Part of my job is making sure the present conditions are safe for the jump. The free fall is only part of it. I can imagine how hard is to hook up two students at the same time, after an engine out at low altitude with the cockpit already in fire. Or after a catastrophic airframe failure, have to decide which one (or both) I'm leaving behind to die in the airplane. Or cutaway with six loose legs to catch on the reserve bridle or lines. As a pilot, I also can imagine the consequences of having an engine out and three people standing at the door trying to bail out... As a rigger, I wonder how the asymmetric opening forces will affect the MLW and main risers over the time, since the load is not the same on each side. Also, if having a heavy person hanging out in one side would increase the pull force required to cut away with hi G forces. As a DZO, I can imagine 6 broken femurs, one instructor down and two lawsuits at once. And the list of things I can imagine goes on and on... After 26 years in sport, I've come to understand my limits and accept the fact that they are mine, not someone else. I agree with you on assisted drogue deployment. A side spin rotates fast enough with four legs. I can't imagine with six. A Skyhook equipped rig is also a good idea. It may be hard to scissor all four students legs and arch before cutting away. Since when busting clouds happens only in Eastern Europe or third world countries? He didn't throw the drogue any faster than many TIs around. His feet was not at the door, he was stable and the acft tail was clear. fast or not, it was a clear drogue throw. I've seen worst from TIs jumping with a single pax... Three people in a tandem, strapped one in front of another has been done in Florida, by the same parachute manufactorer we both are rated. Are they dick-heads too? No Drogue, no JUMP!!

No, you are paying a fair price. Specially if your DZ keeps aircraft maintenance up to date. I wouldn't sell a slot to 12k for less them $30, given the actual fuel and maintenance prices in US. Here is a break down of your jump ticket based on a small DZ, flying a C-182 with Continental O-470 series, 300 hours/year (2400 heads/year, 8 heads/hour or 4 heads/load) and going to 10K MSL. ->Firewall forward OH reserve ( engine, prop, mags, carb, gov, engine mount, start, gen/alt, exaust, bafflings and etc): $25000 / 1500 hours / 8 = $0.26; ->Typical annual costs: $2500 / 2400 = $1.04; ->Aircraft Insurance and liability: $5500 / 2400 = $2.08; ->Fuel per load (avg) 7gl x $5.50 / 4 = $9.62; ->Pilot: $10 / 4 = $2.5; ->Extras parts, oil changes, unscheduled maintenance and top OH: $15 p/h / 8 = $1.8; ->100 hours inspection: 12 hours x $65 x 3 / 2400 = $0.97; ->C-182 airframe depreciation: $5 / 8 = $0.62 Direct total cost (not including office expences, ground crew, rent, facilities, utilities, taxes, free beer and etc...) : $19.00 Each DZ is different. Good think is he allows you or your pilot/mechanic to help in the process and I believe he has some kind of bunker house or place in his hangar if you want stay until the job is done. Beautiful. Going to 450 HP will allow it to keep wing extensions or it will be too much of stress for the airframe? i'm asking because a friend of mine put a Garret on a C-195 and he had to cut a foot or so off the wing tip on each side .
