  1. No! But I want to take a #selfie and send it to my friends while under canopy
  2. Sometimes I think that you must be a troll :D
  3. It's very easy to find people to jump with at skydive spain so don't worry :) But I hope you are aware that it's possible to skydive up north too ;) There is many jumpers from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark that visit Skydive Spain during winter time but in the summer we are busy jumping here ;)
  4. You should take up Base jumping, 66 jumps is enough experience, who cares that more than half are tandemsYou will skip all the DZ politics, meet some nice people, won't have to worry about sky hooks and Aad's as you will always use your "reserve" ;)
  5. On my drop zone we didn't get radio assistance on our AFF jumps, most people still landed ok even on their first jumps :) With good ground training I don't think radios are really necessary, unless the landing area where you want to do your Aff is small or there are no safe places for landing out. Have fun!
  6. Why do you register a new account for a thread like this? Hard to take you seriously....
  7. No problem, enjoy and jump your ass off and we might end up having a beer after a day of jumping someday ;) The world is very small once you start skydiving ;)
  8. Ths reminds me why I like the American fighting man, he doesn't take shit from anyone! If we ever meet I owe you a jump just for your service. As someone who thinks that war in Iraq is pointless I don't own you sh*t, but I will give you advice... Skydiving is soooo much different than what you expect it to be, I got in to the sport with a goal in mind but after some jumps I realized how freaking fun it is :) I have 136 jumps and I tried a bit of everything, I still don't have a plan what discipline I will pursue, everything is fun as hell and very chellenging. If your anti-social fuck like me, just track your ass off, even though it's more fun to jump with friends, tracking is still my number one choice if I have nobody to jump with, seeing the distance you cover and having your goggles blow off your face from the forward speed is as close to flying as it can get...before you can try a wingsuit ofcourse ;) But I bet that once you get to know some people on your dropzone you will realize how many amazing human beings you can share your experience of freefall with and you won't have to think about jumping solo. For now concentrate on getting your A license, it is worth it :)
  9. Although the Cruise might be an awesome suit (never flown it), the keyword (again) here is "right hands". A certain RUSSIAN opened from the same cliff high above the landing area with a prodigy1 years ago and people who really suck in a big suit cannot make it there today. So you could rightfully say as well that the Prodigy in right hands outperforms some of the modern ws designs. :) Hats off to the frenchies though, that is some very impressive tracking regardless of the suit used! Well, there you go, RUSSIAN ;) I bet he landed with his slider still the whole way up the lines ;) BTW, in 2010 there was a movie posted with someone tracking all the way to the landing area in Pressurised G2 suit but it is hard to call it a track suit with big leg wing and small wings on the arms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWF5bdVfvr8 All jokes aside about Russians, I totally agree with you. But still, for me it is fun to see how many new tracksuits are coming out this year and how big it is getting. Except Tonys suit, Cruise and squirrel suit, there is Raven (Rami Kajalas own tracking suit), I met a guy in Spain that was working on developing his own tracksuit (german, don't remember the name of his company), then I also noticed some short clip on youtube of a french guy jumping his own design that he's working on. I don't think the market for tracking suits is THAT big but it's fun with new stuff, I really wonder what kind of performance we can get out of the new generation of tracking suits when there are people doing stuff in the old designs that is mindblowing... ...like here, "old" phoenix fly wide in the "right hands" ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IKN3sx6CnE&feature=share&list=FLFR7napv22h0BNitKC-lcbQ&index=4 Yep, I love tracking :)
  10. Chris, how about you tell us which canopies you jumped with? From what I remember you have ONE tandem jump, do you seriously need to give advice to people that think you are actually experienced skydiver? Giving advice to people is fine as long as you make it perfectly clear that you are NOT a skydiver... Back to the topic, I started jumping Sabre 2 190 after 25 jumps, I tried some other 190s before that but I had best landings with Sabre. The only problem is that at lower wing loadings outer cells might stay callapsed after opening but it's not really a big deal, pumping the brakes fixes the problem quickly. I had some offheading openings but it was always caused by shitty body position or pulling from full track in a tracksuit.
  11. http://youtu.be/D9qfTlALLpU Cruise in the right hands outperforms early wingsuit designs, I wonder if Tonys suit will be even better. I will probably never buy a one piece track suit but I would love to try one. For now I'm more than happy with my "old" PF suit :)
  12. Did my first 4 AFF jumps on sprained ankle from a motorcycle crash :P I didn't tell my instructors as I was affraid they won't let me jump, probably not the smartest thing I did but it worked out ok :P
  13. That just seems like a very presumptuous and disrespectful thing to say coming from somebody with zero experience. We all were new once (I still consider myself a relatively new skydiver, and a very new BASE jumper). We all asked ridiculous questions. I just took offense when he started talking about how other jumpers are "idiots" for going in, and how his bicycle skills give him a qualified view of the sport. But whatever. Internet! I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking you are a complete prick. By the way, I was correct last time. You said a friend of yours died so that makes you -1 friend. I really hope you see him soon. With this kind of attitude, I would be surprised if you ever do more than 50 jumps untill you give up and find some other, more "extreme" hobby to do. Jumping solo gets old very very fast...
  14. I had similar issues during my AFF but it got better with time. It did not last as long as for you though, what helped me was blowing air through my nose while holding it shut with my fingers on the way to alltitude. I often do that only once when we are on final. Now days it happens only sometimes when I haven't jumped for a longer period of time.
  15. It's sad how much hate in one thread! Sure he fucked up, I think everyone got it by now but come on, leave the guy alone! What he did was stupid, but seriously, right now all that is happening is people that probably never met him just following the crowd and coming up with more drastic ways to teach him a lesson. What do you people want to do before you are happy? Cut his hands off? Bury him allive? WTF, this thread is even more silly than what he did on the record attempt. Everyone who was on that jump and was affected by his actions can complain as much as they want but people that never met him should think twice before they write something...no matter how much someone fucks up it is not ok to ruin their life because of one mistake. NO, I don't know him, never met him, never heard of him before this incident.
  16. Exits. Most of my exits are diving exits and they are not a problem but I still struggle with a normal exit facing front of the plane. Slow learner here :P
  17. The problem with EB is that it got very expensive. I was thinking about going there this winter but after I heard about the prices I quickly decided that it will be Skydive spain near Seville again ;)
  18. I finished my AFF at skydive spain in january :) I highly recommend that place. I know they have plenty of english instructors, great weather year round and they jump from 15 000ft ;)
  19. Stop overthinking :) I was stuck on level 3 and 4 too :) Everyone does AFF at their own pace, stop comparing yourself to others and just have fun, you will get it. The funny part is that most of my friends that went through AFF without problems don't jump anymore, people that struggled seem to stick around for longer :)
  20. Only if we can have another competition for biggest male douchebag on the DZ. How will you spend the money? Might seem cheesy but with the money id take SkydiveBeauty out on a date Your avatar + the stuff you write here makes me want to vomit...
  21. I struggled through AFF, had similar thoughts to yours about this sport not being for me...well guess what, 76 jumps later Im still here having time of my life
  22. He did better than I did on my AFFNothing but mad respect and love! Super inspirational! Makes me wanna scream to myself HARDEN THE FUCK UP
