  1. i guess thats true! i just wish i were farther into the aff program!! this hobby is quite pricey! worth every single cent put into though! bummed out because i can't jump for a while! it'll be raining through the next weekend! booooo!!!
  2. Hey! Thanks! My last jump I tried taking deep breaths right as the door opened and people were jumping out. I think it really did help! I've got to remember to do that every time...and to smile!
  3. Thanks! I have heard of pointing my toes before but I always forget. Too much going on in my head! LOL!
  4. Hey! Thanks for the advice! I went to the wind tunnel two separate times and had two completely different experiences. My AFF instructor told me I picked up bad habits and told me to hold off on going back for a while. That bummed me out. I think I'm going to just kick my legs out as far as I can and then work back in, ya know what I mean? I never get them out far enough so I'll go to the extreme! Ha ha!
  5. Hi! My name is Amanda and I am an AFF student! I've only completed seven jumps so far. Three tandem and four with instructors. I'm stuck at Cat-C because I can't get my legs out!!! I crack up every time my instructor tells me to relax. I'm like...dude...i'm jumping out of a plane. Skydiving is the best decision I have ever made! Nothing can compare and my life will never be the same!
  6. I had a hard time with my tandem pull too. My instructor had to reach back and help me. The second time, I still couldn't get it and my instructor had to pull from his side. I definitely like the solo rigs compared to the tandem. Much easier to chuck a pilot chute now! ~Amanda
  7. I did my first tandem jump in August of 08' and have been hooked ever since. A lot of that has to do with the environment and how welcome the whole crew at Skydance makes you feel. I have met so many cool people out there and have had several different instructors. They each have a unique style of teaching and are all very talented and full of information. I feel comfortable with every jump. The plane is well kept and roomy. The DZ is clean and not overly crowded. It is a relaxing place to just hang out. Everyone from the little store, snack shack, manifest and local jumpers are super cool and friendly. I've invited everyone I know to come jump at Skydance! I feel safe and know I'm in capable hands. If you want to jump, do it there!!!!
