Met my wife at her job while doing my job. She is a bench jeweler and I was an electrician. The sales associates were all giggling and whispering. I knew I was in trouble. We both were in our mid to late 30's. 1 week after meeting we went on our first date. 8 weeks after that we got married. 15 years later we are still married and still act like we are playmates. She has been my best friend and a great wife. -
I don't have any personal experience. But with that said,a friend of mine Mike Sisemore shot many videos. If any of you older jumpers can attest, he shot some excellent early movies of skydiving, CRW and base. -

Wendy, you nailed it. And by the way the only round I ever stood up was a jumbo PC. -
I spoke to Philip (Pooch) Crittenden today, he attended the ceremony. He was on the ground when the ashes were released. He told me it was just perfect the way the ashes streamed out and settled over the airport. Rest in Peace my brother. -
I thought it was Keith Eisenburg, maybe wrong. Met him at Nationals in Muskogee back in the 80's. -
I like the foam strapped to his butt to keep his spine from going through his skull. -
To be blunt, the door sucks and there is plenty obstacles to trip over on you way to the door. It is more difficult to spot unless you are letting the pilot spot for you. It is hard to launch anything out of as well as a poor idea to try. They are just a poor idea, you are better of with a 182, of course that is JMO. -
I stopped jumping 15 years ago with @ 2500 jumps. I will never have that many posts. I'll work on it though, I mean you have to have goals. -
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. -
Found this June 2014 when wife was job hunting.https://www.google.com/maps/@39.887305,-105.06946,3a,75y,155.99h,69.03t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1s93B4T7O00yEAAAQJOEUIow!2e0!3e2!6m1!1e1 -
Don't up size because you think it will cool better. It will short cycle and not dehumidify very well. It needs to be properly sized using a manual J chart. It takes into consideration heat load by using Sq. feet, insulation, size of windows and other variables. Depending on where you live a dual fuel system may be a good idea. It has a heat pump with a gas furnace instead of an electric air handler. JMO don't rush do some research. -
This is a photo Of Mike Palmer (Slugo) and Bob Langston (Mr Bill) taken by Mike Sisemore back in the early 80's. Forgot to mention it was in Tahlequah Oklahoma. -
Not without criticism.degeneration***Maybe he does it because it's fun.
Is that still allowed?

Not wearing a pilot rig, kind of a non issue at that point. -
Willi91Impressive swoops, but I have never in my life seen anyone use that technique in their turns
Charlie has been doing that 90 270 since the mid 90's that I know of. I learned a little something from him back then. At that time I even jumped his 98 Batwing, I was about 240 then without a rig. And no I did not fly it like he did, I jumped it on a breezy day and barely did a 90. He could always get a lot of speed on that turn. -
oldwomanc6***They reported non-life threatening. I can tell you that a broken pelvis could very well be life threatening. He is 72 years old, the surgery is a risk and blood clots could be a real issue. I had surgery on my pelvis just short of two years ago. Because I was non weight bearing for 3 months a having right leg immobilized I had blood clots along with a pulmonary embolism causing a heart attack struggled a bit. I wish him the best. He did the best he could to put it down safely.
That was my first thought, as well, when I heard what his injuries were. A very high percentage of elderly die from (complications from) broken bones below the waist.
I hope you are doing better every day.
I have peaked in my recovery.I am now 51, I can walk for a very short distance and still struggle with a lot of pain. I can only imagine what someone that is 72 will go through regardless of him being "an incredibly strong man". As for as bowling, that is probably not an option now. Maybe he will fool me, I just don't see how he can come back from those injuries at his age even with the best of health care. -

I too was in a motorcycle wreck May 23rd 2013. I fractured my pelvis and my back in six places. From your story you sound like you are healing well. My wife ask the Doctor if I would walk again, he said he could not give a definite answer that it would be up to me. I was able to take my first steps after 3 months in a hospital bed. I spent four weeks in a rehab hospital. I spent two more months in a hospital bed and wheelchair. I went to physical therapy for ten months and to this day I do stretching and the prescribed exercises from my therapist. On a good day I can walk 100 feet and sit up for maybe a total of 30 minutes. I still hope to get better, I will not give up. Everyone is different in their ability to heal and the exact nature of their injury. I am sure I will never jump or even ride again. You sound like you are healing well. Most Doctors probably would not release you to jump, in the end it is your decision. There are others with these types of injuries that have returned to jumping, I hope you will be on that list. -
You sound very knowledgable. There is too much information that is unknown. Yes, the best time for questions is right after the jump. May I suggest you get video on your next jump, it will be easy to review and may answer your questions. -
Remember these are milestones in a great sport, just pay your dues and enjoy the friendships. You will have a lot of new experiences as you stay in the sport, not all of them are beer worthy. Take care of the milestones and the rigger when he has saved your life and enjoy the sport. -
I too was in during the cold war. I spent two years at a front line fighter base in Germany. Even though I was never shot at I do consider myself a Veteran. I have much respect for anyone who has put on a uniform, and being a Patriot Guard member I have had the Privilege to stand in Honor of many Veterans, past and present. -
phoenixlpr***>What are the minimum requirements to jump like this with a tandem?
Generally an AFF rating or experience videoing tandems.
I wonder how can you get experience videoing tandems without doing it.
Just get your Tandem I or AFF, you can then find out what it is like to be a sitting duck under a drogue. It is a helpless feeling to have a mindless meat missile making passes at you. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to put a camera on their head. Hone your skills, get your ratings, then jump a camera. -
I didn't vote because there is not a 500 jump option. Instead of being in a hurry to jump a camera, put some effort into learning to skydive. Skydiving doesn't have to be all about how cool you are, it can be fun also. Just have some fun, learn a little bit and you will some have the ability to make jumps with a little added danger.

It did and has affected many other lives. One that was close to me was Rex Harper. While he did not pass on PV, he blamed himself for not being there and in the right seat. He did lose his fight in his own way and lost his life not being able to get over it.
