Same here. I've had my Submariner for about 17 years and still love putting it on every day. Before that I had a Seiko Dive watch with the big rubber strap. Also a great watch but hasn't been worn in 17 years. Just can't seem to part with it. Andy I'll believe it when I see it on YouTube!

My bad. I just opened the pdf link in the thread opener and saw the letter. I haven't looked at the letter in a long time and didn't realize it's the same as what's on the website. My son is in the same boat- stays out of trouble and does well in school. He's 11 and has a droid phone. With all the sports, school activities and playing outside, it's nice to have a way to get a hold of him even if it's just to text him and tell him I'm on my way to pick him up. His brother is usually with him so I can get to both of them at the same time. I've found that he's more responsible with his phone than just about anything else he has so it's working out for him. The droid is a hand me down from my wife but as soon as contract will allow me to, I'll probably bump him up to an iPhone 4. As far as smart phones go, $100 isn't too bad for an iPhone 4. I imagine that if the rumors are true and the 5 comes out this fall, prices on the 4s will be pretty good. I wouldn't waste the money on a 3. Can you even get one anymore? I guess it depends on what your carrier has too. Right now, my son has a simple clamshell case for his droid and it's holding up well. The Otterbox cases are nice but way too bulky for a kid's pocket. I have a zero chroma for my iPhone with a rotating kickstand that works great. It took a dive onto the street one day when I was running and the phone turned out just fine. Andy I'll believe it when I see it on YouTube!

I taught my 5-year old the Loop, swoop and pull method a couple of months ago. A little practice one morning and the next morning when we started to practice again he nailed it first time. Small caps usually do well when the market is on rough turf like it is now. It's good to have some small cap in a portfolio to balance out some large cap funds too. Incidentally, now is probably a good time to get into some large cap funds. Vanguard has always had low management fees which is something few fund companies have been able to figure out. On top of that, from what I've researched in the past, Vanguard has always had solid performance. Gold... a good time would have been 10 years ago when it was dirt cheap. Ever hear the expression "buy low, sell high." Sad that most people chase performance and they end up buying high and selling low when their funds start to tank. Those who are buying gold now are chasing performance. My father in law is doing this. 10 years ago when gold was $400 an ounce, he'd have never considered it. Go find a planner to help you pull it all together. There are too many options available and if you don't have a plan, you're feeling around in the dark. I don't think it's different than what they post on their website. 6-8 weeks as of Jan 21, 2011. I don't think it has changed because it was 6-8 weeks when I got my G4 a couple of years ago. Edited to add, they have stock rigs listed on their site too. Might be worth checking out. Andy I'll believe it when I see it on YouTube!

Just gave up my Evo to my son in exchange for a iPhone 4s. I love it and won't look back at the Evo. Siri is pretty cool- everyone needs a bitch. Even my kids can use it to text. WiFi sync with iTunes is convenient since you can sync from anywhere in the house if iTunes is open on your computer. It's smaller and lighter than an Evo and despite having a dual core processor, the battery life is phenomenal. We have an ipod touch 3g in the house which is getting an IOS 5 overhaul too. We've done it before also through the airlines. Just ship the pet as air cargo. Check before you drop off to make sure your carrier is the correct size. It's not cheap (for a cat). Also, you'll need a vet certificate of health stating he'll survive the flight. The vet will know what you need when you (or current owner) schedule the appointment I'd prefer to just put 'em down before each move and buy new ones when we get to where we're going but my wife insists they are part of the family. Last move, we only had one cat and it was about $150 to fly him Delta Air Cargo. 4 months after we got here, he ran away and we haven't seen him since Halloween.
