  1. There are some videos of it beeing done. But risk free is probably to much to ask. https://youtu.be/0PCccDQaCmw
  2. Re: formatting USB. I would suggest FAT32 if it's possible. Newer types might not work on other devices as DVDs and mediaplayers. I have my 64 GB card to my GoPro formated FAT32 so that I can look at the videos on a mediaplayer.
  3. Is that aussie rules or US rules? About RSL, look up stevens lanyard in poynters. It connects your main with your belly reserv
  4. Thousands? Contrast that to the millions of times a year that standard skydiving configurations are jumped. Do you have the figures on this? If we were jumping BASE rigs, what would the annual fatality rate be, given the number of skydives stays the same? But those millions of skydives has all been done with flat nice ground and no obstacles to hit. If you want to compare use apples on both sides. How many landing injuries are there if everything else is equal? An offheading has nothing to do with the canopies performance to make a soft landing. I'm not saying I think it's a good idea to jump with only one canopy on a DZ, but BASE canopies are (if packed correct) much more reliable than sky mains in my opinion. The reason I think it's not a good idea is because I think people will pack faster and faster after each jump because they can't keep up with their friends. To sum it up, not because of the equipment but because of the human.
  5. What most new packers make mistakes at is when you make the second fold (placing the tail on the slider/label). If you don't make that fold far enough past the grommets you are pushing the first fold out. Make sure the second fold is in line with the first fold if you look at the folds from above is really what I'm saying. That is the main problem I see when people are packing. If your canopy is large you can place one knee on each side of the first fold, this will keep the canopy from spreading out. But that does not work on smaller canopies because the fold is too small
  6. Thanks. But last time I checked that map, the Florida is still on the wrong side of the atlantic ocean as Snowcrash aslo mentioned
  7. I have sent an email to a few cinemas. SF said they don't decide themselfs what is shown. And two other cinemas (private owned) never even replied to my mail. If you find one that are willing to show it, please let me know.
  8. I agree, it shouldn't be a bit issue at all, just replacing the lower brake lines. So he cut of part of the line? Why not just fingertrap it further in to the line? Seems like a better solution in my mind, if there is enough room for it.
  9. Is that your signature the last one?
  10. If you upload it to youtube you can upload the srt and it will be visible on the video. Or depending on how much you can do with the gopro software, is it possible to use "green screen" with it? If yes you can use that method. But I won't explain it in detail until I know if it's even possible
  11. Good question. I agree with Lee. It's right on the edge of being too far gone, but not just yet. I wish I could just bind the edge of that riser to make it bombproof That's a good idea. Why isn't that done at the factory, binding the edge 4-5 inches by the rings where sharp egdes could be might save the gear. I understand that why a rigger in field can't do it, but if it's factory made you know the riser is undamaged under the binding.
  12. Yes it limits how far apart they can go, but not how much apart they normally go. All my canopies, and all videos I have seen, the slider is not streched out front to back.
  13. Re: Europes one year repack. Here the repackcard says which day is the last day jumping is legal with the rig. If that day is because of rig, reserve or AAD expires in repack, age or AAD maintnence/age.
  14. Read the manual Page 28 in pdf (or 56) at the bottom after note:
  15. Then you will have to spend most of the summer at Walmart But this model might be more reliable than all other GoPro? I don't know...
  16. You can't take out the battery on that model? What are you going to do when it freezes up?
  17. I get such marks on my slinks too. And I have a 140 and spectra lines.
  18. Make one yourself, and you can have whatever colour you want and how long you want/need it to be. I made one of type 8 as the sliderstowing part and type 4 around the reserve closing flap, and a tiny bit of type 17 as the "flap" to grab the sliderstow. (Not that it's needed but all stows have one)
  19. Googling on the owners name as the seller says shows this: https://www.google.se/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=thomas%20huf It might be as he says. But I'm not sure about zero jumps on the Cypres
  20. Jerry, can you elaborate more on this? I don't understand that if the magnets have the same releasing force as the suggested locking stows with rubber bands, why does the fact of being a magnet changes anything? As I see, the force on the magnets is at least more constant, and I'd like to believe that it was measured by the manufacturer (5 pounds?) Every time you do a rubber band stow, there are many more random factors can make it tighter or looser. EDIT: After writing this I thought better about the mechanics and the fact that the rubber bands go through the grommets on the locking stows which is hard to emulate with the magnets. Anyway, seems like this problem was figured out according to this video https://vimeo.com/120294419 An easier way to think about it is if the rubber bands had to break in order to release the canopy. At lower speeds there is less energy being developed to extract the canopy. It would be more difficult to break the rubber band. Can anyone of you define "low speed" as you used it here in this thread? In my opinion a hop n' pop is still from an airplane flying at around 80-100 mph. A PC at 80-100 mph is most likely pulling at it's max force, at least from what I have read from charts. So what is different? Or are you all talking about low speed as hop n' pop from an hot air baloon?
  21. In my opinion the SMS/GPS thing does not need to have anything with the AAD. Imagine you set up four corners of the field you jump at, if your phone detects you are within these corners, all good. But if you are outside of them and below 300 ft (no chance to land on the DZ) then it sends the SMS. This means it only helps if you have a parachute, not for terminal speeds, but then again the phone won't work anyways at terminal. I see no reason to "wait for an impact" before sending an SMS for hemp.
  22. I have a mPod, which I guess is the bag you are talking about. But I'm not sure I understand the problem you are talking about. I think I understand your concern but for me it's not an issue. I would not pack a to large canopy in the bag. But the magnets hold very well in my opinion, with my 10 sqf smaller canopy than the bag is sized for.
