My girlfriend is definitely a street-smart. She can survive street any day without money. Any yet, she is struggling to get good grades in school. She absolutely avoid risks at all cost and would get sick over things that you wouldn't think of. On the other hand, I am more of book-smart and adventurous person. I have a masters' degree. I am a recreational pilot; ride motorcycle; and plan to take up skydiving (currently saving up money for full training plus extra in case I fail at some levels). That's a general view of us, but you can see that we are completely opposite of each other. To answer your questions, we both acknowledge the differences in term of "smarts" and we accept each other for who we are. We get benefits from each other. I helped her with school sometime ( Don't tell me how I do that, but I do get a very nice reward afterward ) She helped me with her street skills (Don't tell me how, but I could talk my way out for things without paying these ridiculous fees.) I won't lie to you about this. We do fight sometimes over stupid or tiny things. But, at the end of the day, we just can't get rid of each other. We have a very strong moral ground and we trust each other without a question. She is my best friend and I am her best friend as well.

Allright, I will wait until next season.. I have to try and stay sane. I have been itching to jump again after my first tandem jump. I think I have a rash right now.
-
I saved enough for 4 jumps.
-
Up to this point, I was able to save enough money to do about 4 jumps. I doubt that I will be able to earn my A license before the season ends. Should I proceed to jump few times before the season ends or slap myself and tell myself to hang in there until next season (which I will have full funding to earn A)?

Good morning, everyone

I agree with you at this point, but like you said, "Point of view is subject to change at anytime." I just had a cutaway yesterday. I sure hope that it was a smart decision because I'm blinded by love.

Just be yourself and let the nature run its course. -
Just thinking out of the box......since we have technology, why not creating a large pit, full of some special foam that can arrest fall and save a life? It can be used as last resort. Did anyone ever think that? Police/Fire department have large airbags for suicide jumper. What wrong with applying same concept for life-saving purpose?

My company cover the cost of CPR training every year. how can I look away if it would cost me 300 dollars out of pocket if I chose other methods?

I could preach that in, day in and day out, and I will never get through their head.

I rode my motorcycle to work for the first time today. When people came to my cubical, the first question they asked me, "Do you ride motorcycle?" (after seeing my helmet on my desk) I said, "Yes." They look at me like I am crazy. Few months ago, I told my co workers that I am planning to enter skydiving sport. Same Result: looking at me like I am from outer space. Where do I fit in?

What is the best material to read beside the USPA's handbook? Something that fit into this catagory, "Everything you need to know about skydiving."
