  1. Already been done, far more interestingly in the past. Check out the video link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMxXHY1f8Xk&fmt=18
  2. If you want to see depressing visuals, try visiting the old Air Adventures West dropzone in Taft,CA.
  3. If I were you, I would go back and delete that comment. The lawyers are reading these threads.
  4. When a person dies due to negligence, a simple “sorry dude” doesn’t cut it in my book. They have the right to sue.
  5. You can technically skydive alone, but it gets really boring and unfulfilling. If you want to break into the social circle at a dropzone, you really have to be there every weekend. You can’t just stroll in once a month and expect people to acknowledge you. People will jump with you if they think you are serious about the sport and not just a tourist. Showing up randomly and only doing 40 jumps per year is a surefire guarantee to becoming a loner at the dropzone. If you can’t afford or don’t want to jump that often, I highly recommend bringing your own friends with you. They don’t have to jump but they can provide you with a lot of moral support. Bringing friends with you also helps you to avoid the dropzone politics.
  6. While I have mad respect for anyone that can cook a great meal, culinary schools are a rip off. You spend 25K in tuition to make $8/hr to work as a sous chef at the local Macaroni Grill & Cheesecake Factory, if you are even that lucky. Avoid the Art Institutes as well. Just my advice. Good luck.
  7. Source?? No it hasn't. You are thinking of brainwave measuring devices like EEG's. Those sensors they stick on your head are measuring voltage and being translated into brain activity. They do have sensors that pick up muscle contractions, which trigger the motors inside the prosthetic. They don't actually pick up the impulses your brain is trying to send to the missing limb. Think about it, if they had that technology, they could cure paralysis. Until I see them surgically attach wires to the hacked off nerve endings, I will not believe these prosthetics are actually triggered by brain impulses. That news segment was totally misleading and perhaps gave false hope to those who want to believe this hype.
  8. I’m very happy to see them finally doing research to advance prosthetics. When they finally perfect the ability to tap into the old nerve endings, it will be like having a new arm again. It looks like the technology isn’t too far away. I wasn’t completely sold on that guy who claimed he was tapping into his old nerves with those prosthetic sensors on his limb. Those sensors were just picking up muscle movement of what was left of his arm. They need to physically go in with surgery and connect those old nerves into a data port of some kind that plugs into the prosthetic each time you put it on. Stop lying, and saying those sensors are picking up nerve impulses when they aren’t. Until I see surgery being done with those nerves endings, I will not be sold. Nuff said.
  9. Well, you can patronize the new AFF instructors all you want. The bottom line is this…..YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
  10. Kia is considered a cheap car. They won't last much beyond 100K. I used to own one. The paint job sucks on all Kia cars. It peels off the front grill & bumper after about 3 years. The oil had to be filled w/ 1 quart every 1500 miles after about 60K miles. It's either leaking or eating a lot of oil! The brakes sucked. Almost rear-ended a couple of times on the freeway because there wasn't enough stopping power. Have fun, but it's a throw away car.
  11. This video is the funniest shit I've ever heard! "Her man may be good provider, but he's not hitten them walls & workin the middle like that dawg she's havin that secret sex with!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqg_ceFM30I&fmt=18
  12. Dude, just go and do it. Get your T-shirt and go brag to your family & friends how bad ass it was. Then move on with your life.
  13. I find it fascinating that the PG-13 is actually aimed towards getting teens into the movie. I remember when I was 12 years old going to see Robocop 2 & Terminator 2 in the theater with my friends. They didn’t card people back then.
  14. This just has to stop. Hollywood has gone too far. Terminator 4 will be PG-13! No wonder Christian Bale got so upset. I guess they want to sell Terminator happy meals as well. (this is not a joke) http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Terminator-4-Will-Be-PG-13-8725.html I just don’t understand how a movie based on horrific violence and war can be watered down to PG-13? At least Rambo 4 didn’t sell-out. I just don’t think it is widely acknowledged what an important element that graphic violence is to an action movie. Discuss……
  15. Well, actually the radio station 97.1 still has to pay him through 2012. His contract basically has a “no-cut” clause. They can’t buy him out of his contract. The only way I could see him not getting paid is if the radio station goes bankrupt (which is a possibility) The new format “AMP Radio” is garbage. Basically, he can sit at home and collect his paycheck for doing nothing. That’s great for him, bad for us. He won’t have any incentive to work until his contract is up.
