    Graduation Day!

Good Job Dr... Dr. Dr... Come on out to California and I'll buy you a jump to help get you back in the air! Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  3. I like the Blade MCX a lot more than the little 3-channel w/gyro helicopters from China. Since the Blade MCX2 is out, the yellow one is only like $80 now. They are great entertainment for the cats too Well, until they catch the heli Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  4. I"ve gone through a few RC Helis. It took me about 6 months to get the training gear off my first 30-size nitro heli. I have flown and sold Century 30, Baron 30, Raptor 60 and now I just have a Blade 450 for my heli fix. What others have said - go get a sim. Just an older one off e-bay is fine. I use RealFlight G3 because that works on my older computer. Also, go pick up a little inside heli like the Blade MCX. They are nice and stable but teach you how to coordinate your cyclic (aileron) with rudder better than flying planks. You will be surprised how much your scale heli flys like the CX I think. And - Go find a heli coach. Have him check it all out and test fly. Nothing is more difficult than trying to fly a heli that isn't set up well Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  5. I don't think it was that type of sex work Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  6. I live right here in Clovis with you two and I'm always the last to know.. Congrats you two.. Welcome back Lucky, thanks for digging up the dirt on LawRocket Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  7. Dude, you may want to hide that phone number - or else you could soon learn what the DZ.com Drunk Dial List is Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  8. I had the same thing with my Sabre 150. Working with one of my local canopy pilots, I set up my brakes so there is a nice "arc" of brake line behind the tail of the parachute in full flight - as shown on the document above. That gives me about 2 or 3-inches of play in the upper part of the toggle pull before the canopy starts to deflect. Then, with the front riser the canopy will not buck unless I have pulled down the riser more than I ever really want to
  9. You would have to recover from your reunion by Sunday to see people at Madera - Just a Saturday/Sunday DZ... But, if you do get out early, I can probably talk Annie into a glass of wine
  10. Ficklin Vineyards sounded familar. I drive by their sign every trip to Madera Parachute Center. We're in Clovis, just east of Fresno. However, I don't know about getting off work Monday to go wine tasting Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  11. I got to work and learn a lot from Terry when he was out here in California (Skydive Monterey Bay).. I also got to work with him and Bob Holler when we were training tandem instructors - photo attached. Both great guys I will miss you Terry - Blue Skies Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  12. Call Square1 - they should be able to provide the best information. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  13. Yep, Arthritis is setting in for me now... About 10 years after the fracture. Not just that fracture, but I'm having some problems with inflamatory arthritis, that joint just gets hit harder because it was injured. I can run some, but prefer to just walk an incline for my cardio. Just have to watch it. You can't really "push through" the pain. With these old injury flare-ups you have to get it better or you get out of balance and other things start hurting.. Man, mid-40's sucks Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  14. Gooooood Jooooobbbbbbb!! Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  15. Hey - I have an eye appointment down town tomorrow morning on "S" Street near Community Hospital... Stay the heck off the sidewalks and you'll be fine I love the - gotta be first to the lane merge. Even if I have to turn 50 feet after that; I'll be in front of you mentality... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  16. I like it - this episode we got to see you wake up and drive to the DZ NAKED... I guess it's kinda like Donald Duck with no pants but a shirt - you have a jumpsuit on the skydives Seriously – I really Love your cartoons… Thanks for putting all the work into them. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  17. Perfect!!! I hope I remember this next time someone asks.... Well next time another jumper asks... I was going to go for a glider ride, but the airport with skydiving was closer... Took me 10 more years to make that glider ride Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  18. Good Job working it out with the staff... Students teach me a lot about MY communication skills... If you don't understand - I"M not saying it right Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  19. This would be a great thing to ASK your instructor before the next jump - heck, I don't even know what angles you (or he) are talking about.. Maybe an "angle" into the wind, maybe the "angle" you turned onto final (such as cutting the base leg short) and maybe it is the vertical angle of your approach... Ask for a "chalk talk" and see if he can draw on the board what you flew last jump and then to draw what he expects you to do... Hey, I'm a visual learner edited for my sucky spelling Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  20. You are going right through Newport, RI - GREAT PLACE... Just make your way down to the warf and there are several places that have open seating and serve great fresh food. Or, there are some great high-end places to eat. One of my best trips there was pulling in to the dock during a rain storm and my team (sailboat) all went in to town wearing foul-weather gear (the good old yellow rubber stuff). The Maitre'd sat us OUTSIDE, on the patio - in the rain . I guess we were not in their dress code.. If you are in Newport during the afternoon, the Mansion's Walk (advertised as Cliff Walk) is just up from the Warf. During one of my ports-of-call (off the ship this time) it was a pretty easy stroll up from the warf. However, I don't know if they were hit too hard from the recent weather. I bet they are getting back to normal... Have a good trip edited for a correction Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  21. That's a good point - it would make a lot more sense to have that setup. Also, can't really tell from the sales photo, but the reserve pack looks pretty big for a 120, assuming the 188 is closed in the container underneith. Maybe Cloudy should send the owner a note/question and check it out. Heck, I'd rather be jumping that rig (188/210 combo) sometimes instead of my 150/150 setup Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  22. Maybe he means the online FJC.. I haven't watched the whole thing yet... But what I have seen seems pretty close to what I see in First Jump classes
  23. Jerry, It was all good I'm sure Things are very well to great - thanks. I was out at Madera doing tandems this weekend and my son, who started his sophomore year today, was out learning how to pack with Sara and Dave. And, I got to do an “old guys” fun jump the end of the day. So, I guess I’m an old guy now. Good to hear from you – I had actually clicked past the Kitty Transport thread last week and saw that you are well with a new family member – congratulations. OK, not wanting to hijack Nataly’s “life” thread – send a note when you get a chance.. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  24. So, now he has a credit card and can take you out to dinner?? Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  25. How about USPA...: http://www.uspa.org/BecomeaSkydiver/OnlineGroundSchool/tabid/557/Default.aspx Enough people aound here reference The Skydivers Information Manual and other things such as Basic Safety Requirements from USPA. So, when people come here for information, maybe we could point them to a standard reference... There are some pretty good videos showing exactly what the different malfunctions look like... edited to make it clicky. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
