should i worry about getting my A license
f1racer696 replied to f1racer696's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thanks for all your feedback. i have only jumped with an instructor once since completing my aff. and do mostly 2 ways and a few 3 ways. as a few of you have said i have kind of been using my proficiency card as a checklist, and have pretty much completed most of it. i did my hop n pop last week so im not sure why i havnt started filling it out. haha. but im not sure what not having my A license has to do with my gear. i have my own gear and everything. so all i need is the darn license. haha i know a few people around my DZ who didnt get their license untill a couple hundred jumps. and i have heard people call them "another product of Lodi." ill try not to be in that category for too long. lol oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... should i worry about getting my A license
f1racer696 replied to f1racer696's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
so i have noticed a lot of students all getting their A licenses right at their 25th jump. yet i am almost at 50 jumps and havnt even started filling out my proficiency card. i have just been having a blast and learning as much as i can. do i need to worry about getting my A as soon as i can? or should i not worry about it too much oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Why are rigs so damn expensive?
f1racer696 replied to Tomcat933's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i totally agree with squirrelgirl. if you had a choice between a fishing boat and a rig would you really get a boat? come on now, there is a reason you got into skydiving. obviously you have already put some money into the sport so why stop now? i am also a college student and i just bought my first rig for $3200 and couldnt be happier with it. just keep your eyes pealed and check the classified section frequently. but you dont need to be in any rush to buy a rig, obviously cause you dont have the money. but it just depends on how much you want it. hey you could always get a loan, get the rig and build credit at the same time! thats what my friend did. oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Um, both Wendy and I confirmed that he's not a douche. sorry that wasnt really meant for you two. mostly just the person who said he was a douche (or heard he was). and i guess using "you guys" wasnt right either since it was only one person haha. my bad. oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Cheapest (but safe) DZ To Rack Up Jumps?
f1racer696 replied to BlueAngel's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
1. I heard on hop-n-pops they don't cutback on jump run, and there was actually an incident where a jumper hit the stabilizer. 2. It's not a USPA Dropzone. Whether it be urban legend or not, there seems to be a consensus that because it is not governed by USPA, people don't follow the same rules. what do you mean they dont cutback on jump run? oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Cheapest (but safe) DZ To Rack Up Jumps?
f1racer696 replied to BlueAngel's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My god, man. Everyone seemed to miss what the OP was ASKING. What is this? An intervention? Just answer the fucking question! Lol. Lodi comes to my mind. Some people say it's not the safest DZ, but that's just hear-say; I have never jumped there. Crank those jumps out man. Have fun! Lodi is my home DZ. idk what isnt safe about it. its a great place. $5 hop and pops and $15 jump tickets. tons of wingsuiters out there as well as RW and freeflyers. everyone out there is awsome and totally willing to help. there is TONS of traffic through that place as well as some pretty sick planes. its a great place to go. if you end up going to Lodi hit me up and ill meet ya out there. oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... awsome thanks for the feedback, i dont think ill be able to make it out to dallas on my way to montreal, its kind of out of the way a little bit, but ill definatley look into other places and see what goin on. oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Dudeist Skydiver #61

hey guys, so my friend and i are planning on driving from california to montreal canada to visit some family and we wanted to stop at a couple DZ's along the way. i have heard a lot of DZ's have like showers and stuff and many times people just crash in one of the hangers for a night. what do you guys think? would this be something worth doing to keep down on hotel costs if we are gonna be jumping and stuff? and is it pretty common to stay at a drop zone for a night? or do people not really like it? any feedback would be awsome. Thanks oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Dudeist Skydiver #61

ya, ill definatley hold off. its pretty damn tempting to try it out. but i cant deny the fact that ALL of you have more experience than me. so thanks for the advice and ill put it all on hold and just have fun! haha oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Dudeist Skydiver #61

ive had it for a little while and i think its pretty easy to use. if i connect it to the chest strap made for it i could jump with it on and not worry about it. its also pretty easy to program which setting you want it on when you turn it on. like video, pictures, and stuff. i know the pictures quality isnt the best, but i still just wanted to give it a try. i was just wondering if some of the experienced jumpers out there still think it would be a bad idea to jump with even if im not shooting video thanks though. So i totally understand the whole thing with jumping with a camera and it distracting you and stuff. so im gonna stay away from that for a while. the GoPro takes stills and i have a chest mount and stuff so i mostly just wanted some cool shots of me under canopy to put on facebook or something...cause im a teenager and thats what i do... haha. so if i did like a solo and then just got a few stills under canopy would that still be bad? Thanks for the input oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Dudeist Skydiver #61

f1racer696 replied to f1racer696's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thanks thats a lot of help. our agreement was that if i get the rig and it doesnt fit right or something then i can send it back and he will refund me. now about sending it to a rigger. should i have him bring it to his local DZ to have it inspected and shipped? or should i have him send it to my local DZ and do it that way? and yes i was planning on having it inspected for sure. oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... buying a rig from the Classifieds
f1racer696 replied to f1racer696's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
so i am in the process of buying my first rig from the classifieds on this sight and i just have a few concerns. so the plan was that i was gonna send him a money order for the full amount and then he was gonna send me the rig once he received that. but i dont wanna get scammed on that much money which you can never tell about... what can i do, or what is the usual process of buying a used rig. do i ask them to send me the rig first? or send them half the money, then the other half once i receive it? or what? oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot....
