Have you seen the fastback thing for the V4? It flaps like crazy...not like the TonySuit Fastbacks...So, depending on manufacturer there can be quite a bit of movement/vibration going on. One thing I would like to ask about is the addition of the Kinect. How are you working that into the design, or is it going to even be a thought? I think that would be one of the more immersive qualities to the simulation, otherwise if it's going to be played with a controller it will be more of an arcade game. I so hope that this will be an actual simulation with real flying technique rather than a controlstick/keyboard input.

Good concept, but throwing around balls in the air is probably not the greatest idea, unless you're the ball master...especially when tracking/wingsuiting this would be difficult if not impossible. Although the only thing I could see going on in the SWF was the first part of the scoring movieclip. None of the other buttons work (at least in FF).

Well there's your first problem...Never trust your neptune for speed. I have one jump showing I was doing 283 MPH head up and a bunch of others showing above 200 MPH on my belly. So, don't go by your alti. I highly doubt you hit 180 on your belly, no matter how fat the tandem was.

I know who you are...quit spreading slander. PLEASE. There is no reason to ruin a place for everyone when you already chose to ruin your job/life/marriage. -

See...the funny thing is, Mr. Jones, I don't really care. ;) This is quite funny to me that someone would take a post like that seriously. Actually both of these posts. I'm just using this old bitter man's tactics and ridiculous behavior as my example. I've never been more proud to jump at a DZ like ASC. Same goes for AST. I just can't believe this man's crusade to try and kill it when he's really not hurting Cary Q...he's trying to take jobs from people who work their asses off and could care less about Skyride's past, present, or future activities. That to me is stupid and soulless. Especially when 99.9% of what I've read on here (from him and a the other band of bitter men/women) has been hearsay. So, wakeup and smell the dry, sarcastic, and probably not so humorous humor. But at least that's what it was. ;) Carry on. -

It this what you mean? If it is...then he has finally proven to me how gullible and moronic the man really is....and I'm not talking about Chuck. Although Chuck is pretty much a shoe in for Southern Director....lol Please...Grow up, Billy and get away from the computer. You need a break badly. And please don't take pictures of my posts again and repost without my permission. **This is your warning, or you will be hearing from my beautiful lawyer.** -

To bad this one is full of crap. ;) I can tell by the way she writes who she is...anonymity destroyed. She's as grammatically incorrect as she is pissed about losing her job after she was doing things that really only brought shame to herself. And on that note...If you got hate in your heart...let it out. ;) -
City of Nashville vs Skyride court date set
SlipstreamBRO replied to BillyVance's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I drive farther than that every weekend to jump at Skydive Nashville and Skydive Georgia and so do alot of other people. Having multiple sites may seem like a dirty trick, but it is just good marketing in my opinion. It's like you said, 99% do the same thing. why not be a little different and see what happens. The instructors there make a nice paycheck and the fun jumpers needs are met. So, I think it's a good business besides past mistakes. Plus, the people there are quite awesome to be around. So, sorry you guys all have had bad experiences, but the whole website thing is how I found the place to begin with...Notice, I didn't find Skydive the Farm first. Whose staff and quite a few fun jumpers are amazing to be around and jump with. Their IT Department just isn't as strong. ;) -
CX150, or go all the way to CX500? Replacing a PC109
SlipstreamBRO replied to pfortier's topic in Photography and Video
Just curious....Why is the CX100 out? I know quite a few peeps who use those and they run beautifully. I have a CX110 that I can't complain about and it's quite a bit cheaper ($325 on Ebay --New In Box) than the 150 (approx $499 on Ebay NIB). -
Don't expect a return call, an answer, or anything else other than your bank account to be hit when you use their online booking. Also, don't try and call the # they list on their site, cause it's disconnected. I tried to sign up my friend for his first jump. He is in Ontario, I'm in TN. So, I used dropzone to find the best DZ around him. BIG MISTAKE. This database must not be uptodate, or their down and out and not letting anyone know. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR $$.

I know you're a D license jumper and I am only a B. But what is the purpose of a wingsuit if we are only to "fly our bodies and not suits"? That's a pretty ignorant statement. To me you are assuming that someone who wants to use these is a novice tracker...The PF pants/jacket (which I just made my first jump in yesterday) GREATLY improve the distance once can cover and also make it so that you are in the air longer without being under canopy. So, to say that you should fly your body and not a suit is pretty closedminded. Some people got into this sport to fly. So, the Suit is a natural step toward that and wingsuits. Even a person with 100 jumps can realize that.

Well, I'm on jump 100 now...Had two jumps @ the farm and 97 @ ASC. I like ASC more and the people there have not done me one bit of wrong. The people at the farm are great and all, but I like the atmosphere much better @ ASC to be honest. I'm just going to stay there. :) Thanks for the suggestion though. ;) -
Thanks for the heads up. that's what I was thinking. Chattanooga is a bit more affordable than Nash, etc....So, that may be helpful. I'm going to have to get a move on. :)

What would y'all think about putting a tunnel in either Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, or Chattanooga, TN? I am thinking the population centers (Nashville & ATL) would be the most profitable, but Chattanooga could service more of the skydiving community due to the # of DZ's within a 200 mile radius. I'm just doing some research for the moment, but this is something I am going to try and move forward on it in 2010.

No, I haven't jumped @ The Farm yet. I would like to though. Especially once I get into tracking a bit more...hehe But, my experience is that business decisions affect everyone involved (jumpers, staff, students, feelings, and even DZ's). I've talked quite a bit with different people @ ASC about the whole Skyride situation. You know I just try to stay out of that though, because for the most part that seems like a management rift/tiff. Honestly, that is a shame. I've never met the owners of ASC, but I hear that Hans is quite prevelant at the Farm. All in all, this is a great sport that has to operate like a business. In order for the people fronting the bill to allow us to jump from their landing strip, property, and use the planes they are leasing/own then I can't discount them for doing what they do. I mean honestly their marketing gimmick is what directed me straight to them. Although, their websites leave much to be desired (Unlike The Farm's site which is good even if it was made in dreamweaver). I have had zero issues with the people I am in contact with on a weekly basis. So, luckily at this point I have no idea why someone would be ashamed to say they jump there. Good people and a great sport. Can't wait to meet more of you at different DZ's though!! thanks for the warm welcome regardless of my defense of ASC. :) -

Good morning/afternoon all! I just wanted to post on here and introduce myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet some good peeps on here. I would like to start traveling to different DZ's on my vaca's, so it would be nice to make some friends beforehand. I've only made 38 jumps at this point, but I'm hoping to have 200 by the end of the yr. I've been in the sport for about 2.5 months now, so I am still incredibly new. But I feel like I've found what I've been missing. Anyways, my home DZ is the Atlanta Skydiving Center. Anyone else go there that would like to jump sometime? I'm headed down on Friday @ 1700 EDT. -
I went down for my first jump a couple of months ago with a buddy of mine. At first we felt completely out of place, but by the end of the jump we felt like it was a place we could come back to and be received warmly. So, I took my AFF course there and have continued to jump there with the people that I can now call my friends. Currently I am taking an A License progression that is being developed by the coaches/staff and it has been extremely rewarding. The coaches are patient, positive, and will work with you one on one as much as you like. There is no reason to look for another DZ to learn from if you are from TN, AL, & GA. They are a 1-stop shop that will accommodate all your needs. I look forward to becoming a better jumper with all their knowledge, expertise, and friendship.
