    Welcome to the forums! :)

Thanks! Yes, as much as I really, really LOVE jumping off of things, the mechanics behind working a canopy are brand new to me, and navigating in wind concerns me a bit when it comes to landing where I need to. For now, at least. :D

  3. I have a question that pertains to audibles, but do not see a need for another thread.

At what experience level should I get an audible?

I haven't gotten one yet because i wanted to build altitude awareness and not become dependent on an audible.

  4. isn't it illegal for skydivers to drive new cars. i thought they were required to be old and shitty.

  5. hang in there buddy. better to be on the ground you were in the air than the other way around.

i feel your pain, i sat at the dz and watched it rain all weekend:(

I really don't have door fear in the Caravan or Otter. I think it makes it easier because in those I'm going out near the end, and I've already seen at least 10 people go out ahead of me, so it's just like "ok, next." In the Cessna, it's just me (and the instructor of course).

I think the Cessna fear is just the extra work I have to do to get positioned on the strut. I just didn't feel like I climb out there; it seemed impossible. My leg also kept blowing off the step due to the prop blast.

I'm glad to hear other people have felt the same way! I know it doesn't matter even if I fell off the step, since I'm jumping anyway, but it still feels so unnatural to be standing on a step 12,000 feet above the ground and clutching a narrow metal rail in front of you! :)

after 4 more levels, you get to exit however you want. freefall is the same after the first 10 seconds on anything you jump out of.

you are planning on jumping out of the airplane. the worst that happens is you do;) all doors are the same, they lead to freefall.

for me the airplane ride is only scary until i get to 1000 ft, then it's all good. when i see the door open it is time to get excited.

    Hi

    Does your weight is 270 lb./ 122 Kg. ?

Your system = WINGS h/c & PR143 are FAA TSO'd items which have by LAW & the MFG. WEIGHT & SPEED limits based on tests & SAFETY FACTORS.

    :( If you does weight around 270 Lb. (122 Kg.) you are jumping a NO-LEGAL TSO'd H/C & RESERVE.

The MAX GROSS WEIGHT for the PR143 is 254 Lb. (115 Kg.) & SAME for your WINGS h/c

These numbers are the MAX LEGAL LIMITS of the TSO'd system.

Working twice does not mean it should be the same next time.

You are RISKING yourself big time & also risk your DZO / Rigger
for let you jump a NON-LEGAL system.

One more point for you to think about: if you have personal insurance they might NOT cover you for jumping that system.

Be SMART & STOP jumping that system.

    Cheers !!!

I know I have asked you this before, but why do you insist on referencing the FAA and American Law to people who do not live within their jurisdiction?

gravity pulls the same on you wherever you are. if it is not safe to handle that weight in america, it is not safe to handle that weight in the netherlands.

it doesn't matter if it is legal or not, it's stupid to not adhere to the manufactures recommendations.

funny, the reserve's dont go bad in switzerland after 180 days, it takes a full year to do so. same gravity!

leaving a reserve packed for a year is no big deal. but if you have to use that reserve, i would want my weight to fall in the parameters it is designed for.

if parachute b is only designed for x amount of weight, then you should not overload it especially when it is your last chance.

like i said in my earlier post, i don't care if it is legal or not and i have no idea what is legal and not.

will the overloaded reserve work... good chance
will the reserver loaded correctly work... great chance

i know which one i will take.

find a friend who has a cell that works at fitz and forward your cell to theirs. might have to give them a bottle of liquor but it could work

But there are DZ's out there you can go to with out having any USPA affiliation if you want.

it's not that big of a deal to me. my home dz is a uspa dz, and love the people there.

"you need to pick which hill you are going to die on" is one of my favorite quotes. i dont care enough about uspa one way or the other to not jump at uspa member dz's.
