  1. Anyone have any experience with reverse s fold packing? I'm a big guy with a big canopy, and putting a knee on my first fold often makes it squirt to the sides. A reverse s fold makes for a cleaner pack job for me, but I worry about the slider creeping up when the last fold is put in place. If anyone has a video out there of them packing it this way, that'd be cool. There's one on youtube, but its so so. I've watched Nick Grillets vid on how to pack a large canopy, but I think that works better if youre a slender spider monkey. No offense Nick
  2. I'm too lazy and antisocial to actually make a phone call. And with the 13 week delivery time it'll likely make me put off a new canopy. But I was kicking it around in a half hearted fashion.
  3. I saw some posts that PD prices were going up. How much are they, and is that nasty 13 week production time really 13 weeks? Anyone know?
  4. So, Lodi isn't a part of the uspa as far as I know. Which got me to wondering how many dropzones aren't, and what advantages they get for not being in. Anyone have a guestimate? Lodi is the only one I've ever heard of.
  5. I was thinking of going to eloy in dec. Thanks for the info.
  6. Still no balloon jumps in Eloy? Anyone in the know want to chime in?
  7. Well, That's a bummer. I was planning to go out to Eloy primarily for the balloon. Those are my favorite jumps. If anyone hears if balloons are coming back to Az, please post.
  8. I feel normal. I imagine it might be tough to get a size 16 shoe for a foot pocket comparison in Slovenia.
  9. I put my order in on Feb 20 for the Havok and it's been 11 weeks. Any idea if I'm likely to get it soon? I know they're very busy, and I'm not complaining, I'm just hoping I can put enough jumps on it to use it at the heliboogie. Love the company, but I wish they could return emails a bit better.
  10. Anyone know the production times of a Phoenix Fly wingsuit? I ordered one in February and I know they are nuts busy.
  11. I have a select comfort that I was somewhat happy with for awhile. However, if you buy the kind with two mattresses, you'll slope between them. After four years mine started to leak, and I found out their warranty is pro-rated with the price for replacement so high it would be cheaper to but a new bed. In looking to fix the bed myself I found the design of the bottom of the bed to be terrible and the hoses and pump to be shoddy. I had a crummy experience with this bed and I would never buy another select comfort product. I'm currently using the 3" latex foam from the top of that bed on my old bed and I like it. I'm convinced foam beds are the best way to go and I'm currently pricing them out. I'd give Bragada a look if I was you. Good luck.
  12. I flew out to San Diego to jump and had no troubles with my rig as carry on on the way out, but they forced my to check it on the way back. The TSA supervisor wouldn't let it go since they couldn't verify what the add was. They thought it looked like an explosive. For my next trip I'll go carry on again, but I'll bring a copy of the TSA rules, and also the image of the xray'd rig that vigil sent me.
  13. Al Heter lives in farmington and jumps in Waseca. He might be your closest. Here's his email. [email protected]
  14. Anvils of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your slots on Cesna 182s. I saw those two posts of yours before while looking through the forums. I have no doubt that the best way to address the fall rate issue is with wings, but how much performance do you lose for rw work? I have a camera jacket I bought from FreaknSuits and I've jumped it maybe three times when I was in Perris, and it made me feel awkward. Nothing against F S, I'm pleased with the quality of the ff jacket and pants I have from them, but I don't know if I like the idea of having a rw suit with wings. Can you fly just as well with a rw suit with wings? Are there ever problems during pull time, like more line twists? What are the pros and cons of flying with that extra fabric? You should see the problems I've had with my rig and canopy. But that's a different post.
  15. Bigger than the average bear. 6'8" and my weight fluctuates between 260-290. I'm trying to drop weight for my fall rate, but I doubt I'll ever be below 260 with my current muscle mass. I want the suit for RW work. I'm ok with my fall rate while sit flying, and I haven't done much head down. It's only when I'm doing formations that I seem to drop away from the fun. You seem like a greased anvil type Bigun, what suit do you like with what options?
  16. I have looked at the postings on the forums. Not all of course, but a lot of them. And the websites of the manufacturers. There isn't a lot of good info out there. Specifically I want to know about the quality of the big guy suit by EG. Also do the vented booties help, or are they just a gimmick? What fabric is best, and what type of lining is perferable? I think that wings would be ecxessive, but extra fabric under the arms with swoop cords seem like they would help a lot. Thanks for a rehash for all you jumpers out there who have been there.
  17. Anyone own a big guy suit by EG? I need to slow my fall rate. Also, what extras really help in the fall rate? Double fabric...lining? Booties? They have booties that are vented, anyone know if that helps or if it is just a pain? Gussets? And what the hell are swoop cords and do they work? Thanks to all you O2 starved DZ rats for your input.
  18. $65 From a local rigger not on the DZ. Good work. I had to use his elevator down once.

I did a refresher course out at Waseca after being out of the sport for seven years and was pleased with the level of care. The guys (and gals) who run the operation are there because they love to jump and just want to have more buds to jump with. I've been out there a few times since and have always had a good time with great jumps.
  20. Yesss!!! A DZ in Belize! Get it up and running Grimster. I can feel the money being sucked out of my kids college fund already. Hopefully I'll be there this Feb to teach you not to slow play them aces.
