  1. Yeah. I am a bit lost on the location. Is it going to be on the windsock side, or the other...thats a long walk if so, " A long walk is better than a short crawl" so they say... From the flags and where it was pointed out last weekend it will be here. (see attachment) Wow. THE best answer I have ever gotten on DZ.com. No frills. Thanks brother no problem... im ready to start watching people get wet. it was still alot of fun this weekend watching people coming through the gates Rob setup.
  2. Pics of my unit first 2 are of the car and the motor with a 4088R on it, 3rd is of the Eclipse (after color change) and my old IS300. i hate green but after looking back at the car i miss the old color
  3. We are loking for a supra (just like everyone else) to play with. The Honda she is just playing pimp my ride with for now and learning how to drive when you actually have to turn.. id give my left nut for a MKIV supra (seriously)
  4. fastest i have been in the 8th is 7.13 @ 109mph, damn thing spins down the track. quater mile is stupid... haha, 11.5 @ 137 spinning into 4th. since then it lifted the head (with ARP's) running around 44psi :D and burned a hole in the cylinder head
  5. I love the sound of STI's, ive always been an EVO fan, but Several of my good buddies are die hard superdoo fans. they still would be pissed when they would drag in a 500whp wrx on C-16 and id take his lunch money on 93.
  6. The Caymans are actually extremely fun cars to drive... im not a boxter fan, so getting in a cayman i was thinking it was going to be a boxter with a tuxedo on. its more like a boxter on crack, perfectly balanced, good torque and just down right sticks. great car to drive on the street and the track
  7. Drifting is one thing i respect due to the skill needed but is something i never got into it. i built a few 300zx's for drifting and then a solid number of 240's. mainly turbo stuff Im an acura tech @ dealership now so let me know if you need any info on the Accord. its strikingly similar to a 3.2 TL :D As far as drifting in the accord... it might be tricky (i know you can drift in FWD cars,) but the transmissions in those cars are known to be built like toothpicks.
  8. What it run at the track? Gas is fun, i was a hater until i learned how to correctly install a window switch :D (kept wondering why the shit didnt spray till 7 grand haha)

  10. Who's into it? ive noticed some car nuts on here I love all kinds of cars, imports and domestics, old and new. i've never gotten around to getting terribly familiar with older cars. I just like anything that's fast. I made my living making cars fast for about 5 years, it paid for school and lots of fun toys. ive always been big into drag racing cars. My personal car is a 97 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX. Its built to the bone and last time on the rollers put out 692 awhp (all wheel horsepower) It runs with a built 2.4 that is theoretically made to stand 1100hp. has a stand alone(AEM), dual rail setup, GT4094R, ect... full JIC magic suspension all around, brembo's up front, and for a while had a direct port setup with 150 spool up shot on it. I had an IS300 for 4 years that i wanted to put a 2JZ-GTE into, had half the parts for, put then tall grass and hot exhaust whooped its ass. :( The 2JZ is probably the strongest motor ever built. period. (debate if you like :D) Post what you got/want!
  11. Seriously... make sure your wheels are tight. Just from sounds of it you probably lost a tooth in the rack. IF thats the case, you gotta have a new rack and id avoid driving without getting it fixed, If you loose another tooth or 2 you risk loosing all steering. A gap internally larger then one tooth will possibly (depends on the type of rack in the car) cause a loss of "mesh" and make no more turning. OR on a few cars ive seen people hit some bumps and jar either the steering column or the rack causing the gearbox to bind up. the simple way to fix that is to loosen up the bolts and tighten them back down again. i know that's probably a bit more work then joe blow can do (means if your not a mechanically inclined don't attempt) either way noises while turning are not good. id get it looked into
  12. :9:2 9 jumps this weekend, great weekend... a little cold but still had a blast! beer for my first 11 way attempt, funneled out the door but 7-8 of them got back together. Right as i was about to dock again i looked at my alti and saw us 500 feet from breakoff so i just watched for a few and then turned and tracked like a SOB then Beer for a 7 way hybrid.
  13. Well... if you were planning on going to see "the day the earth stood still" and got stood up, you didnt miss a DAMN thing. HORRIBLE MOVIE. i would have rather been at home alone drinking wine, (i hate wine) So your saying that a 75 degree day with a handfull of jump tickets, Rig on your back, and low winds wouldnt cheer you up? :D
  14. Ive owned 2 R1's a 98 and an 05 I absolutely without a doubt loved both of them more then life itself (at times). In my previous job i had the luxury of getting to basically ride the dog shit out of practically every other sport bike (crotch rocket) out there. Ive taken an R6, R1, every size gixxer, CBR100, 929, 945, RC51, a kawi ZX-10,12 and 14, Ducati 996, 998, and 1098. (and id sell a testicle to get on a 1198) down and around many tracks. While i never really got hardcore into track racing and never had any formal instruction, (a pro rider may have a differnt opinon) i can drag my knee pretty decent and will tell you without a doubt that at the race track (road course) a Yamaha will spank tail. The end. Drag strip a Suzuki will take most wins... I dont know how big you are, but i weigh around 170 lbs and the busa (both old and new) and the zx-14 were to much for me. I didn't have any weight to throw around so basically i was chicken through turns. The smaller bikes were just plain to slow for me. As far as being comfortable, the Yamahas were made to ride fast around corners, not for long rode trips. the hondas defiantly were more lenient on my butt and back after a few hours but that's not what i wanted. The way it was best way it was described to me was "with most bikes you can see the road through the helmet, with a yami you can fell the road through the bike" kinda stupid but its true. short of the ducati's and the RC51 (RC51 is a different monster) I personally think that Yamaha is the only way to go. you got my vote :D (the 09's are SEX on wheels) PS: once you decide come to NC and play at the dragon (bike dragon, not raeford) -Kevin
