  1. The best ram air for turbulence would be a Parafiol I'd imagine. Not that anyone would want to jump something so safe and boring though.
  2. Enjoyed this thread...hate to get involved but hey...lol this
  3. If you sold your gear and need new stuff anyways, I'd go for a few jumps using something bigger than what you used when you stopped. That first canopy flight will feel familiar but faster than it used to I imagine.
  4. Just go do some more jumps, with as much FF time as you can get. You'll soon be flying exactly how you want. It's all about time in the air. Tunnel would be good but only if it's convenient. FF is more fun anyways. Enjoy, relax, try to not complicate your mind too much and fly more by instinct. As humans...we actually know how to do it somehow, strange that. As is the case with most things, relaxed is how to get comfortable. edit...oh yeah, keep a good arch and a bit of wind on your feet, you'll be fine!
  5. they are electric motors? well, I didn't know that, but I guess to get permission they'd have to be.. So yeah, a lot more than I thought. I figured it would be one big pratt and Whitney or something...like I think I read about in the old days. cheers for the infp!
  6. That seems pretty reasonable when you look at it like that. So if you do 2 way you get double the time? My parents place is just minutes from there, I'll have to check it out this summer. Wondering what the fuel cost is to run that thing for an hour?
  7. Nice to know it's working! man...$800 ph, Good price I guess, but I could never do that. All those people with 30 tunnel hrs are rich as hell or what?
  8. I want the cheesy music I had a rig like that, Wonderhog with belly band and 252 foil actually, wearing it in my profile pic...1984 Clairsholm Alberta
  9. wow 720 @ 240 fps sounds pretty cool, as does the remote viewfinder

I love the suits, but kinda funny how those who have no time to respond to emails have like 5000+ posts on here...I'd say they should have had some spare time no?
  11. I would recommend a 170ish, Sabre 2 or similar.. very friendly canopy that will give you enough performance to keep you happy and safe. You have a great attitude IMO, don't let the ego take over.
  12. When I had about 20 jumps I bought my first rig, a Parafoil 252 in a Wonderhog. I was dreaming of flying it but it would be a while until I could get to the DZ. It was windy, I thought I'd just tie off to a tree and give it a go. Couldn't find a rope so I used a 60ft extension cord, tied around the chest strap with no release. About 2 seconds after I inflated the chute I was directly over the tree in the 20 knot winds. My life flashed before my eyes as I buried one toggle to get to one side and the cut away the main at about 12 ft. Looking back, it could have been sooo bad, I was super lucky the cable didn't break. When I inspected it after it was full of big bumps, every inch. I lived to walk away though.
  13. I've been thinking about this type of deployment system since the first big suits came out. Makes perfect sense to me,
  14. Sounds great but yeah, get it under 5k and maybe. As you know, technological devices are the worst investments as they become obsolete so quickly. My old F3 body was worth $700 for 20 years. Made 10s of thousands of dollars with it, I hate the my Digital stuff becomes basically worthless. I put all my money in lenses and stuff instead.
  15. Normal snivel with a hard twist right at opening to me could suggest that some lines are not even, shorter/longer on one side. They'd have to be quite a bit out to do that though.
  16. That's the way to look at it, it's all fun on the way there, if you have the time and money, you will get to realize your dream. Look forward to a post from you confirming your A licence!
  17. OP, nice you're so interested in wingsuit prox flying, but sadly (or happily) just like all who see a youtube vid, it probably will never happen for you. You can make it happen from scratch, but we're talking lots of time, money and effort, years and years of participating hardcore. Yeah, looks cool and easy, you might think you could do one with a few dozen jumps, depends if you want to live through it or not.
  18. I too started with a T10, then a PC, then a parafoil 252, and so on until now, truth be told, gear has never been better than it is now.
  19. I need to get a better still camera than my gopro, but it has to be small and zoom, not nessissarily interchangable, but good optics like Zeiss. Ive been looking at some from Fuji, Contax and Sony DSC-RX100, 1.8 zeiss http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DSC-RX100/specifications looks good but wishing it stopped down past f11 and had longer than 4 sec shutter speed. Ideally a line out or wifi for monitoring the image. What I'd love is a remote control for the zoom as well...that probably doesn't exist anywhere yet at an affordable price I'm sure but I may try to rig up a servo myself, that'll be really cheap and probably work fine. Also anybody know if there is any other cameras than gopro that will do vid and stills at the same time? Anyone here use a rangefinder? It has to be light enough for my Phantom quad, so under 400g or so...cheers
  20. I can't say I'm surprised by the love for guns by a lot of people in this forum.
  21. pretty sure if he could afford a pelican case for a rig, he wouldn't need to pawn his rig...
  22. I got my A, B and C within a few months of each other, never bothered with the D, probably never will
  23. You violated another jumper's TRUST. I don't care that everyone else on the load was "in" on the "joke". I'd never jump with you again. And I'd tell everyone why. There's quite a few people I won't jump with or get on the same load with them because of 1) past personal jumping experiences with them, 2) hearing from others they're a douche bag on jumps or under canopy by way of recklessness, 3) knowing what they were doing the night before (drugs, alcohol, etc.). What you perceive as funny could've seriously effed your friend up. Not cool, not funny, not smart. lol, at my old DZ there'd be nobody to jump with then
  24. All my camera setups have always been pretty much 99% snag proof. I always cringe at the Gopro stuff, seems to be on everyone too. Odds are slim, but they exist.
