  1. I usually tell people if they can't reach the slider; your risers are probably too long Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  2. Hey Lisa, We did the 395 camping trip when Chris was younger one year. There was a really nice campground with hookups in Bishop. Glad we had power, because we got some serious rain that trip I would also add Fossil Falls as a nice little stop and hike. It's like a big outdoor McDonalds playland
  3. I ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011SHYQLW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For my X5SC. The 700mAh still fits well and it is a little heavier than the stock (I think was 450 mAh) capacity. Plus, you can charge all 5 and yours at one time before you go out to fly.. Was a good setup with what I picked as the best reviews/brand. Well, edited after I saw yours came with a larger batt (850 mAh) that is only providing 5-7 minutes of flight time. So, looking for a match, I do like the Tenergy brand and the ability to multi-charge. You just have to search a few places to find batteries with matching plugs and good reviews. 4. I also have my Third Class Certificate under a Special Issuance. It took 6 month and a couple memos/letters from my doctor to have my medical re-issued. I was diagnosed with arthritis and take a med off the excluded list. But 6 months is no big deal out of 20 years doing tandems. In the big picture, it is easier to comply with the medical stuff then go around it I think. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  5. I think you can and if you follow the Mfg recommendations you can do it within their recommendations.. However, it costs more for the main Canopy because it takes special material.. My son and I jump Aerodyne: http://www.flyaerodyne.com/download/IconSizingChart.pdf Looking at the I4, you can start with 210 Ultra LPV main (like the Pilot 7 with special construction) and go all the way down to a "regular" ZP 140 main in the same container. But, be warned you start on the super tough to pack end and work down to the almost to loose stage.. My son is jumping a Pilot 168 ZPX in his I4 with 150 Smart Reserve. He is planning to down-size to a 150 ZP main next spring. It keeps the fit all "in the green" and is a lot easier to pack.. He jumps the Icon Pro. I up-sized my 150-size rig to the I5 with 170 Main (and Dacron lines) and the LPV Smart 175 reserve.. Both my rigger and I are very happy packing up this setup.. It works, just plan a little ahead and be willing to pay for what you want.. Happy New Year - Be Safe Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  6. I do not have that container or that size ZPX. However, my Son owns the Pilot 168ZPX and it packs snugly into a rig sized for a 150 main (Icon I4)... You may be able to interpret that as a Pilot 188ZPX will pack as small as a 170. Depending on canopy make, cells, etc. Also, his experience was that "new" ZPX felt Super Slippery and then packing got much easier after 50 jumps or so.. Just FYI. 7. Gassiness in a Re-Circulating Wind Tunnel... Laura, that's mean - like pulling the sheets over your bed pals head after you let one slip -spelling, sheeesh Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  8. Oh, the list is long... But, probably my top 3 are: - Stir & Frost Cake (Microwave).. Yum... Especially at 0100.. -Space Food Sticks; could carry them in your pocket all day and still eat them -Concentrate Cereal; like mini Special K flakes... Hey, better than eating paste Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  9. You Two are cute.. And, what a BEAUTIFUL DZ!!! Thanks for sharing... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  10. Bill, I think Elisha meant to pass the platform at standard speed.. I think we have the same here in Fresno.. The close track is for Amtrack to stop along side of the platform.. When tracks are used for other rail traffic, such as freight, they stay on the farther set and can proceed past at their usual 35-45 mph through town.. However, not meant as a siding to allow cars clearance/passing.. Those are in more open areas.. Not a railroad guy, I just have a couple projects where we need access along the railways.. And, since I'm not an Engineer - I Don't Drive Trains... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

It was originally a landscape photo on my Iphone.. Then I did rotate the pic using my desktop computer because it opened sideways... But my desktop is a regular old HP computer.. Any Ways, here is another photo/grab from a few days later in the trip.. Maybe it will post with the top-side up Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

I am so bummed we did not get out to the DZ.. We flew in Friday - Saturday we went past the DZ twice... Once in the morning and hiked up Butte Mountain - Attached photo looking south at the Knik Glacier.. Weather was not looking good.. Later that day we went out to the Musk Ox farm go pick up very damn expensive yarn.. Still super windy.. However, we had a Great Week!!! Stayed in Cooper Landing south of Anchorage; took an Air Tour, hiked, Fjord Tour by boat - Just a BLAST!!! We were Very Sad to leave for home the following Friday.. Maybe next time.. Edited for spelling... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

  17. I was wondering about pulling the trailer - then read it was framed around a Mobility Scooter..
  18. It is a good thing to check your kill line - the "color" can show and still have the problem you remedied.. What was rectified about the EP's?? Previous PCIT Thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4521413;search_string=tow;#4521413 Edited - to add link. 21. The funny thing is I'm flying into Anchorage June 17th... We are visiting family near there till June 19th, then headed south for the rest of the week... However, this is our 20th Anniversary Trip - I Don't Think I should be taking my Rig Also, our Anniversary date is the Solstice; Longest Day... However, the 19th Is Father's Day... Hmmmm, Maybe... Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  22. My physical therapist said that Any arch support should be flexible.. He put Everyone on the basketball team in arch supports to prevent foot injury/damage.. I understand that arch supports are for Plantar Fasciitis from "falling arches" or similar foot strain. I do not know if they would help if the Plantar Fascia has been strained from another issue.. The Ibuprofen was prescribed from the Sports Doc.. Well after the Cortisone shots.. Is Buschmills the whiskey?? Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
  23. Ken - I just searched and dug this up from 8 years ago... Sorry I'm using cut-n-past, but too much to try and recall... OK, I have been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis before. I think you may have some good options. I went through all kinds of stuff... Went to an ortho and got some nice cortisone shots right into my Heels... Holy crap that hurt!!!.. That only helped for a week and the pain was killing me again.. Then, I went to see the podiatrist and he fit me for some RIGID arch supports.. They caused more pain in the sides of my feet and ankles then the PF.. Finally, I went to a sports medicine place and got hooked up with a physical therapist that happened to work with the local college basketball team.. Guess what.. PF can become a pretty “common” problem if you don’t prevent it.. At least that what he told me, and he was a paid trainer for the team.. I was fit for FLEXIBLE arch supports, made by a company called Biomechanical. Now I just wear Super Feet Supports - REI has them and some running places. I also had some 800 mg Ibuprofen to help with the inflammation. Within a month, including physical therapy to get me walking straight again, I was back to walking, running, and skydiving (yes, lots of comments about jumping causing the problem) and never had to get more shots in the bottom of my feet.. I still wear the arch supports today. If I don't wear them for a couple days in a row, the pain does start to come back. Then back into the arch supports and I can feel the bottoms of my feet stretch, then no pain..
  24. Rt Lateral Tibial Plateau fracture - Tandem skydive, slid-in landing on soft ground... My right foot/leg stopped in the soft dirt; "We" did not.. Fracture did not separate, so no pin or screws. Some meniscus damage. No surgery.. 6 weeks in a brace, no movement. 6 more weeks in pt.. It still acts up sometimes. I try not to kneel on that knee very much in the Cessna 182.. That's all I really remember, it was back in 1998 and I'm not a doctor.. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
