  1. Because of a bigger burble and, depending on your flight style, a slightly lower total airspeed. Many people do use 36, there isn't that much of a difference. I would not feel comfortable with 32, though. bsbd! Yuri.
  2. Yo! In my experience, BASE WS openings are better than terminal non-WS ones. This is quite different from skydiving environment, where WS openings are a bit worse than non-WS. Vents make no difference. I use 38" PC and a standard BASE bridle. Pulling in full flight works very well. Be sure to stay stable, any asymmetry can convert your forward speed into line twists. bsbd! Yuri.
  3. Just spoke to Max (the jumper). There is a video, and it's better than pictures Some day it'll make it's way online bsbd! Yuri.

    KL stories?

Yo ! Could anybody please report all the carnage? I understand it's been quite entertaining so far? bsbd! Yuri.
  5. Yo! Allright, all DVDs from the last week orders show as delivered. Please let me know if you didn't receive yours! bsbd! Yuri.
  6. I was stupid enough to buy a ticket on Hotwire, and it routed me via London I guess the rig goes checked... Hey, do they allow silicone tits? You could easily blow 747 with a set of those bsbd! Yuri.
  7. Yo ! Is there any chance to carry a BASE rig on flying via London? I understand they eased up a bit, but new rules are still tight bsbd! Yuri.
  8. Technically, there is always some difference... now, how big is it? I feel there is a small difference, but it is very hard to quantify. My rough ballpark impression of the difference between Skyflyer 1 (that was slower to start flying) and Classic was about 1 second. I used Classic on really gnarly exits back in those days
  9. http://community.livejournal.com/urban_decay/1798833.html bsbd! Yuri.
  10. You obviously know nothing about how many bomber pilots have been shot down and become POWs over the years. Oh dear, so you failed your reading classes as well... what part of "defenseless enemy" and "safe distance" did you miss? We were using Afganistan as an example. Same doesn't apply to WW1 or WW2. Pilots in those wars were "Heroes". bsbd! Yuri.
  11. Dude... if you do "A", you are "H". If you do "B", you are "C". If you do neither A nor B, you are neither "Hero" nor "Coward". Not blowing yourself up is necessary, but not sufficient to be "Coward". Bombing defenseless enemy form a safe distance is both necessary and sufficient to be "Coward". This applies to B-52 pilots and does not apply to chopper pilots. bsbd! Yuri.
  12. Did you miss "safe distance" and"defenceless targets" parts? Neither applies to chopper pilots. Remember, we are discussing word definitions here, not "which side the subject is on" You failed your logic class. This merely means i am not a hero bsbd! Yuri.
  13. Yo! Will be in CH for 2..3 weeks in September, looking mostly at non-Valley wingsuit projects. Please PM if you want to play. bsbd! Yuri.
  14. Really? Please explain. Killing defenseless people from a safe stand-off distance is cowardly. This is opposite of heroic, i.e. sacrificing your own life by flying a plane into the enemy. bsbd! Yuri.
  15. "Cowardice" = "Wisdom" and "Efficiency" in this context. Just like Western pilots tend to cowardly bomb terrorists while remaining outside of terrorist's air defences range. Some say it's only common sense bsbd! Yuri.
  16. And IDF was involved in kidnappings of Palestinians, therefore IDF members will be the targets of arrest You really amuse me bsbd! Yuri.
  17. Replaced with a better version, to be exact I personally like and use the original Vertigo WLO version (snap risers), they release the lines instantly. I use masking tape sometimes, but don't stress over it. Most of the time i do not use any extra type of control. bsbd! Yuri.
  18. No matter what you think about the morals, justifications or the target, the act itself remains heroic - by the very definition of the word. Cowardly is launching rockets or bombs from a safe distance. Some examples of heroic: U.S. soldiers on the ground in Afganistan. 9/11 pilots. Some examples of cowardly: U.S. pilots in Afganistan Hesbollah rocket launcher operators bsbd! Yuri.
  19. Use WLO/line release toggles! Apex makes great ones. Not having them is as barbaric as not using line mod slider-down. Masking tape works great and doesn't seem to affect the lines at all. I do not see any reason to replace the tape with a tailgate for slider-up jumps. bsbd! Yuri.
  20. If this is true, it will be the first case of a base jumper asking to close a legal object for other jumpers. Plenty of love to follow... bsbd! Yuri.
  21. Here you go: http://night139.livejournal.com/
  22. Yo ! The first batch went out on Friday, if you ordered by Fri afternoon it's in the mail. Everything i got over the weekend (and today) is shipping tomorrow
  23. Yo ! Totally forgot about the trailer... it's now on the web page
  24. No, they didn't fail. They succeeded! Actual killings are not the goal, they are simply the means to achieve the goal. The goals are to cause a major disruption and to induce fear. Both have been achived. Funny enough, this benefits both the terrorists and the current governments of UK and US. bsbd! Yuri.
  25. Yo ! Looking for Brad Wambach, who used to skydive in VA/DC/MD area some years back. It's a long shot, but if you could pass my contact info or PM me i'd really appreciate it! bsbd! Yuri.
