have many jumps on it but the first 10 jumps I made with my own pack job opened perfect. But now all of a sudden something is a miss. I am jumping a old PD210 btw.
  12. Maybe some sort of radar to help avoid a canopy collision? Just throwing stuff out there.
  13. My parents know. Hell I even made my mom come watch me do a jump after I finished my AFF last year. I figured it would help ease her mind. I'm 29 BTW.
  14. Congrats man! I have jumped there before. Bill Scott is a great guy!
