  1. I`ll rephrase it - i push down with my knees and dearch at hips. It would be better to dearch while keeping straight legs but its physically impossible to hold that position. Hense knees bend a bit as a trade-off. Straight legs causing slight arch seem to cause unacceptable vertical speeds. Many would disagree here, every body is different
  2. It takes quite a few flights to dial it in
  3. Chuck, after opening 3 new walls with V2 over the weekend i very strongly suggest you reconsider. It took about 30 flights to dial it in, but now V2 flies like absolutely nothing else in the sky. I am much happier on this trip than i was with the same suit in the same mountains a month ago This does include the best vertical range out there. The only way i can possibly see you wishing for more is if you want to fly slow in both horizontal and vertical dimentions - but then you just need a large surface area, a big tarp you could schlare bsbd! Yuri.
  4. That doesn't make sense at all, actually Coming from somebody who was initially disappointed with V1, and recently with V2: they both take time to learn to fly well. Just when you feel you dialed in the sweet spot, the next suit comes in and it sucks! Perfomance drops for a while, and just as i wanted to throw away V1 and keep my S3 proto, i wanted to sell V2 and keep flying V1. The trick is to keep flying the new suit! It will outperform the old one eventually As you mention the vertical range, i was mad about getting 45mph averages in V2 a month ago. The flights in Europe last couple of weeks were so-so but showed hope. This Sat and Sun i got a few flights with Neptune averages of 35..38 (shooting for best glide). This is already slightly better then V1. Off to Europe on Wed, that's where the suit belongs bsbd! Yuri. P.S. A floaty suit would feel better in a flock anyway, compared to a better-gliding and faster suit. Flocking and perfomance flying have different goals, it's only natural. P.P.S. I hate flocking!
  5. No, screw you! I have it all figured out: when i go there ain't gonna be a funeral nor a grave, so both you and Tom are so fucked bsbd! Yuri.
  6. Have a look at the photo here and learn the history behind it (you can find a good bit of it digging around old threads in this forum. That'll start you on the way to understanding some of the relationship between BASE jumpers and death. For in-depth study have a look at this picture. Here we cross dead people out. The goal is to be the last one left. bsbd! Yuri.
  7. Watch back-to-back Robi's footage, then "Dreams.." and finally "Children Of The Rock". You will definitely reconsider If you do not, take bowling bsbd! Yuri.
  8. 1800m vertical, 3.0km horizontal 1700m vertical, 3.0km horizontal bsbd! Yuri.

    Europe WS

Say it isn't so. You're missing the big party the next weekend? Quite the contrary! I'm attending at least one, possibly two It sucks, but a harsh reality is - there are more big walls than there are days in a year. What's even worse: harder one tries to do them all, more new ones open up bsbd! Yuri.

  12. The wingsuit exit on Jungfrau is now named "Peter Schäffler". bsbd! Yuri.
  13. Got a few new walls in V2, then ended up jumping in the Valley (peer pressure). Took Prodigy up twice today for my birthday in between drinking shots, pure easy fun
  14. He refers to an intercorse with one's mother. bsbd! Yuri.
  15. Now, that guy may fit SBCmac's definition. A very, very poor flight for that particular site. bsbd! Yuri.
  16. Flames aside: pulling in full flight in BASE environment saves lives! This would be a fatality without forward speed. bsbd! Yuri.

  20. Yo! I am tired of collecting local SIM cards and wanted to buy a single worldwide number (like http://www.cellularabroad.com/) before the next trip. Does anybody here use such a service? I am curious how well it works at the main jumping destinations in Europe, especially what coverage it gets in the mountains. If you don't know what i'm talking about, it's a SIM card that roams cheaply and usually has free incoming calls in most civilized countries bsbd! Yuri.
  21. A bunch of new professional pix just got posted here: http://xomato.livejournal.com/ bsbd! Yuri.
  22. US involvement in Middle East doesn't go back much further than 50 years, and entire US history is a bit shorter that thousands of years US has managed to screw up its image rather quickly, on historical scale. bsbd! Yuri.
  23. Vents are irrelevant on WS jumps, or slider-up jumps in general. If you plan on using the same canopy slider-down, get vents. If this is a slider-up only canopy, go without vents. Given the same slider, vented canopies may open a bit harder. Quite naturally, this is fixed by changing a slider. I am amazed how many people complain about this part instead of switching to small mesh or sail slider or something in between bsbd! Yuri.
  24. I would never combine multi and WS. It offers absolutely no benefit on WS jumps, and adds an extra chance of entanglement. bsbd! Yuri.
