  1. The easiest way to get PDF's on your kindle is to email them to your whispernet email address. It's usually [email protected]. -Steven
  2. I've been jumping with it in my container for 3yrs now! Never had to use it though. It was deemed airworthy by my rigger. Lines, aside from a small blood stain, are crisp and white, and it looks to be in good shape. It came with a vector II I bought (which I am retiring to use in halloween costumes). I guess I will put it up on classifieds to see If i get any bites! -Steven
  3. Just wondering what a Swift Plus 200 DOM '92 would go for these days? Unknown number of jumps, but at least one. -Steven
  4. #3 did indeed occur. It was the force of the reserve opening that eventually ripped the grommet out and freed the jumper. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=7624&string=static%20line%20hangup -Steven
  5. Personally I think its a conspiracy to get me to spend way more money then I want to, but that being said, I also don't want my risers exploding when I deploy or the rings jamming up when I cut away. I should also mention that Mike "Maddog" Maguire over at UPT was extremely helpful in helping me figure out what I need part wise (I also needed to get a RSL for my Vector II). -Steven
  6. I went over them with my rigger and he felt that the fraying had already been burned off a few times in the past. They were also 25" long. I opted to buy a new pair or 21" truloc risers from UPT. -Steven
  7. The riser covers are also velcro -Steven
  8. Can anyone confirm that if I buy a new pair of risers from UPT, that they will have the RSL shackle pre-installend? -Steven
  9. Someone requested a sideview of the 3-ring, find attached. The gromet seems to look worse in the photo then up close but I will definitely get my rigger to take a look at it. Confirmed that the housing in the riser is a soft housing. I guess the other thing worth mentioning is that I am sending this back to UPT to have a RSL installed - they are going to have to add the shackle to the riser to support this, so let me ask, would new risers come with this installed already? and if so, it seems like it might actually be cheaper to replace. -Steven
  10. I'm trying to do some cost minimization here (you know, recession and all) so unless they pose a saftey risk I am going to try and hold off on replacing them - I don't really expect to be using this container for all that long. Some photos attached. -Steven
  11. I bought a Vector II container DOM 1991 that looks to have the original risers with velcro toggles. The webbing on the front risers more so then the rear risers looks like it has had plenty of contact with the velcro and is frayed along the edges. I am going to have my rigger OK them first before jumping, but I'm wondering if I should replace them before I take the reserve in to be repacked just to minimize the amount of time and trips back and forth required. Is there any tell-tale sign on risers that they should be replaced, or is the fraying normal for containers with velcro? Thanks. -Steven
  12. For what it's worth, the two colbalt 190's posted in the classifieds are actually 170's (and it's a duplicate post). -Steven
  13. I was at a range in Vegas and the employee's could tell I was not local. They advised me to hang on to my receipt incase I set it off, apparently it has happened. -Steven
  14. Is this to say that a container that is listed as "Cypress Ready" cannot be modified by a rigger (ie: installing the correct pouch) to accept another manufacter's AAD? -Steven
  15. Thanks all - thats the info I was looking for.. I'd like to get a Vigil but wanted to make sure it'll work with a Cypress ready container. Thanks again. -Steven
