  1. yup. I've had the opportunity to meet, jump, and be coached by Nik. He's a local to Perris and Elsinore. I'm hitting the tunnel tomorrow guys! "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. Yea, the video was just of a fun jump with a buddy. I've been meaning to get back to the tunnel. I mostly do RW stuff and never more than 3-way freefly. I appreciate the tips and I'll keep updatng my progression as it comes. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  3. Any tips? On other jumps, I've tried sticking my lower legs out in front more as well as leaning back a little bit but find myself on my back (feels like I lean too far). Any other tips experienced FFs can point out? Video for reference (red/yellow rig): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBmeSzcX5j4 "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  4. The look on his face is priceless. On the bright side, he didn't pull the other handle at least. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  5. Elsinore has planes flying all week. Great vibe and people. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  6. What do I know... On tracking dives, I have always exited the plane in a track, regardless if I'm tail, float, etc. You should be correcting your track right out the door to keep with the group. My thoughts are maybe you corrected your body positioning too late (thus sinking low)? To slow down, just think "I need to get bigger" and vice versa. I'll be there this weekend Emily! But may only do a jump or two... hop n pops... I want to score the deal on the block jump discount... "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  7. Yeah, that's why I asked--as far as I know there isn't a signal I've learned that means cutaway :) I thought that was what two middle fingers meant... Oh, that means something else. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  8. Emily is awesome in sky! She's going to be a great jumper! I'm glad to be with you on two of your firsts! It was an awesome Thursday! "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  9. Short update. Looks like they found it!
  10. Yup, in the process of contacting them. So far, it looks like it was insured. Whew! "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  11. I seriously doubt it since the address it was delivered to is far, far away. And when I talked to the receiving department of the business, they said no one is familiar with the name WHO signed for the package (they don't work there). I know. But no choice since this was sent from a sender's UPS account. UPS is hanging me out to dry, they said they can't do anything unless someone calls them and states that they delivered to the wrong address. What kind of bullshit is that? My only hope is that it was insured for the full amount. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  12. Fucking losers lose my canopy by delivering to the wrong address that is not even remotely similar to my home. I call them and now they can't locate it... I call the business that it was delivered to, no one can claim it was delivered. UPS driver let someone fucking sign for it without checking WHO was signing it, let alone, verifying the delivery address (again, not even close to my address). I'm all kinds of pissed off right now, unfuckingbelievable. I don't even know if it was insured... The package originated from Skydive Spaceland. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  13. Move to Southern California Elsinore and Perris run all the time. Minus our retarded laws and traffic, it ain't so bad! "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  14. Hell yea! I'm glad to see you yesterday with a huge smile on your face! I'll see you at the DZ. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  15. Well, if this country stops leading the world in diabetes (a huge killer in the U.S.), improved education on prenatal care, and the unhealthy eating habits that lead to LGA (large for gestational age) babies that lead to failure to descend (failure for the fetus to reach 0 or less station at the pubis symphasis), maybe we can reduce that portion of maternal deaths that are caused from FAT babies.
  16. Would that make you a human kite? "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  17. I'm in the November issue. High-exposure picture /w Weeman on the page that honors the military... "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  18. Thanks, glad I could be inspiring. :) ZigZag: RW seems to be the typical path for those of us just off student status and with the license, which is what I'll start with to get good on belly. But I'm actually more interested in freefly :) Best part about Elsinore is you can do both with the crowd there! I usually do RW Saturdays & FF on Thursday & Sundays. See you there! 19. http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/881426-i-didnt-pull-trigger/? 1st mistake: "Showing off" your gun to a bunch of thugs (brandishing) 2nd mistake: Failing to use your gun as you get your ass kicked by several guys who can easily kill you with a kick to the head 3rd (or is 1st?) mistake: Not paying attention in your CHL/CCW class Geesus, carrying a gun is a mindset... if one is unwilling to use it to protect yourself, don't carry it. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  20. FWIW, the good guys were police officers on duty, not civilians with CCWs. It matters not. We can't afford to put armed police officers at the entrance to every building. So it's a good idea to have armed good guys deployed randomly everywhere to give the nutters second thoughts about starting an attack, or to give innocent citizens a chance of survival. Like this case:Man with knife at Family Dollar store shot dead by customer http://www.wreg.com/news/wreg-man-with-knife-shot-dead,0,2103052.storyHow many people might have been stabbed, if the attacker hadn't run up against a random armed citizen to stop him in his tracks? A good ending to a "nutter with a knife." "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  21. Check out my post a few threads down: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3798472;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread My Lotus 170 is about 5-10% larger than a Sabre 2 of the similar size and it fits perfect. A Sabre 2 may be a little soft. You can always have your rigger fill out your dbag if it's too soft. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  22. Thanks to Brian, Serg, likestojump, and folks at Elsinore for all the help. I hope this post helps someone else in the same situation. The Lotus 170 fits perfectly and actually looks better than I thought. Now only if Southern California can get rid of this damn rainy weather... http://www.sk8ng.com/dusty/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Rig.jpg "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  23. I know... I'll be there anyway in the morning. Looks like the seminars don't start until 10. "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
  24. Looks like it's going to rain. Anyone want to help me hook up a new main to old risers? Of course, your assistance would be rewarded. I need help rearranging the lines and doing a continuity check (not enough room to hang my canopy at home). Thanks! "Fail, fail again. Fail better." -Samuel Beckett
