  1. I know they aren't exactly in need of more credibility but I felt compelled to say how happy I've been in the 3 times I've dealt with the folks at CS! I've bought 2 different altimeters, 2 sets of gloves, my used Cypres (which I got a great price on) and some various other items and every time they had it to my door lightning fast. One time I got a shipment notice within 30 minutes of placing my order! I just got a brand new shiny Viso II and the Viso gloves and am super excited to try it out... but when I woke up this morning it was snowing It's going to be awfully hard staring at my shiny new toy all weekend and not even being able to use it! Also I love the stickers! The last time they sent me one I did a little custom rigging and put it on my helmet. I have attached a photo of my results.
  2. Why do you think so many people in this thread are telling you to not downsize? Is it because we are jealous of your ability and don't want you to get better than us? Is it because we are against having fun and you shouldn't be allowed to fly a fun canopy? Or maybe it's because you aren't special at all and everyone has known a dozen people just like you, most of whom quit skydiving when they ended up breaking or killing themselves? Nah that can't be it. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  3. UM, Please read post. No where have I said I'm an "excelent canopy pilot." All I have said is I believe I can fly my canopy at my wing loading without harming myself or others. Do your homework! You want to fly an elliptical canopy loaded at 1.5 with 150 jumps. The only way this could approach being a reasonable decision is if you are the best canopy pilot in the world with 150 jumps. How do you think you stack up? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  4. I refuse to believe a professional airline pilot could be so delusional as to believe his aircraft training makes him an expert canopy pilot with all of 15 jumps a year for a decade. But the more this guy posts the less he looks like a troll so I guess I'm wrong. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  5. The reason everyone is ganging up on you is because you are acting like an entitled child. Surely continuing to respond to every post with a clever comeback will help this image. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  6. You've made no less than 15 posts in this thread complaining about your experience and yet you refuse to talk to the instructor in person about what happened. Stop being a passive aggressive whiner and deal with your issues head on. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  7. It's always a good idea to demo a canopy before buying so try some rentals and/or demos to get a feel for the various 7 and 9 cell choices that would be appropriate like Safire2, Sabre2, Spectre, Storm, etc. I think 7 vs 9 cell canopy is mainly a personal preference and you won't know which one you like more until you try both. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  8. how much altitude do you need for that? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  9. Make 300 jumps, a few hours of tunnel time, get coach rating, stop sucking at freeflying, do more hybrids. Compete in intermediate 4way at nationals if I can get a team together. Spend a lot more money on fancy gear and electronic gadgets. Non-skydiving but aviation-related I'm also hoping to get a Glider/Sailplane license in 2011 http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  10. it's a pretty cheesy design so I can't link directly to the "Wealth" page www.isaadventureteam.com http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  11. I guess it's not obvious from that video but the founder of the ISA group has been knee-deep in various MLMs for quite a while. I'm not sure if ISA itself is a MLM (or just a vehicle to steer people towards MLM) but if you go to their website and click the "wealth" button it basically reads like a pitch for another pyramid scheme. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  12. I know some of the people involved in this. I'm not going to comment on the copyright stuff and don't want to make any judgments on "ISA Adventure Team" as a whole but I do think it's unfortunate that MLM/Pyramid scheme shit is being associated with skydiving. When skydivers/BASE jumpers use their sports as a promotional tool to fleece people of their money it hurts the image of parachuting in general. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya

  14. No, I can't say that's ever happened to me http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  15. I'd be interested in theft/loss insurance for my rig that doesn't include damage incurred while jumping. Does that type of thing exist? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  16. You're delusional. But I'm not really surprised because you would have to be a master of self-deception to get up to 420lbs. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  17. are you a sumo wrestler? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  18. Why is the Micro Raven 120 so bad? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  19. Good argument man have you considered going to 1.6 I think you're ready http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  20. Sorry if this is off topic but related to the current discussion I am 28 years old now and although I'm not "old" it's shocking to think of all the stupid things I did and judgment calls I made when I was 18-21 and thinking I was totally invincible to consequences. Reflecting on that I'm not at all surprised at the attitudes of many young jumpers because I would have been exactly the same way if I started skydiving when I was 18. I'm glad I waited until my late 20's because I would have been a terribly unsafe skydiver at that age. http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  21. Why is it so hard to consider the possibility that you are still so inexperienced that you have no idea what you're talking about http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
  22. I'm pretty sure the 200 jump BSR doesn't apply to tracking suits but should it? Should there be a minimum level of experience/jumps before using a tracking suit? Would it be stupid to try a tracking suit with
  23. Obviously skydiving is a pretty small community. I see posts all the time from people who I have jumped with or know at my home DZ. Some of the people I know on here have thousands of posts, many of them contributing to safety and training discussions. I also know of people who jump at my DZ who have posted things here that make me question if I'd be willing to jump with them because it doesn't paint a very positive picture of their approach to safety. So I'm wondering how many other posters here have their opinions of fellow jumpers influenced by what they see them post on these forums.
  24. Did this happen? http://www.mixcloud.com/prajna http://vimeo.com/avidya
