So I'm just curious what everyone thinks about the new lineup for Rhythm? Does this put them on the same level as Airspeed? World Class? IMHO it absolutely does. I'm not saying that Rob wasnt that guy but they aren't losing anything by putting Chris Farina in that IC slot. If anything they are improving because I think Chris has a little more experience and he has a faster tunnel average (as well as the world record 66 pointer with Fury). I can't wait for the 2012 Nationals to see how it shakes down between Rhythm and Airspeed. Kudos to Steve, Janette and Thiago for making such a steady progression. it is awesome to see hard work, smart training, and dedication pay off. There is no quick way to the top and it is amazing to read Rhythm's story and see their progression. I'm super bummed to see that Fury will no longer have many of the original members but maybe they are planning on adding in some new flyers. Either way they were a world class skydiving team and I was lucky to get so share a 4 way jump with all four of the original members. Like it has been said, skydiving is one of the most amazing sports because where else can an amatuer get to train with the pros! It is the equivlaent of getting to play a round of golf with Tiger Woods. Good luck to everyone in their future endeavors!

Building the next amateur champion 4-way team
dounglomchan replied to Mikhail's topic in Relative Work
Mikhail, if Andre Van Heerden is not one of those 3 individuals I want you to stop what you are doing right now and call him or shoot him a message on Facebook. He would be the perfect fit for a team like this because he meets all of the criteria that the other 3 members meet. With the exception that he's an old fucker in his 30's but is still a shit hot flyer. If he is already on the team then congratulations! You are getting an amazing Outside Center/Point Flyer! Good luck in your search buddy... Kit -
Damn I wish I could be there! Make sure to post vids/pics of the WS record!

http://www.skyleague.com/pages/news/showArticles.php?story=2067 According to this article on NSL it will be the same lineup from last year giving it one last hurrah!

I've been giving this some thought and I think that the shakeup with the Airspeed lineup this year reminds me of of the Miami Heat in the NBA. You've got a very talented athlete leaving the team that he came up with, Lebron James being Josh Hall. Then you have the player that has already won a championship with his team recruiting new members, Mark Kirkby being Dwayne Wade. Not to mention Thomas Hughes who would be Chris Bosh, player with tons of talent joining the team as well. Not sure which player Nick Hemlin would be but I think the comparison works for the most part. Bottom line is, you have this huge collection of talent on one team (Airspeed = Miami Heat) It will be interesting to see how it all melds together...

I've only put 11 wingsuit jumps in but I use a Sabre 2 170 and my openings have been fantastic.

Absolutely great performances by their team! Phenominal flying!

J-E-F-M-B. I imagine this would be lightning fast! Very little movement at all for all slots. Would love to see it in a tunnel comp!

What level and how much money are you looking to spend? You can get a lot out of jumping with Kynan to be honest with you. He is one of the load organizers out there. If you are wanting to get some world class coaching and spend some money then ask for Travis Fienhage of SoCal Converge. Again it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. I'm not a free flyer so I don't know how it translates over doing LO jumps to coach jumps for freeflying but I would imagine it would shoot your learning curve up getting a first rate coach. If you decide to go with the coach option then just ask manifest and they can give you Travis's contact info. Kit

Does anyone have any interest in putting together a pickup 4 way team for the next SoCal skydiving league? Team would compete in the AA class. We could have an informal team where we just show up that day and jump together or we could train the weekend or two weekends before to try and gain a competitive edge. I'm happy with doing either one of these plans. If these options sound like something you might be interested in please shoot me a PM or email me at dounglomchan3@yahoo.com Follow Link for more details... http://skyleague.com/pages/leagues/showLeague.php?league=15

Tim...thank you very much for the idea. I'm going to see if I can make myself something like this myself. Thank you everyone for all the responses and well wishes. I will be very careful with my shoulder and won't be doing any skydiving until I get the results of my MRI. :-(

I'm not sure if this should be posted here or in the skydiving general section of the forums but the post has to do with 4 way so I will try it here. I recently dislocated my shoulder in the wind tunnel. It has happened a few times to me now while skydiving but all the other previous times happened when I was sit-flying. I didn't think that my shoulder would dislocate while doing belly RW but unfortunately I was wrong. I want to continue with my team but I don't want to risk another dislocation in the air as opposed to the wind tunnel. I have had my shoulder mildly dislocate in free fall the past two times it has happened. Before anyone gets worried I am seeing a doctor and getting an MRI done on my shoulder in a few weeks. My MAIN question is has anybody ever used any shoulder brace such as the SAWA brace or any other kind of brace designed to keep your shoulder from sublexing or dislocating? Were you still able to compete and train in 4 way RW? Or did it affect your range of motion and movement to much? Any stories or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help.

I should be getting mine in a few weeks! Can't wait to feel the difference in having a real comp suit. Do you guys/gals feel like it makes that much of a difference?

You know what's awesome though is now you know that you will have no probems executing your emergency procedures. I don't want a cutaway to happen but it would be nice to actually know that I can do what I need to do when the time comes. So you are defintely way ahead of the power curve when it comes to EP's. I texted Alex about your video...no word back yet...
