  1. Mate, Just remember theres no rush at all....CRW will always be there, dont go and die because you f*ck up on the basics. Not good for you and not good for CRW in general. CRW can be safe and fun but can also go seriously wrong and just because you have or havent been in a wrap doesnt make you a better/worse jumper you gain knowledge from every jump. you should def go and use the right equipment and im sure all CRW dawgs on here will say the same also get some decent coaching. but by the sounds of the post you are going to jump anyway fair one its your shout....plus i would be a hypocrite if i wrote an essay on why you shouldnt do it. Im sure you are going to attempt CRW without the right canopies anyway if you do, try and get the risk down slightly use the same canopies, same wingloadings and be careful! (this i know isnt the right answer i should be giving however like i said before they seem like they are going to jump anyway so this might help them out) Dont Die! 2. If this was your first CRW jump maybe you should stop and find someone who knows what there doing as you and your friends obviously dont..... -never spiral -sashay with toggles is easier and works better -your never front riser it all the way unless you Hercules or me ;-) haha Get the right equipment funny enough its designed to save lives, all canopies fly different....also get coaching off someone who actually knows what knows what there doing. Its irrelevant if the wing loading at this stage of the game, if it is the same or not your all flying different canopies.....different trim, characteristics etc..... Im all up for doing dangerous stuff, i love pushing things to the edge but these things have been done before and have gone really bad learn from other peoples mistakes. people have died doing crazy shit. if you want some sound advice where to get proper kit, coaching etc.... contact me on facebook search for PH36 canopy formation team and we can have a chat and we can point you in the right direction, if i dont know the answer i sure know someone that does. more jumps will help your right but on the right kit! 3. Hey All, We all understand theres not many CRW jumpers in the UK and we want to change this and get the skies of the UK full of Canopies smashing into each other! Netheravon: "The DZ will sadly be closed from 5th to 23rd July, due to a large military exercise taking place on the airfield. That includes both weekends and week days. We will however be open on the surrounding weekends." So ive came up with an idea of a CRW weekend at Langer (still to be confirmed) as it is central and easiest place for everyone to get too. Any other ideas let me know. just seeing who would be interested? Ive missed a load of people out that are not on facebook, UKS or DZ.com so if you guys could forward it to others that have CF1 or have done quite a bit of CRW would be appreciated. and see what sort of reply we get, i know some of you have a massive list of CRW dawgs in the UK or abroad that might be interested so ask about, lets get some CRW done this summer! All levels welcome just for fun! theres 10 people confirmed already come on people! If you have facebook find our team there and get yourself on the list for this Weekend of 9th - 11th July 2010. Kit will be available if needed contact us for more details Jamie PH36 Canopy Formation Team Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated
  4. Yea mine tangles up to, it has never caused me any dramas, its caused by the pilot chute being inflated on top and bouncing around on top of the canopy. a kill cone is prob the best idea but if your like me and never get around to getting one made you will become a Jedi at untangling the bridle Have fun be safe and Dont DIE! 7. Hi, ive been asked to put a link up of our team video of this year. Its a bit of a tribute to Pat Hammond. The 2 way sequential team consisting of myself Jamie Flynn and my team mate Jason Pocock. We started together just before Pat passed away, we trained together at netheravon with alot of support. In July Mark Skarratts joined as our cameraman and has done really well so thanks Mark. None of us had really done much CRW before, Pokie had 80 CRW jumps and i had just got my CF1 at christmas so just had around 20 CRW jumps. Thanks to everyone who helped us that wasn't mentioned on the video, Looking forward to see what next year brings. http://www.facebook.com/pages/PH36-Canopy-Formation-Team/138008955336 Thanks again Jamie Flynn Jason Pocock Mark Skarratts Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated

  9. my mates in the red devils and some people from my DZ jump their ZP canopies with normal sliders into a bag they roll the nose and do everything to slow the openings down, but im just curious if anyone has just given it ago....i dont know for a laugh or to see if they become infertile, cheap contraception eh? haha Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated
  10. like i said, ive jumped lightnings before at terminal and ive even jumped my tail pocket just at the verge of terminal 9-10secs but am just curious if anyone has or does jump at terminal using a d bag and with a mesh slider. yes there is a difference between using a normal slider and a mesh slider, as a mesh sliders speeds up openings at sub terminal Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated
  11. The advice on the label is dont take lightnings to terminal, there are quite alot of people that jump them at terminal, my question is has anyone jumped a lightning at terminal with a d bag (which i have done myself and know alot of people that do, but with a normal slider) but with a mesh slider? Thanks Jamie Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated

  13. Steve and ian have all those rigs yes and it would cost alot to swap them to storms but i think the main reason is lightnings are the canopy used around the world for CRW, its a canopy that has proved itself time and time again, yes its a different skill set but why would you try and fix something that isnt broken? Im sure people will buy storms but primarilay for CRW? maybe not. Its like a triathlon hybrid yea its a good canopy and when you fancy doing CRW you can but no good for serious CRW if everyone is using ligtnings. I think the best advice would be listen to steve and Ian they have been doing it for years, theyve seen people doing CRW on Furys, triathlons, lightnings, spectre, velocity ect.... they have seen and know how different canopies react with one another and thier advice is prob the best advice your going to get rather than asking people on a forum that you dont know. me personally would go with what they have advised you. ok dont buy a brand new lightning 176 but look about there is a dutch guy that puts people in touch with sellers or buyers of lightnings, but there are alot of 176's out there, if you think a 176 is hard to get hold of try a 143 nightmare! haha. i did a 5 stack the other week with 2 lightnings and 3 triathlons when we were altogether the formation oscelation was hidious mix and match canopies isnt a good idea, that means you would have to meet people who have a storm CRW ready, which ive only seen one on a military demo team.. 14. Ive spoke to a few people in the UK and thier pretty sure that the swap wont be in the near future, ive never jumped a storm but what ive been told from people who do is that "it is an all round canopy, and has good nice openings and flares well ect...., however it doesnt specialise in one disepline " . Lightnings are designed just for CRW so why not buy new? majority of people doing CRW do it on lightnings or triathlons in the uk, and i cant see people in this economical climate reaching into their pockets and forking out for a storm when they have a perfectly good lightning. i looked at this when i was buying a CRW canopy and this was the advice i got. if my advice is poor why not ring steve saunders or ian marshall im sure they will push you in the right direction.
