  1. Yep, like you can count on that... I remember it clearly - [dzo], I've got good news and bad news for you [us regular TI's], what, something wrong with the plane? [dzo] this young lady (cute) wants to do her tandem naked... that's the good news [us regular TI's], what's the bad? [dzo] you guys are taking her "boy" friends - they want to go naked too -hot summer day; we were wearing jump suites and gloves Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  2. I have a similar setup. Keeps me from having to ask if the camers is on (1-button mode) and getting all those "GoPro Looks" on the video Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  3. Babz, I see your thought for the "cut away." The button cutaway would be replacing the stud on the snap. However, just pulling that stud will NOT remove the tension strap from the helmet, it still goes inside the helmet and around the back, under your chin then is screwed in place on the other side (there are two black hex screws that secure and guid the tension strap on either side of the chin area). If you use the "button cutaway" you are just replacing the one metal snap. The snap works fine and the top button is mounted in a plastic togle that helps you lift the button (as noted above). I think by hanging anything else on there you are not really gaining any advantage. When you unsnap the tightening strap, the helmet will lift right off your head. I would not modify it at all unless required by your UK CCI. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  4. When the helmet snap is released, the back/cable will loosen enough for the helmet to come off. Now, it may not "float" off your head, you may have to help lift it - but it will come off. I don't know the UK CCI requirement for a "cutaway," that may be solved with a simple "flag" on the snap to help you grab it easier (or maybe a loop is needed) so you can get the snap off quick and not have to go "looking" for it. I think it would be overkill to try and rig something up on the other end of the tightening cable. But, the UK CCI would have to provide an answer for what they require. I jump it because I feel there is less snag potential then having the camera up on that "Telly Tubby" post. And, I can get the helmet off with just the snap if I do get a line wraped around the camera. Personally, I think it comes off easier than a ProTec (those pads will rip your ears off) - But that's me, YMMV. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  5. I use the Phantom X Lens w/ GoPro mount - I really like it. I also love the fact I can switch the mount/lens off real easy on different jumps. Disclaimer - I'm not an advocate for jumping with the camera before you have the USPA recommended experience. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  6. Naw, that was pretty cool.. He would have been an asshole for farting in that little plane with her Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  7. Whoa - that's not your suggestion for her is it... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  8. I drug my family out to see Atlantis in May 2009, STS-125 over Edwards... Some guys say we may see Endeavour fly by from here. I don't know if it's worth taking the day to watch for her. Now, if they were LANDING in Fresno Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  9. Come Home Safe - First. If you make it out to my DZ I'll run through all the refresher and your recurrancy dive free... It is a little review, mal photos, aircraft emergency, hanging harness, etc. Then basically a 2-way jump going back through the basics. While you are deployed, just keep in good health and go through your EPs once in a while. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  10. No slink to connect it. I just pulled the "larks head" through the loop on top of the canopy. Then attached the d-bag/pilot chute with the french link on the system. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  11. When I used the PsycoPack on my old Monarch. I bought a Climbing "Dogbone" for the extension. They had them at our local REI. You can choose different lenghts. They were "climbing rated" to support different weights, so I felt it fine for my use. My rigger was fine with it. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  12. Oh com on LR - that was a gift to ALL OF US I went in 8 or 10 years ago - my Dr ask; we have some interns here today, do you mind if they watch So, 2 extra guys and 2 girls got to attend the show. 15. I had neck pain years ago that was causing pretty bad headaches. The MRI showed asymmetrical discs - bulged on one side. I ended up going through a Pain Management Specialist then to a Pain Medacine Dr. The Pain Medacine Dr ended up doint TWO epiduarl injections into my neck between the vertebrae. They were 3 months apart. He said I may have to follow-up in a year or so.. Well, it's been 10+ years and I have not needed to go back for that problem.. Yep, still jumping, still doing Tandems... I just started with my GP and went from there. Check your options.. Good Luck Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

Thanks Lisa... And, thanks for jumping down here for your big event - It was super cool!! BTW, I don't think I ever saw a photo posted of that jump.?? Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  17. The way up to altitude shouldn't be your biggest concern Seriously, it should be fine as noted. However, at a "new" DZ your eye for altitude is probably a little different than your home DZ, so you will be looking at the Alti more on the way DOWN... If you have an extra, like a chest mount, or can borrow one, do that and give yourself the extra comfort. Well - unless you think they BOTH may be off Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
