  1. Thanks for the great writeup on the suit!
Where are you located at? I just might take you up on the offer!
Also it's pretty obvious that the tail is different from yours and Vicentes suit. Looking where the tail attaches, Vicentes it perfectly straight across, yours tapers narrower and longer past the feet at least 2".
when I asked vite about the short tail he even acknowledged that it was shorter and he gave a reason for them shortening it. Not trying to argue, i am really interested in trying the suit out. It just concerns me when the prototypes are different from the production models. I want the same suit that is being flown in brevant, not one with a shorter tail.

******I'd imagine pretty similar. The Freak having a little more power and speed with the longer tail. The Foghead's tail ends at the floor. But both made for the same purpose. My Foghead is amazing, but pretty excited to test out the Freak.

Actually they shortened the tail, so its the same length as the floor.
This was a change they made after the videos.

I'm not too sure though, my buddy just received his Freak and it has a longer tail like in the promotional video. I know on the website when you go to place an order though it does show the tail ending at the feet.

do you know Vincente Caijaga? ill try and get some pics of his suit, he specifically said they shortened the tail due to flapping issues in a dive.

I was told by a fairly reliable source that they are out of business.

If that is not true, they provided shitty service and cancelled order after 10 months after constantly getting strung along with excuse a new dates that never materialized.

  5. Does anyone have any contact information for this company?
I've heard they didn't pay their employees taxes And are out of business.
Where does that leave the people who paid for the c6air?

  6. I had a w13 and jumped a 170 spectre in it.
I was able to extend the closing loop and get a 260 base canopy in there.(very sloppy)
ive also had a 135 sabre2 in it, as well as a 150 spectre.
it should be doable, but I believe a 170 is what is recommended for that size container.

So, I'm playing with the idea of making a tracking suit from scratch. Not to save cash or anything ,but as a fun project I can actually use. Any thought's on fabric type and the thing exploding in flight?:P
I'm not a rigger, but I don't have a time limit either :)Thanks!

I am actually doing the same exact thing as we speak.
I'm looking for opinions on fabric as well.
The fabric in question is 65% polyester 35% nylon.

  8. im about to make my own tracking suit.
just wondering if a fabric that is 65% polyester and 35% nylon will hold up?
    thanks

  9. I'm getting the same response.
Kenneth claimed the C6 should start shipping on June 20th.
We are less than a week away from that date, no updates, nothing!
It's been over 2 years since I've paid in full for this helmet.
Skysystems needs to step up and get this completed.
These guys claim they are going to make special helmets/ and additional gear to make up for their failure. I'm not holding my breath. They can't even answer the phone.

  10. i started wingsuiting in a 182,
we launch 4 ways quite often out of it. bigsuits included.
here is how we have been doing it.
first person out the door hangs from the strut. (cross your legs/bend knees to keep the tail shut down.)
next person out holds the strut, standing on the step, facing the prop.
next person wedges themselves out the door on the step but next to the body of the plane, last guy is a diver. hangar goes first. we launch 3 and 4 ways quite often like this. make sure the diver has some experience because they end up having to work the most to get to the formation.

  11. the biggest suit that you are most comfortable in.

I fly an Aura and love it for XRW.
at flock n dock this year we did a few jumps with super experienced people.

Lurch(apache xrw),Florez(jedei2),Moe viletto(rbirdpro), etc. rob harris was the canopy pilot was flying at 2.8 leeia.
I was the only person to get in.

on the next jump I got Curt Bartholomew and Nick Bastch to fly canopy. they were at 3.2 on peregrine/valkrie not sure. everyone got in. (I got curts first XRW dock!)

it is the canopy pilots loading and setup, the wingsuit pilots skills and wingsuit that make a successful XRW jump.
    its not just a suit.

I started using the Sony AS100 this year and have specifically asked the editors at 2 different DZs (one which is quite large with lot's of tandem videos) to compare the audio.

Audio quality is very important to me. I wanted to compare the audio of my CX 150 with that of the AS100. Both editors also compared it to the Hero 4.

With the AS100 in the water proof case the audio was at least as good and maybe even a touch better than the CX 150 with no case. It was hands down better than the GoPro even with the GoPro out of it's case and the AS100 still inside the case.

When I took the AS100 out of the case for the in airplane stuff it sounded amazing. It was way better than either the CX 150 and Go Pro 4.

I've never heard any GoPro audio that doesn't sound muddy. It seems they really don't care about audio.

And the editor at the large DZ said the footage looked better and more stable than the Hero 4.

I'm really happy with it. And I mounted it in away to have easy access of the record button and see the red indicator light even in free fall.

I couldn't be happier with the Sony AS 100. Anyone want to buy my (in excellent shape) CX 150?

