  1. FYI, I just updated the Event Schedule if anyone is interested. http://www.skyfestboogie.com/event_schedule.html If you have a moment please take a look, It helps to have an idea of the schedule for your interest. We have laid this out so that even our organizers have a chance to play. If we stick to the schedule than we really make a ton of jumps over the weekend. Not trying to preach, just informing. Man I can't believe it is so close, I wonder if I have forgotten anything? Well if I did someone will let me know I am sure of it. J
  2. No you are correct, Pink Mafia will be represented by Mel & Ali Richard and I believe Brook will be there. Follow that link and go to Ali Richard. Thanks again everyone for your support!
  3. Ok Mike I have a solution, the BOD and SkyFest have conflicted for the past four years, have you been to the last three meetings? Well then there you go. Tell them you have a great story to cover or something? I know, my mother is presenting me with my 20 cert. w/ USPA and she receives her forty year (shhh, don't let her know I told everyone)
  4. Yeah, msdeva glad you will be there! I think you have been to all of them haven't you? Can't wait to see you, oh and yes I will be there as well. lol
  5. Man makes me feel like I need to get a life, just took me to the contact page of our website www.skyfestboogie.com Mental note "go find life"!
  6. Hey Todd, where you at on the Tandem #? Can you tell if the SCR will be at SkyFest yet or not? Kinda curious, I have 1199 and not sure what to do for 1200. Damn its just a few days away, hope every one is ready, hell hope I am ready.
  7. Hey Dave! I know that we have s...load of events going on already, but I bet we can find the time to do a DZ.com Dive. How many do you think we could get? Who is interested? Or does this need to be done at another time? BTW we now have a 16 way for the Second Generation Skydivers, I think that is incredible!
  8. QuoteHow in the world could you let this coolness fall off the first page? For shame, for shame!Quote Prize info. $25,000.00 worth of prizes. SkyFest does the raffle a little different than most, you will have the opportunity to choose what prize you want to win. There will be $5.00 and $10.00 prize buckets. We will have Block Raffle Tickets available to purchase, thus getting more chances to win. We have 4 really cool SkyFest logo altimeters to give away. All proceeds go the the Jerry Schrimsher Skydiving Scholarship Fund (JSF). So bring you money rain or shine there will be plenty of activities. For more info on prizes go to http://www.skyfestboogie.com/prizes.html
  9. Quote All right you rat, thats the pic's I have been trying to get from you. Lets see this SkyFest will be ONE YEAR since I have asked for them??? Your registration just went up
  10. QuoteHello, I am scared of heights, scared of flying, but I really want to do this. My 2 worst fears are crash landing! And how do I breathe????Quote Like they are saying heights is not a problem, I think that most will agree that many skydivers are afraid of heights as well. Breathing-Just do it. Normal in freefall and deeper in the aircraft. Hanging around the DZ for a day or at least a half day really helps. I tell newbies just take deep breaths as they are going to the door, and when they get there look at your camera man (cause I know you will get video) and smile. Usually there is a big rush as you exit but then after 4 to 6 seconds people tend to relax and enjoy the ride. Landing-No problem if the instructor tells you to lift your legs, Then do it and you will be fine. Have a great skydive, and be ready, you will probably want to do it again. Blue Skies
  11. Lets see turtle, it was you, me, Mark. F, Keith L., Bill N.,Brian B., who else was on your History making SCR at SkyFest? It was so cool to have Bill Newell on that, I was so thrilled I wanted to do mine again, but then the thought went away after thinking about the ceremony. Oh I have a Hotel already, I will get to Spaceland on Tuesday, since we decided to start it on Thursday.
  12. QuoteDamn damn damn all those hotties coming from GC!! Quote Last year the girls created their own event inside our large line up of jumps. Mandy organized a 10-way naked speedstar made up of only females. I couldn't believe it! That wasn't on the list of events, and no one knew until it was over. They had a ton of fun. They didn't complete the star, but they said they would like to try again. Does anyone know if that would be a record?
  13. Zach You should come and play with us at Spaceland in July, your father knows my mother very well, and he knew my father. This Second Generation will be a small piece of history. www.skyfestboogie.com Estillo and a ton of others you know will be there as well. C ya J Schrimsher
  14. Jim We have Boyds, Schrimshers, Nichols, Derek Thomas (owner of Sunpath), T.J. Landgren and maybe Hughes. I assume I can put Trent on that list? Would you mind informing the other folks you listed to please go to www.skyfestboogie.com and sign up? This would be awesome to have a 12 way or something, we will have to do a hybrid so the Dad's and the non freefliers can all play together! This is going to be great! Thanks Jim C ya soon J
  15. My parents met skydiving, fell in love with the sport and each other. My sister, brother and brother in law all jump as well. My father passed away almost 4 years ago on his third jump of the day. He experienced a massive heart attack after he deployed, never touched his toggles. I couldn't ask for a better way to go, other than the fact that he was only 65. I am very proud to be able to spend time with the family while we are all doing something that we love. If any one is interested we have organized a Second Generation World Record Attempt in Spaceland during SklyFest July 15-18. We already have a nine way consisting of second and third generation skydivers. We believe the record is only a 4 way. For more info go to www.skyfestboogie.com This boogie raises money for a Skydiving Scholarship Fund that we started a few years ago to give money to upcoming jumpers and anyone that wants to progress in the sport through coaching or instructing. Anyway, jumping with the family has to be the best way to enjoy the spirit of the sport and each other!
  16. Aggie Dave, what do you mean that the force field is for low time jumpers?.....Ever since I got my Pro Rating I can't hit them....But the twenty demo's I have done didn't mind BTW has Mark F. talked to you yet? ......get on the next load, I am waiting for you, come join me in those vast skies of blue. Tasia Tomany Schrimsher
  17. Lets see, get the lines straight, the slider up, the bridle right, and the rest does not matter. Well that was the case back in the 80's or 70's, has it changed since then??? No really, that is the basics, but with todays higher performing wings it is necessary to pay attention to the "packing of the parachute", but the basics will never change. Lines, slider, & bridle. Scott Miller has an excellent course, and there are alot of good videos such as Pack Like A Pro that will give you the confidence you need. If you get a chance to be where Performance Designs might be doing demos and John LeBlanc is there take advantage of his knowledge. Don't worry you will do just fine. www.skyfestboogie.com A skydiving scholarship event for everyone!
  18. Producers of ABC television network want to interview skydiving couples with children for its reality show, "The Swap." The selected family would exchange moms with a non-skydiving family for ten days. For details http://www.uspa.org/news/images/The_Swap.pdf I wonder how many homes this will break up? Maybe we will get some more skydivers out of this. I guess we will see. By the way that reminds me, SkyFest 04 at Skydive Spaceland July 16-18 is looking for Second Generation Skydivers to attempt a World Record. If you are a Second Generation Skydiver and interested please go to www.skyfestboogie.com
