  1. OK, I gotta ask. Why does the front of the box have a rectangular opening that is smaller than the lens? That has got to show up in the video. Other than that it looks like you have done a good job. Blue Skies, Jason
  2. I have flown out of BNA (Nashville) several times with my rig. Most recently was summer 2009. I have never had a problem with it. The first time, I packed it in a hard suitcase and checked it. When I got to my destination it had a tag on it saying that it had been opened by the TSA. I was not notified they were going to open it but everything seemed OK (unlike some other horror stories I have heard about). After that I ALWAYS carry it on so it's never out of my sight. I usually put it in a gear bag to cut down on the odd looks and questions that you get when you board the plane with a rig over your sholder. I keep my hook knife on the rig and I do have an AAD. I just carry the info that USPA recommends on their website. About renting gear.... Would you rather jump your gear that you are familier with and have 3 jumps on or would you rather jump some gear that you know nothing about that you have NEVER jumped before? Hope this helps. Blue Skies, Jason
  3. ***It ain't photoshop. Then someone had way, Way, WAY to much time on their hands to set that up!
  4. Looking at the listings for dz's in WV here on DZ.com there is only one. According to the listing they are opening in the spring of 2010. Hope this helps. Blue Skies, Jason
  5. If it's gonna be a little while before you order/buy and you are able to take a road trip to Florida, I would recommend visiting the skydive expo scheduled for March 11-14, 2010. You can read a little more about it here. You should be able to see all of the gear that you want and actually be able to try it on and possibly put a few demo jumps on it. Hope this helps. Blue skies, Jason
  6. How much did Cookie and Mike pay you for the advertising??!! Blue Skies, Jason
  7. Hey Brian, Cool Vid!! Thanks for sharing it with us. It was really cool to see the clip from The Jumping Place in St. Marys, GA. I was traveling in the area and made a jump there yesterday!! Cathy is great! She basically put up a load just for me so I would be able to get a jump in at her DZ while I was there. Blue skies, Jason
  8. Really cool!! I really liked the skydiving footage superimposed on the goggles of the paraglider pilot. Also liked how the lyrics were synced to the vid. That looks like a ton of fun!! Congrats!! Blue skies, Jason
  9. I understand what you are saying about the riser inserts but on my Icon there is probably two inches from where the cable goes through the loop to where the hard insert starts so I would be able to see if there were "enough" cable still through the loop or not. However, there isn't that much distance between the loop and insert on my Mirage so it would be more difficult to determine if "enough" cable is still through the loop. LOL, I totally agree with you there!! Like I said before there is VERY little time from my peel to pull. I am like you, it's always been pretty much one motion. Blue Skies, Jason
  10. I totally agree here. VERY little time for anything to happen between my PEEL and PULL. OK, If that did happen, I would probably look at the risers and see how much cable was still past the loop and if was more than an inch or so, I'd probably fly it in. With tension on the three ring system the cables aren't likely to "slip out". Just my $.02, take into consideration that I hate chasing down my "junk" after a cut-away so I might take more of a "chance" than the next person. Blue Skies, Jason
  11. I think that's a great idea. Of course I am not the one who has to keep a contest going for a year either. Blue Skies, Jason
  12. I thought it might have been. I really enjoy getting their newsletter. It's a good way to start my day and they usually have some pretty interesting stuff in there, especially some of the Aero-TV clips. Edit to add: Incase someone reading this is wondering what we are talking about click here to find out about Aero News or click here to subscribe to their newsletter. Blue Skies, Jason
  13. I saw that on ANN's propwash this morning. Pretty funny.
  14. Hey Nina, It sounds like a home gym may be the best thing for you then. I still stand by my recomendation of the Gold's. It got pretty good reviews on the Walmart site and a quick google of the other one didn't come up with any decent results. I agree with what others have said that you should be able to pick up a good used unit. Especially if you wait till about March or April after all of the New Year's Resoluters (is that a word??) have decided to sell theirs. Again, I wish you the best. Hang in there and "Just Do IT"!! Blue Skies, Jason
  15. Hey Nina, As others have said it is VERY hard to stay motivated with a home gym. I have found that if you are paying for a gym membership it is a motivation to use it (paying $300-$400 for a home gym is a lot of motivation as well) but more importantly, if you can make some friends at the gym that workout at the same times as you it is a HUGH motivation because you know that if you lay out they are gonna ask where you were and you don't want to tell them "I just laid out" and you can help each other reach your goals. All that being said, If you are gonna buy a home gym, either of the one's listed should do just fine but I voted for the Gold's for two reasons. 1) It costs less.. so when you quit using it you are out less $$.
  16. Thanks for the info Spot. Do you know (roughly) how much additional revenue web delivery has generated for your DZ? I ask in order to have some figures to go to my DZO's with to try and get them to spend the money for the hard/software. I think they would be open to the idea considering they used realxstream for a little while. So, if I had an easy/effective/reasonably priced solution, I beleive they would go for it. Thanks again and Blue Skies, Jason
  17. Wow, that sounds really cool. How long have you been doing this? Do you know (roughly)how much additional revenue has been generated by this service? Are you using royalty free music to avoid copyright issues? Thanks and Blue Skies, Jason
  18. Looks really nice, Congrats. Blue Skies, Jason
  19. Wow, I guess I am out of the loop more than I thought. The main reason that we don't offer web delivery is that all of our vidiots (including me) are still using tape based cams and editing linier . I am sure that we will be moving to HD, memory card based cams and NL editing in the very near future. We will probably reconsider web delivery then. But for now, none of us are really set-up for it. I think everyone would agree that web delivery is a great marketing tool. Seems like I saw someone quote some results that they have seen from it but I can't remember who it was. Blue Skies, Jason
  20. We tried it for a while with realxstream but, as someone else said, it didn't work well and we quit using it. So now we offer nothing. Are you considering producing some software that would make this a quick and painless process? Blue Skies, Jason
  21. Congratulations Karen!! I agree that this should be done again.I really enjoyed all of the pics. Blue Skies, Jason
  22. That butt grab shot has got to be the winner!! I have never seen anyone do that before. Does the TI ask all of his students to do that??
  23. Thanks DSE, Merry Chistmas to you and yours and Happy New Year!! Thanks again for all that you do for skydiving in general, DZ.com in particular and this forum especially. Blue Skies, Jason