  16. The guy is #1 in the L.A. market in the afternoon. I really hope he is re-hired someplace else.
  17. This is my all time favorite segment. Every young guy should listen to this. Listen all the way through. It’s about 7min. It really hits home especially toward the end. This is pure genius. It really opened my eyes about the opposite sex. I was carrying a lot of resentment towards women, but after listening to this, it completely changed my outlook for the better. WHY NICE GUYS DON’T GET LAID http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzMrUc6e204&fmt=18
  18. I am really disappointed to hear that Tom Leykis is going off the air today, along with Adam Corolla and the other 97.1FM talkshow personalities. This is due to the bad economy. The station is switching formats and will be broadcasting AMP Radio, which will be nothing but Top40 crap. There will be no on-air personalities. I’ve been listening to Tom everyday for over a year and he has been a huge inspiration in my life. I am truly sad to see him go off the air. He was like a father. I wish him nothing but the best in life. I am so sad to see him go. Today will be his last broadcast from 3-5pm, If you don’t live in L.A., you can listen on the internet feed at http://www.blowmeuptom.com/
  19. Schindler’s list Malcom X American Pie 2
  20. http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/2442/69/ With gas dropping under $2 per gallon again, it looks like these idiots are a buck short and a day late with their concept electric car. Had they been out a year ago, they would have had a big market but they missed it. I still don't think any normal person would be caught dead driving something that looks like it came out of the Jetsons. A 300 mpg hybrid version is also in the works but I just don't think this company has the capital to make this dream a reality.
  21. Just found this interesting assessment on craigslist, although I did not type it, I wish I had. What do you think? http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/pit/453035602.html Women are not actually attracted to men. There is a vague idea of what a man is physically, and some are better than others aesthetically speaking, but the purely physical appearance of a man is almost inconsequential unless he is horribly ugly or outrageously attractive. Women are attracted to status, money, how much a man smiles and laughs, how many friends and resources a man has, how full a man's life is--how many "cool," "exciting" and prestigious things he is doing or connected to. They are interested in how other people view him--how many people want to be around him, how other people interact with him and whether their interactions convey that he is special and amazing. They want him to be extremely outgoing and aggressive, they want him to demonstrate his status over other people by dominating them in various non-violent ways. A woman's attraction to a man is a function of her jealousy at the thought of another woman having that man. She doesn't care who he actually is or EXACTLY what he looks like physically, she only cares about the VALUE of the life he has constructed around himself. A woman basically is a greedy materialistic prostitute. Although that sounds vulgar, it's true. She trades her physical self to buy into the success a man has created for himself. As a man, I fall in love with how a woman is physically. I fall in love with simple parts of a woman. Like the way her hair falls around her face, the line of her neck, her shoulders. They way her ears might peek from her hair. Her eyelashes. The size and shape of her hands, her fingernails. The way she walks, the way she looks when she is tired or annoyed, the sound she makes when she sneezes, coughs, or cries. The way she sits in a chair. The way she breathes while experiencing different emotions. The way her lips move. A million little things. Sure, a huge part of my attraction is mental, but the powerful seed of love that builds within me and crystallizes is based greatly on visual things that set off torrents of emotion and need. It seems to me that women almost cannot think for themselves. Their estimates of worth are based on other peoples' estimates of worth. They don't really find an object beautiful on their own. The object becomes beautiful when other people let her know that it is beautiful. I'm completely unable to reconcile the differences between men and women. It seems like success with women is equal to spending half of your life working to create a giant illusion, something vastly tiring and annoying, while sacrificing your own true self and your own interests. We construct our lives around nest-building. We're like male birds building nests and showing them off to attract mates. It's pathetic. Everything we do is to get women. It is a fucking shit deal.
  22. With all due respect, if you don’t have a PhD in Orthopedics, your opinions are no more credible than mine. Just to clarify, First, I said the Sabre 2 was “fine” for softer openings. I never said it was the best. I wouldn’t sell my Sabre 2 in favor of a Katana, as someone suggested earlier. Secondly, I speak from experience when I say that holding my neck out & upward has in fact caused neck pain during hard openings. Ever hear of whiplash? Pressing my chin down against my chest on deployment has prevented neck injury on subsequent hard openings.
  23. Good to hear. As far as openings, I've never heard of a head injury or concussion caused by a hard opening. However, during deployment, I always move my chin downward touching my chest in case I get slammed. This is done more to avoid neck injury though. Always wear a helmet! Did you have one on when you fell off that wall?
  24. The Sabre 2 is fine, at least as fine as any modern canopy for soft openings. If you have problems with your recovery, I highly recommend EEG biofeedback therapy. http://www.minti.com/parenting-advice/5939/EEG-BiofeedbackGet-your-Brain-into-gear/