I made a $10 light relay for mine.
it has an on/off switch and a photocell that sits on top of the indicator light on the top of the camera.
it also has a red led for a status indicator.
    super easy to make.
I found the diagram on here, it weighs next to nothing and fits between the camera and visor when side mounted

Another point worth mentioning is sound quality. Some vidiots are showing up for tandem work with action cams, and the main complaint I hear from the editing bay is complaints about sound quality, especially when it comes to in-plane interaction with the customer.
I'm still clinging to my cx-110 as well. I can't picture being able to keep my clips as clean and short without a hypeye, so therefore switching away would load the editing bay with more cut work. Having a remote start/stop button that provides visual feedback is still too important to me to give up.

the Sony as100v actually has really good sound compared to most other action cams.
I use a sena 20s intercom and you can clearly hear the conversation in my videos.
the speaker is on the inside of my helmet and the cam is on the outside of a full face g3 with visor closed.

I have it like that on my sky helmet and it works ok, but in terms of potentially snagging a bridle the top mount is still better IMO. Due to the FOV it can't be mounted totally flush with the side of the helmet without showing part of your helmet or eye/nose, or at least I haven't figured out a way to do it.

So the front of the camera will be poking out from the helmet an inch or two and can still snag a bridle. Same as most Contour side mounts I've seen. It's better than a stock Gopro mount but it's not perfect.

I jump the AS100v side mounted on the right side.
I only jump wingsuits, so that might put the risers behind my helmet on deployment more than a freefall jump.
ive never had an issue, but that doesn't mean its not going to happen.

I used this last wingsuit season in Europe, and I plan on using it again this year.

most cameras have snag points somewhere, try and minimalize any gaps and sharp corners.
if bolting on the mount is scaring you, try it with nylon screws and test how hard it is to break away

    *** I'm curious:

Additionally, asking "what suit should I buy?" is hard to answer without knowing what you want to do with the suit. Are you looking for a suit for Flocking?

Edited to add: don't buy a suit you haven't flown. If you can't find a demo near you, look harder.

that all sounds good in theory but I found it it's hard in the real world when you're 6 foot 4 and 250 pounds somebody tell me that they have got a demo suit in that size. Please. Fingers crossed. But I'm not holding my breath

Jason bresson might be someone for you to get in touch with keith. I missed you at fitz this year man!

  16. Sleep in the bed you've made.
The responses here clearly state how the BaseJumpers feel about your endeavor.

and get a life, 50 fucking skydives.......
what the fuck is wrong with you?
grasping at straws are we? :D

do the manufacturers know you will be going against their requirements for beginners jump numbers? you do realize they require 200 to use their equipment right?

its apparent you don't care about the base community, manufacturers, or participants.
by supporting the idea of a 50 jump wonder jumping at this event.

please stop trolling the skyjumping forums for people to put in danger.

btw what rigs are you planning on loaning out to the 50jump wonders?

ill be sure to let the manufacturers know that you disregard their safety requirements and have no problem putting them at risk.

Easy there buddy. I'm not trying to get everyone all bunched up here.

Chances are that I'll never even skydive in Florida. I live in CA and all of my travel is dedicated to BASE. Sky tourism just doesn't have as much appeal to me personally.

I was simply trying to point out what I felt was a weakness in your WS criteria. The C license requirement can serve to prevent qualified jumpers from flying there while allowing less-qualified jumpers to cruise right on by.

I think the number of logged WS jumps is a more appropriate measure of experience than a license number (I know these can be faked...but people cheat on tests too). And this is coming from someone who has been asked for feedback on WS criteria at a local DZ. Our solution is to mandate that every jumper first do a non-WS jump to familiarize themselves with the DZ, and the their first WS jump must be with an experienced local to show them the pattern and spotting landmarks.

    Happy flying!

200 jumps is what you need to put on a wingsuit.
200 jumps is also what qualifies you for a C license.
I'm sorry you are too lazy to get your C, but I see no reason to come bitch about your own laziness here. a logbook is a lot easier to fake than a C license.
Romain has been working very hard to keep wingsuiting in Sebastian.
we all travel the world for base trips, sometimes it's nice to be able to get a sky jump in a foreign place.
I don't know any other DZs that have an lz at the local bar on the beach,
    it's kind of nice!

******I got a DJI Phantom with a walkera 2d Gimbal for the GoPro 3.

    And?

I am happy with the setup. Just added FPV this week.
I was not happy using the GoPro without a Gimbal, main reason is that the drone tilts too much and ruins the video. Not an issue when you only take pictures though.

Your are not going to need the samsung tablet for anything relating to drones. Steering with WiFi and a tablet like with some of the (old?) Parrot drones is not really much fun because of the limited range. Using it as an FPV Monitor has too much delay.

The GoPro is usefull for the drone, but if it is only for flying drones then therer may be better options.

actually you can get a UVC grabber and use the tablet for your fpv monitor/dvr. i fly a phantom as well, but use the sony as100v because it has image stabilization.
uhf for the radio and 1.3 ghz for the video. gives 3+ miles of range. they fly away a lot. watch youtube. get uhf you wont be sorry.
